Summary:
Our lovely english basement apartment is located in the heart of Brookland`s eclectic college neighborhood, and is perfect for those hoping for a relaxing city experience. With private parking & easy access to public transportation (and all the major Washington D.C. sights, monuments and mall), we know guests will enjoy our home

The Space:
Parents and professors - the search stops here!  Our darling 2 bedroom/ 2 bath apartment is a stone`s throw from both Catholic University of America & Howard University, and boasts all the creature comforts from home.   

The apartment is set on the lower level of a classic Brookland bungalow house, with its own separate access and sprawls the entire square footage of the home, on one lower level.

It`s a light and bright open kitchen living area with plenty of room to spread out. We can sleep 6 guests comfortably with the following room / bed layout;

- Queen sized bed in the primary bedroom
- Queen sized bed in the second bedroom
- Sofa in the living room expands to sleep 2 guests.
- Full kitchen
- 2 full bathrooms (one is an en-suite to the primary bedroom, complete with a soaking tub).

While you have access to a full kitchen, the dining options in Bloomindale are excellent, so don`t miss out on some of those hotspots, and we of course love to share our recommendations!

Enjoy the shared patio area immediately outside the apartment.. There is also plenty of space to run in the shared backyard if you are bringing the kiddo`s! (Shared with owner in the main house but rarely used).

Everything is provided for your stay; strong wifi, TV with smart streaming, fluffy towels and linens, and all the supplies. We look forward to hosting you! Our home is ready to host up to 6 guest with this construction:

Guest Access:
The apartment entrance is located at the rear of the house. The apartment is not shared, and it is entirely yours to enjoy.

There is a family living upstairs. Please note that the everyday sounds and noises of family life (footsteps, stairs, kids playing, etc.) can be heard in both directions. You will undoubtedly hear them (and they will hear you) as they go about their everyday life.

The Neighborhood:
Brookland, lovingly referred to by the locals as ‘Little Italy`, is a leafy residential neighborhood home to the Franciscan Monastery (an oasis of peace, built in the 1800`s with beautiful gardens, great place to sit and relax), Catholic University and the largest Basilica in the US. It`s away from the hustle and bustle of the city while only 2 to 3 stops on the Metro from Union station, moments from downtown, the mall and monuments.
Murals line the Brookland sidewalks, providing an ever evolving backdrop - transforming the busy streets into colorful exhibitions. Enjoy the wonderful, artsy neighborhood with tons of great dining options!

Getting Around:
The metro is super close, Rhode Island Ave-Brentwood Metro only a 9 minute stroll from the home, and follows the Red line. 
The H8 bus can take you directly to the station in just over 5 minutes. Once you are on the train you are just 2 stops to Union station where you can walk to the Capitol building and down onto the Mall!! The Brookland metro which is surrounded by bars and restaurants is also close by, 18 mins on foot (runs the red line). The G8 bus can take you directly to the Brookland-CUA metro in 12.
Uber taxi`s are plentiful in the area as well, park and ride are also available at Rhode Island Metro station. 0.4 miles from the house.
