Wonderful lake house

We had a wonderful several weeks at the house on Galway Lake. It was immaculate when we arrived, the Wi-Fi and Roku tv were reliable and the beds were comfortable. The lake itself is beautiful and the house is located in a very private spot with beautiful lanes to walk. We basically had everything that we needed including a couple of great kayaks and easy access to the water for my 91 year old husband. We mostly cooked our meals and the kitchen was well equipped. Sheila responded quickly every time I had a question. We have been renting lake houses in the Adirondacks for many years and this was just about the best one. We will be coming back next year.

A little bit pricy for the experience.

The home was a little bit run down and not very well maintained by the cleaning service. We found open containers of food in the cupboards with ants crawling around inside. Found leftover food in the refrigerator that should have been thrown away. The windows and screens were filthy with cobwebs such that you didn't want to open them for air. The finished basement had a damp musty smell which caused us not to use it. Lakeside retreat was nice, but outdoor equipment was dirty and not well maintained.

Gorgeous property, wonderful house, great host

Absolutely gorgeous property, clean and calm lakefront. Great for swimming in the summertime. Dock and boats were a ton of fun. Quiet, clean, and very relaxing. My 3 kids and I had a wonderful time.

Perfect host and location

This is a great house in a perfect location. Great views of the water and multiple kayaks for getting out there. But it was the little touches, everything you need for s’mores and a bag of logs for the fire was super cool. Perfect lakefront getaway.

Beautiful setting

The setting is beautiful, we had a very relaxing week. A couple suggestions for future guests, the windows on the back porch that views the lake should be clean. That view is what I would go back for. Dirty windows definitely take away from that. I ended up washing them, what a difference.The sofa bed downstairs needs to be repaired or replaced. The bottom of the mattress springs were broken. Outside there were outdoor chairs covered with spider webs and leaves, a quick sweep would take care of that. The grill outside burners don’t work that great. Would look nicer outside if the old dock had been removed. Positives, had all the kitchen accessories & cleaning things we needed, towels & linens plenty.Great time with the kayaks, paddle boards & row boat.

This was our first visit to New York and this was a great place to stay! Very clean and plenty of room. Excellent view of the lake and very nice location. Excellent communication with the owner. Highly recommend!

It was exactly as advertised and more! Everything needed was provided. Quiet and peaceful. Great swimming, kayaking and fishing! Not far from restaurants and stores.

Beautiful, clean and relaxing! Loved every minute!!

We had so much fun! The house was clean and had everything we needed, like sugar and coffee and all cooking utensils. They even offered Halloween treats like candy and pretzels as a snack! Every text and question was answered immediately! Relaxing, serene and fun is all I can say!!

Delightful Galway Lake Home

The house is in a secluded, quiet spot looking out on Galway lake. The living room leads to a closed in porch both with broad views of the lake. The downstairs family room does also. The house was quite clean and well provided for in terms of towels, linens etc. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and dining. The amenities described in the VRBO listing were accurate. The location is about 20 minutes from Saratoga Springs and 15 minutes from Amsterdam.

Excellent property!

What a gem! We loved our time in Broadalbin. Close enough to stores to grab anything you may have forgotten, but feels super remote as soon as you turn onto the private drive. We enjoyed the kayaks and the quiet serene lake. Lots of wildlife, very relaxing. House had everything we needed and more.

The lake is just beautiful and being able to take the kayaks out around the lake on a weekday and be the only ones there was incredibly peaceful. Highly recommend this place!

Wonderful Lake Property

The home and property were perfect for our family vacation. 2 adults and three teens had more than enough space to relax, come together, and settle in our separate spaces for downtime. The house is very well stocked with kitchen supplies, bedding, towels, basic cleaning supplies, soaps, BBQ tools, and more. The home was very clean and well kept, with great extra touches throughout. Tons of outdoor seating spaces and options as well, which we appreciated during the beautiful weather the week we were there. Galway Lake itself is a quiet and serene escape, with no motor boats or loud groups allowed. Fishing, kayaking, swimming, and floating on the provided inflatables were activities we all enjoyed daily! The waterfront area and dock provided plenty of space and options for everyone to enjoy their various water or waterside activities throughout our stay. The fire pit, and initial stack of provided firewood, served as the evening relaxation spot. But, do bring bug spray as the fire smoke was not enough to keep the nighttime bugs away. We also used the provided 4 kayaks and row boat, which were great fun! This lake would be perfect for paddle boarding as well, if you have one to bring along. The owners suggestions for local stores and restaurants were great. We did try the owner recommended Village Pizzeria and Ristorante and would highly recommend you have a meal or two there. The local contact for the home, Sheila, is fantastic and very responsive to any questions or concerns. Would definitely rent this property again!

Great Lake Property

This property is excellent! The space an layout was more than adequate for our family vacation for 5. The home is clean and well maintained with many small extra touches to make sure it’s a welcoming for its guests. It’s a very well stocked rental with ample kitchen supplies, basic cleaning supplies and tools, basic soaps and detergents for guest use, plenty of bedding and extra blankets, and comfortable furniture and beds. We fully utilized and enjoyed all of the outdoor amenities! The provided kayaks, rowboat, water inflatables, fire pit area, ample outdoor seating, and lawn games were all in great condition and used daily. We were able to fish, boat, swim, and kayak from the grassy waterfront and the properties long dock. Galway Lake is a clear and calm lake with no motor boys or loud groups allowed, which provides the perfect setting for relaxation and recharge. Would highly recommend bringing a paddle board if you have one as the lake is smooth and calm! The local contact is a super responsive to any questions or concerns. And, the owner recommendations for dining and shopping were very helpful. We tried the owner recommended Village Pizzeria and Ristorante for dinner and everything was delicious. Would highly recommend grabbing a meal or 2 there. Convenient to Saratoga (20 - 25 mins) and Lake George (~50 mins) as well as several other lakes and hiking trails. It was a great location to enjoy so many things!

It was a beautiful property with an amazing view on the lake. Enjoyed the special touches like the basket of items to make s'mores and the firewood for the fire pit. Very relaxing and quiet area and perfect for our little family reunion.
