Family getaway

We definitely enjoyed our stay! The picturesque property was well maintained, the pool house was great, and the main house was very clean and comfortable. The only surprise we ran into was that there were two full baths in the pool house. We expected one of those to be in the main house. I would definitely recommend this property to large groups!

Great Escape

The house was perfect! The only thing I would note is that 2 of the full bathrooms are in the pool house which we were not expecting, didn't ruin anything just not what we were expecting.Plenty of space ro spread out, fully stocked kitchen with grilling needs as well! The beds were comftable and the outdoor patio seated our group of 9 comfortably. Its small town and the house is tucked back which is exactly what we were looking for. The pool entertained us for hoirs and the wildlife was wonderful to watch throughout the day. Host were easy to get in touch with and very prompt on responding.Highly recommend!

Stunning views

Would absolutely stay again. We had a large group of women for a ladies weekend and so much fun was had. From singing on the porch, to watching sunsets and the tide to enjoying the beautiful grounds. We had a few hiccups the first day but Whitney was great and we got them resolved rather quickly. I would 100% stay here again!

I do not even know where to start with how glorious this vacation home was. The views were absolutely out of this world. The grounds itself and the unique touches with all the sitting areas,hammocks,lounge areas gave us endless possibilities to relax and play, and the kids had a ball .The house itself was decorated so beautifully and each room had so many nice touches. Our bed that we slept in was beyond comfortable… and from the feedback I got from our other guest their beds were equally as comfortable. Which is rare in vacation homes. The owners took a lot of time and effort to make sure that everything that you needed was there. The highlight was absolutely the pool and the pool house. It was the perfect spot to, relax and enjoy each other. The drive to the beach and the downtown area took less than 10 minutes and offered the most intimate beach and so many unique restaurants and bars and shops to explore. We visited the local YMCA and they were very friendly and let us exercise there with no problem. I cannot say enough amazing things about this vacation home …it is heaven on earth and the hosts of the house were absolutely wonderful to work with. We will absolutely be returning.

Like “Gone with the Wind” So Gorgeous!

You turn on their driveway and it’s lined with beautiful trees all the way down to the beautiful home! The endless landscaping, flowers, trees, bushes not to mention sitting areas outside everywhere! The inside so spacious perfect for families! Not to worry about bedrooms or baths there is plenty! Outside swings and toys for kids, ping pong table, golf enthusiast can hit the balls right in the yard, foosball, hammock swings, lounges and so many patios and endless grills for bbq gatherings! Then there’s the pool house with a to die for kitchen and a huge pool my family was in complete vacation heaven! Oh let’s not forget the ocean is right in front, watch the sunrise come over it and know there is so much more that God has to offer! Deer running through the fields and endless fishing spots! The town offers shopping, eating, sight seeing and a way to get away from the craziness of being too busy! But also not so far you can’t hop over to VA beach or even Busch Gardens. This is a 10 on the list of homes we have stayed at and you won’t be disappointed either!!

Mixed Bag

Pros: Beautiful property and we had plenty of room for 16 adults and 3 children. Large yard, swings, bocce ball, pool, games, fire pit were really enjoyed. Host was quick to respond to all questions. Cons: Code for check in didn't work but luckily cleaning lady provided us with her code. Main floor master bedroom/bathroom had sewer smell during entire stay. Host said that septic had been recently treated;nothing could be done. I've lived in the country all my life.In my experience, the odor from a septic system usually indicates a problem. I've never experienced odor AFTER a septic system is treated as the waste has been removed. - Did not offer any discount on stay. Guests are expected to transport their trash to the landfill a mile away. I think a dumpster should be provided. Electrical concerns - cords around pool hanging; fuses in house needing to be reset. The area around the pool has many safety issues. Adult entering the pool area from the pool house sliced his toe open the very first day and was restricted from all beach activities during the trip. Should have the non-slip mats everywhere. Protrusions from the floors causing uneven surfaces should be padded to prevent injuries and identified with caution signs, cones, etc. BUGS! There are wonderful places to sit outside surrounding the house and at the pool house, but the FLIES and MOSQUITOES made it unbearable for about half the group. The other half kept the fire pit going and kept close to the smoke.

Group Getaway

The property was wonderful and just what we needed for our group. The location is gorgeous and we can't wait to come back when the weather is warmer so we can truly enjoy the outdoor space, as well!

Great vacation

Our family had such a wonderful vacation at this beautiful home and estate. We loved sitting on the large back porch enjoying the view and watching our grandkids playing sports on the huge back yard. We also absolutely loved the pool and large pool house. The kitchen in the pool house is amazing and a lovely place to cook and eat.The owners of this home have really stocked it well with everything you need to have a perfect time including pool towels, sports equipment and games. The house is furnished with plenty of comfortable couches and tables and chairs. It is really clean and beautifully decorated.The privacy of the estate is wonderful but you are close to a grocery store and Cape Charles is a wonderful town to explore.A wonderful place for a family vacation!Daphne

We enjoyed our stay in Cape Charles. The home was spacious, plenty of outdoor space, and privacy. We loved the fire pit outdoors, the grill, and extra space in pool house. Due to weather, the internet connection at the pool house wasn't working and didn't have access to the TV. The owners were quick to respond with questions and etc Definitely a place worth visiting again!

Perfect vacation home

We were impressed as we drove in with the trees on both sides of the long driveway and curb appeal of the house. Perfect place for our large group. All the adults and kids enjoyed the place thoroughly. Plenty of bedrooms and beds to accommodate everyone. House is clean, beds are clean and comfortable. Kitchen is fully equipped both in the house kitchen and pool house kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed the heated pool, pool house, outdoor space to play golf, volleyball or just to run around. The view of water and sunrise was beautiful. It was tricky to find all the switches at the pool house but the hosts were very responsive to answer the questions. Overall, this home was by far the best vacation home rental we had.

Wonderful retreat for friends

This was the perfect home for 5 couples to renew old friendships and celebrate New Years Eve. We spent most of our time in the pool house which has a full kitchen, big tv, fireplace, pool, foozball, and plenty of seating for all. The bedrooms were comfortable, clean and bathrooms were well appointed. We particularly appreciated the high quality cook ware, variety of cook ware options, and even great knives. Every thing was in good working order and beautiful! Even the weather cooperated so we were able to take advantage of the numerous outdoor amenities from swings to putting green to bocce ball to fire pit. And absolutely nothing can beat the sunrises, sunsets and view! We look forward to returning soon!

A relaxing weekend away

We wanted a relaxing weekend away and that’s exactly what we got. First off, the property and house are both amazing! The views are breathtaking- corn fields in the front, water in the back. Every morning we watched the sunrise over the water and every evening we watched the sunset over the cornfields. The house was stocked with every activity you could think of- the pool, Bocce (a family favorite), a swing your kids will fight over, golf, cornhole, and much more. The grounds were so fun to explore. We walked down to the water, over to the cornfields and found the ponds. We should have brought our fishing stuff (next time). The house was cozy, beds were great, and everything was clean. I did call the owner bc I had a bit of trouble with door lock and she was incredibly responsive and friendly. Cape Charles is just 5 miles away and we loved the quaint town. On Saturday mornings, they have a farmers market, so check that out. Also, get yourself some brown dog ice cream. So good. All in all, we were happy, and we are a picky bunch lol. We will be staying there again :)
