Firwood Cabin - Meredith Lodging

If you need to relax and unwind, the Firwood Cabin is where you will want to spend your Mt Hood vacation. This warm and cozy cabin is located in a quiet, serene setting off the beaten path with awesome views of the Zigzag Mountain range. You will be surrounded by towering tall trees reaching up to the sky on 3 private acres close to Mt Hood National Forest trails for summer and winter fun. However, you may never want to leave this peaceful and relaxing cabin.

This recently remodeled cabin is ideal for a romantic couple’s retreat or for a small family with 2 bedrooms each with a queen bed plus the full bathroom. The spacious great room has been completely remodeled keeping the vintage fir floors and massive fir beams maintaining mountain ambiance, but adding all new kitchen cabinets, counter tops and appliances for modern comforts. The living room area includes streaming TV and a land line phone.

Enjoy the backyard deck with the mountain views while you grill dinner on the gas BBQ and enjoy your meal at the outside dining table. Roast marshmallows for dessert while you sit around the firepit sharing stories of the day’s adventures around Mt Hood. You will want to end the evening with a relaxing soak in the private, outdoor hot tub. Your dog is welcome to join you at the Firwood Cabin for an additional charge.

Internet does not work at all, not just slow. Worked out well to disconnect but should be prepared. Landline phone available for emergencies but should invest in new device because buttons don’t work well. Fire place stopped working during our stay. House was cool but made it work. Kitchen well stocked with supplies, beds very comfortable.

The internet is up and running again - the router was replaced. Our maintenance team has since confirmed that the fireplace works but they wanted to remind future renters that it is not the main source of heat - there are cadet heaters throughout the home to keep it warm. Great little place

Description was accurate, place was clean, checkout process wasn't too bad. Snowed a lot, so the satellite internet was kinda flakey, should that be of importance.

Perfect Staycation Close to Mountain

The perfect cabin in the woods to relax at after a day on the mountain! The hot tub was amazing. Wi-Fi is pretty spotty so keep that in mind when booking but if you want to be off grid for a few days, it’s perfect.

Great house. Location is great to get away. Pay attention to their directions to the property. If you need internet or signal during your stay this may not be the place for you. Overall very nice place to stay.

Relaxing place to unplug

This is a simple relaxing place close to mt hood hiking destinations. Definitely suggest if you need an excuse for the fanily to unplug from the internet and cell phones. Good game collection and nice hot tub.

Cute & quiet

We enjoyed our trip to this cute little Rhododendron house. Home is mostly secluded with a nice backyard deck, fire pit and hot tub. Living room is a little small but kitchen and dining had plenty of room. Bedrooms were good sized and comfy. We had one small issue with the hot tub cover but the owner/management was very responsive. We would recommend!

I booked this for my wifes birthday! The house and location was great. The down side is the heaters didnt work up stairs and the fan didnt work on the gas stove. It took almost a full day tonget it up to 65 dregess in the house. The house wifi didnt work the cable didnt work. The couch was covered in dog hair and there was dog poop right out of the front doors. I

No cell service or wi-fi

Be sure to read detailed description of this property before booking it. We wish the lack of cell service and wi-fi had been prominently displayed in the listing. It caused problems for us. In addition, many things did not work well - the TV service, lights in kitchen, etc. This property needs more attention by mgmt.

Could of been cleaner

Good stay, just trying to let the home owners know. Heaters and propane stove did not work. Tried calling and texting management. No luck on both. House could have been cleaner. Bathroom vent was clogged and grease film was on cabinets above microwave. Overall, Roof over our heads and great laughter was shared. What more could you ask for.

Cute cabin

It's a cute cabin in a wooded neighborhood. Pretty private, tho you can see a neighbor and occasionally hear their dogs bark. The only complaints I have is the beds were very uncomfortable, loud, and bouncy. If you roll over, be prepared to wake your partner with the noise and bed shakes. It's hard and uncomfortable also. Mattress upgrades would do a world of difference in this cabin! There was also no cell service, which I expected. Sometimes on the patio there was a bar here and there. They have DISH TV but we couldn't get it to work. We tried all the normal steps and it never did work.

We booked 3 nights and left after 15 hours…

PLEASE READ. The booking states ‘slow’ internet but it was completely non existent, so keep that in mind if you book here. I have no problem if it was slow, but that was not true. Also, the door code did not work upon arrival at 4:00 as stated. We had no phone service so we had to drive back to the highway to call the property manager to get a new code. It says the property is on 3 acres but you can access only what you see in the pics, the rest is undeveloped. We checked out at 6am the very next day, if case an emergency came up we needed to be able to get a text or phone call. The lack of internet also means no ability to log into streaming services on the tv. The house had huge ants all over inside. To be fair, it is in the forest so I would expect some, but not all over the living room and in the beds :( We asked for a partial refund or credit since we left asap but were completely DENIED. I’ve never left a bad review in my life until now, but feel like this was warranted to warn others of this listing.

Everything was clean & we had everything we needed. Only downside is the TV never actually worked/connected to satellite, which was fine for us as we mainly spent our time in the hot tub or out in the snow near lost lake. We were so sad when it came time to leave. Something about being here away from the city, no internet, no cell service, just away from normal life. It was so refreshing. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect weekend to celebrate my day. We will definitely be back to rent another vacation rental & already started planning our next weekend away!

We have had a service call from Dish TV and they replaced the cable and some other parts and now the satellite TV is working. Sometimes, you can get 1 or 2 bars on cell phones (AT&T and Verizon) in the yard or driveway. There is a land line phone in the house with free long distance for emergencies. This cabin is perfect if you need a respite from screen time.

This secluded spot is great because it is still close to hwy26 and Welches for groceries. We loved the hot tub, grill and fire pit, and just made sure to bring a lot of our own movies since there is no WiFi or cell service and limited cable options.The room with the skylights is amazing to sleep in and see the stars and wake up to a beautiful sunrise.

Not worth the money

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I will not be staying at a rental managed by this company again. They were very rude in my first message exchange. Beyond that, we arrived early and asked if they would let us know as soon as the key was ready & they said they would but did not. We sat in our car in the freezing rain for an hour waiting for 4:00 & the key had been in the box the whole time & who knows how long it had been in there. The house was not fully cleaned (dishes still in the machine, unswept floors, which made me uncomfortable especially during COVID). There were NO kitchen Tupperware, no foil, plastic wrap, seasoning of any kind, no oils, Nothing! The pots & pans were not only destroyed, but they had cooked on filth that I had to scrub off before I could use them. Beyond that the house has absolutely NO charm. Not Quite as Expected

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had another home booked originally that we really liked. Storm damage caused us to move to this one. It was pretty hard to find and very remote (no cell, no internet). We were told there was a TV package but it was not working when we were there (pre-recorded DVR only). It was mostly clean with the exception of old coffee grounds in the coffee pot. The beds were hard and squeaky, no extra blankets, and the only phone was not even cordless. Other than, that the hot tub was lovely. We checked out early after the first night. We would stay with Mt. Hood Vacation Rentals again, but not at this property.
