Clear Creek Cabin - Meredith Lodging

The views of Mt Hood are yours to enjoy at the Clear Creek Cabin, a spacious 3-level home on acreage. Enjoy the view of Mt Hood and the Mt Hood National Forest from the great room, decks and yard while you and your guests take in the calmness of the bubbling sounds of Clear Creek. Cook a fabulous feast in the kitchen with Mt Hood views. Walk out to the view deck to grill dinner on the gas BBQ, then gather around the propane firepit for the evening. This cozy cabin is located in a quiet, serene setting off the beaten path with views of Mt Hood and the Mt Hood National Forest. You will be close to Mt Hood National Forest trails for summer and winter fun. However, you may never want to leave this peaceful and relaxing cabin.

The main great room includes the kitchen and dining table where you can all gather while preparing meals and eating. This leads out to the mountain-viewing deck with the gas BBQ and outside dining area. The gas BBQ is located on the side deck off of the kitchen. If the weather doesn’t cooperate during your visit, there is a covered porch for your convenience.

You will find a game room with a card table and foosball table in the basement-level bedroom. There is a half bath just across the hall. The main level bedroom offers a king bed. There is a full bathroom with a walk-in tiled shower just across the hall from the bedroom. The loft en suite offers a view of stunning view of Mt Hood. There is a queen bed and sitting area.

Enjoy the backyard deck with the mountain views while you grill dinner on the gas BBQ and enjoy your meal at the outside dining table. Enjoy sharing your tales of the day's adventures while you sit around the firepit as the sun sets on Mt Hood. Your dog is welcome to join you at the Clear Creek Cabin for an additional charge.

This property has no views of the mountain or the creek. The downstairs carpet is urine and feces stained as well as moldy, and rodent damage and droppings are abundant. The kitchenware was a motley collection of donation bin rejects including rust and peeling Teflon. The host did not send specific directions to the property and there is no signal in the valley by the cabin. The musty and dank smell of the carpet is overwhelming when you go in the main entrance by the lower bedroom. We could only use two of the six beds advertised. The host did not resolve my concerns and refused to refund my money when we left early after two days of trying to resolve the problems. Altogether disgusting business and disgusting cabin.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm very sorry your stay fell short of expectations. The great room does look out onto Mt Hood, but it's possible that the weather during your stay prevented some visibility. We also did let you know that the single stain on the lower-level carpet is an older paint stain from a past project. The carpets do get professionally cleaned regularly, but unfortunately the stain has not come out. We understand how this could have been mistaken for a pet stain, and we apologize for the confusion. We will do a full kitchen supply audit and work to add better driving directions for future guests. Housekeeping has not identified any signs of rodents but will keep a very close eye on this in future cleans. Thank you again for calling your concerns to our attention — your comments help us improve.

It was a very nice and relaxing place to stay. The property is surrounded by forest, very quiet, private, and hidden away. During the late summer season, we couldn’t see Mt. Hood from the patio, but we could see it from inside the loft, which was beautiful.The inside is spacious with plenty of room to walk around, and the showers were awesome! We also enjoyed the BBQ and the peaceful surroundings. Overall, we felt completely relaxed during our stay.There are a few things that could use more attention. The property needs a deeper cleaning, especially the cobwebs inside and outside and some dusty areas. When we first entered, there was an odor that could have been freshened up. The patio heating lamp did not work and appeared to be broken and different from what is shown in the photos. The propane tank was also empty and should have been taken care of before arrival.Some outdoor areas could also use maintenance, especially mowing down the tall grass. The pictures make the property look wonderful, and it really does have a lot of potential, but it could use some upkeep and refreshing to better match the photos.Even with these issues, we really enjoyed the peaceful forest setting, the privacy, and the relaxing atmosphere. With a little more cleaning and maintenance, this could be an excellent getaway.

Hood, the spacious interior, the showers, and the BBQ — I'm so glad those features added to your experience. I’m sorry the cleaning, initial odor, and some outdoor upkeep fell short of expectations. That isn’t the standard we hold. We’ve scheduled a deep clean to remove cobwebs and dust and will have our team check for any lingering odors before arrivals. The patio heater will be inspected and repaired or replaced as needed, propane tanks will be confirmed full prior to guest stays, and grounds maintenance (including mowing) is being arranged. Thank you again for the constructive feedback — it will help us make meaningful improvements.

