EXCELLENT LOCATION! Just a few minutes to walk to the beach/Zoo/Park, 3 minute drive to Blue Chip Casino, 5 minutes to Lighthouse Premium Outlet Mall, 15 minutes to Indiana Dunes National Park, and about an hour drive to Chicago or train ride.
This home is in a quiet, safe, beach neighborhood.

My family and I had a great stay at Dune Sky! We are a family with two kids, 13 and 10. Very quick walk to the beach, which has an incredible amount of soft sand. Ultimately, the place earned a five star review due to their service. We stayed at the end of July 2025 when the country had a "heat dome" with temperatures in the mid-90s from the south all the way to Michigan. The air-conditioning displayed a warning that it was no longer working properly. I sent a message through VRBO after 6:00p.m. and got a response within 10 minutes and after sharing information for a few minutes, we had a repair person at our door first thing in the morning (who was also very accommodating). THAT is how one earns a five star rating. Great location, great layout, and great service. Highly recommend.

Short drive for a real beach experience!

My kids don’t enjoy long car rides but can handle a 4 hour trip to be able to stay close and walk to the beach every day! The property was clean, management was helpful and friendly! We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!

Sisters Weekend--a Blast!

All four of us were pleased with our stay at Dune Sky. We were hesitant about the stairs but they weren't a problem at all. We didn't spend a lot of time in the duplex; we filled our days with walking the beach, going out to eat, wine tasting, dancing at Sonny's Speakeasy, and even riding the train at Hesston Steam Museum in LaPorte! We had so much fun playing cards and just talking and catching up in the time we did spend in the duplex. And having that second bathroom was a real plus! Dune Sky was the perfect location and place for us.

Long weekend in Michigan City

We had a great time at Dune Sky! The beach is a short walk away and so is the zoo! There is also a cute breakfast place within walking distance, which had great food and atmosphere. The apartment was perfect, we had two couples and our 1 year old baby. Thanks for having us!

Lovely vacation home close to everything.

The house was clean and roomy, the beds very comfortable. The washer & dryer made it convenient to wash cloths so that we could return home with clean laundry. Everything we wanted to do was near by. There was even a beach wagon available for us to use. There was plenty of hot water and pressure for us to use both showers at the same time AND run a hot bath!!! I'm looking forward to staying here again. :-)

Great girls getaway

Property was as described. Many little “extras” were included for convenience and were much appreciated. Had a minor problem with air conditioner ( of course evening hours), but was addressed immediately. Great location with easy access/commute to beaches, restaurants and shops. Would highly recommend this property and we will be back

Perfect location!

Such an easy walk to the park and the beach! And we really appreciated the wagon, 2 beach chairs, and umbrella... we used them everyday! The other reviews pointed out the problems with the couch and it is definitely weird, but we were forewarned. The only other suggestion I would make it to have some shelves, hooks, or a dresser in the bedrooms. You really cannot unpack unless you hang up every single item. The rooms are spacious, so there is plenty of room for a simple IKEA shelf unit. But the beds were comfortable and there were plenty of soft blankets to snuggle up with. Robin responded quickly to any questions we had and was very kind and helpful. We will definitely be back!!

Just what we needed

We loved our stay here. We walked to the beach, marina & zoo. Close to the Lighthouse Outlet Mall, Walmart & Antique Stores. We enjoyed eating at Matey’s Bar & Restaurant and Shoreline Brewery. We also did a boat tour through Harbor County Adventures. It was very relaxing & learned some interesting things.

Great location and very clean

This is a great place to stay for the weekend. The location is amazing (you can see glimpses of Lake Michigan out the window) and it was very clean and nice to be in. The ammenities are basic (i.e. think only overhead lighting in the living room, no lamps) and other reviews weren't lying that the couch cushions slide off when you're sitting on them, but overall would recommend this. Owner is super responsive, too.

Beach getaway

The property was exactly as advertised. We chose it for the king bed, which was very comfortable! Plenty of towels (beach towels too), 2 beach chairs and a wagon. Kitchen was fully loaded, we never wished for anything else to cook with. Bathrooms were great, and shampoo/conditioner/body wash was supplied! The grill was also great- we cooked on it most every night. Very short drive to the Blue Chip. Easy walk or drive to the lake. The loveseat wasn’t very comfortable- the cushions slide out from under you, but we made do. Overall, terrific place. We would definitely rent again!

Convenient stay!

We stayed here with our family and another family we were traveling with stayed in the property on the first level. It worked out so well. Everything was clean and it was easy to get anywhere in the area.

Perfect in every way!

What a wonderful unit with such a nice host. Very spacious and comfortable and super clean. Lovely deck with view of lake. Walking distance to park, zoo and beach. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Roomy & very clean house with comfortable beds. Quiet neighborhood. Close to the beach. The only issue was the door lock. It would take us several minutes to get the door to unlock every time we tried to enter.

Lovely, clean home, close to the beach

This was the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed in! The beds were comfortable. I would say, if there were any downsides, it would be that the property was sparsely furnished, which meant there wasn’t a lot of seating in the living room area to watch TV, but it worked for our family. It might not if you had more than 4. But really, that was pretty minor compared to the pluses of this property. The walk down to the beach was pretty short, which meant we were able to walk down anytime we wanted to, which allowed us to go in the evenings when it was less crowded and enjoy the sunsets and swimming. There was beach parking, for those who didn’t want to walk, but as far as we could tell, it was $15/day, so we just walked down. The property was quiet and the neighborhood was too. It was only a 15-20 minute drive to Indians Dunes National Park. We didn’t go to the zoo, but it was also very close. The lighthouse museum and pier were nearby and we were able to take advantage of fishing opportunities while there. Overall, our stay was lovely and I recommend this property.

Great little place!

We thought the house was great! Fully updated and clean. Just a short walk to the beach too. Restaurants we close and it was easy to find everything. Just a couple suggestions: a lamp in the living room would be nice (had to use the dining room light). Oh and new seating. The couch was very small, and the chairs are very uncomfortable. My husband is on the bigger side so things like that stick out more. Honestly though we enjoyed staying there, and really had no major issues!! Thanks so much!
