Riverside Retreat of Mavillette

Take it easy at this tranquil riverside getaway. Although it is attached to the main house it is a self contained, open concept unit. Relax on the back deck to watch the birds and look for deer. Two sit on kayaks are available to use and there is a great fire pit for enjoying quiet evenings under the stars. 1km to Nova Scotia famous Mavillette beach. The river in the back yard is great for swimming and leads right through the wetlands to the Ocean. Equipped with a mini fridge, hot plate, microwave/convection oven, toaster and bbq and all kitchen essentials.

My stay at this place was nothing short of spectacular! The house is in great shape inside and out. Lee is an excellent host and very accommodating (even upon my late arrival), he had everything well laid out inside the property as well as outside of it.The kitchen is well furnished with all your cooking utensils available, as well as plenty of garbage/recycling/compost bags ready when needed. Although there is no stove/oven however, there is a dual hot element plate and air fryer that's available as well as the BBQ, which I mainly used during my stay.Everything that you need for food prep (utensils, condiments, etc) in the kitchen and toiletries in the bathroom/shower is all nicely laid out and organized.The dining table set is nicely laid out between the bed and the TV/couch and kitchen areas without taking up too much room. The Smart TV and love seat area has board games and books and travel pamphlets of the Mavilette/Clare area for playing or reading if it's a rainy day out or if you just want to chill for a bit. There is ample closet room for your clothes or baggage storage that is nearly tucked away near the table.The backyard is nearly trimmed and well kempt, there is a firepit available for those evening fires (when there are no fire bans in place, of course) and there is a pathway to the nearby creek where there are kayaks or paddleboards available for day use.I will definitely come back here again next time I'm back in Nova Scotia! This place is a gem!

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay. Lee was so kind, helpful, and easy to communicate with. He made us feel very welcome with our big dog and not at all a bother. The accommodation is well cared for and had everything we needed. Super close to a beautiful beach. And to top it off we were able to enjoy the kayaks that Lee offered. I would highly recommend.

The backyard and path to the river were nice, very picturesque. The riverside dock is a wonderful spot to sit and relax, have your morning coffee or sip a drink in the evening. Lots of space in the apartment for four people. Kitchen was well stocked, the coffee was good.

We loved our stay here! Beautiful big back yard with trail going back to the water! Great space for our dogs! Our space was cozy, clean and well equipped with everything we needed! Definitely recommend and will be back!

Close to Mavilette Beach

We were greeted by Lee on arrival and shown to our home for the weekend. Nice clean studio type apartment with lots of amenities. Comfortable bed, and nice powerful shower. Pet friendly too which was a bonus Mavilette Beach is just a 3 minute drive away.

Two glorious weeks in Mavillette

Friendly and helpful host. Great location… quiet and picturesque… 2 minutes from the most beautiful beach… 20 minutes from Yarmouth and 60 from Digby… close to all amenities… including great golf. Accommodations clean and spacious. Great value!!!

Funky Smell

The host was super nice so I feel bad writing this but I have to. The room we stayed in was super nice but there was a funky smell everywhere: towels, sheets, pillowcases, in the air. My girlfriend described it as pond water. It lingered on our clothes and bodies for a day afterward. The water also tasted a little funny.

Amazing stay!

This was a perfect end to our trip in Nova Scotia. Lovely place, exactly as described. Loved using the kayaks for a relaxing evening paddle.