This cabin is beautiful and the views/location exactly what we were looking for. Quiet area, gorgeous sunrises, comfortable space.The game room/smaller bedroom was a bit musty- but but was much better if you emptied out the dehumidifier that was running when we got there. It was quite humid, so we were emptying it about every 8-10 hours. (super easy).We used the bed in the loft area- best view in the morning-and it was comfy. It was a very pleasant stay and I would stay here again given the opportunity.

Just what I was looking for in regards to secluded, and private. The house is very cool, and roomy. No air conditioning, so bring your own fans if your going in the summer. The basement room was very moist, and musty smelling, but spacious. The beds, and pillows were very comfortable. The big windows in the house have no curtains so you are visible in the house in every room except the bahrooms, basement, and the room with the Kind sized bed. You have to use wifi to call out on social media apps. Sometimes service would come through. Forest all around, with some homes nearby, but we never saw another human just walking around ourside of the house. The creek is pretty as well. Bring flashlights because they are needed if you plan on going outside at night. I will defintley be going back.

Needs work

The location of the house is lovely and we loved sitting out on the deck. Now, when we first entered the house, we were hit with a strong musty, mildew smell. It was very strong. It was coming from the game room with multiple beds. We avoided that area. The loft bed was comfortable but the main floor bedroom needs a new mattress. It was lumpy and uncomfortable. It is an older house with quirky features, but that was charming.

We really enjoyed the house and the way everything was laid out. The windows and upstairs loft was beautiful. Two big issues we had while staying there was the check in instructions (including the property address), and the checkout instructions, were never sent. This caused problems as I had flown across the county for this specific trip and met with a group of friends to stay at this cabin, and we drove out in faith that the booking was real and wouldn’t cancel before we were able to reach VRBO support. I did not receive a response from the host when I messaged. Luckily, I was able to call VRBO support and obtain the address 2 hours before check in. We drove 3 hours in the general direction before getting the address sent to us. I would have given 5 stars, however this caused a lot of problems for us. We also didn’t receive checkout instructions at any point during the stay, even after writing two times asking for them from the host. We eventually got check out instructions the morning of, but they were copy-pasted from a generic template and did not match the signs they had tapped inside the house regarding laundry duties, etc. The living room furniture was very comfy. I would recommend perhaps hiring a different management company to oversee this property so our experience isn’t repeated with more guests.

We always make sure guests get their link to the guest portal a ways out, so they can access this information and plan accordingly. But thank you for letting us know you missed that email on the day of your arrival, as we were able to text you the info you needed before check in. Worst I’ve ever rented culminating in finding rodent poop throughout the downstairs bedroom - tried to work with the management company who choose to require I put it in writing and then did not respond to me (said they would respond in 5-7 days- it’s been over two weeks with no response even with follow up).House is not maintained. We arrived to house with so few lights working the main bath wasn’t usable nor the exterior stairs until we spent hours finding and putting in bulbs - to find the main bath had a dirty shower, and a vanity with two of three panels installed with broken hinges, such that it fell on my child. Chairs that fell apart when used (only reason we didn’t fully break them was that I knocked the unglued wood chairs back together). So we’d already hated this experience before I went to set the boys up for bed the last night (they got terrified the night before by sounds so had moved up to the couches) and discovered mouse poop on the upper bunk bed and then realized it was everywhere! It wasn’t until I went to take photos of it I found an unplugged rodent deterrent device in the room — so they knew they had a problem and did not maintain a deterrent or indicate they had a rodent issue (bears they tell you about but not the residents of the basement). There’s spiders everywhere, the tiny bit of view is sort of visible from the driveway (twenty years ago they could claim a view), screens are missing in key places like the upstairs bath which has no fan.

Smelly, no views

This property DOES NOT have views of mount hood or any streams/creeks/rivers as listed. We did not get directions on how to get there and the road it's on doesn't exist so it took about an hour of trying to guess where it might be with no signal. We drove down a long gravel road with signs saying no trespassing, residents only, properties being monitored, dead end, 10mph max, don't kick up dust, etc, and finally found the "road" of the address. This moss-encrusted house hides in the trees with no view of anything. No sunlight touched it. Once inside, it smells!! Mold, decaying structure, and wet dog smells. No updates or remodeling since probably the 80s. The front deck it metal, rusty, used-to-be-painted(?). The listing agency posted HDR photos that make the inside look MUCH better lit than it is. They also make it look more spacious. We didn't stay and had to press the hosting compang to help us find another place on short notice. This place is absolutely, in no way, worth the going rate. Not for the area, not anywhere. It takes 10 minutes to get down the gravel road and then another 25 to get to government camp in good conditions, so if you're trying to see anywhere outside of the cabin it's not convenient because there isn't much going on nearby other than a few hiking trails.
