Beachwood – Pet & Family-Friendly Beachfront Getaway

Beachwood is the perfect coastal escape — pet- and family-friendly, with direct beach access just across the road. You’re only minutes from Goolwa Beach, the Surf Lifesaving Club, and the popular Kuti Shack café. Cosy, spacious, and unpretentious, Beachwood is ideal for relaxed family holidays or peaceful couples’ getaways.

Set in a tranquil location surrounded by native bush and sand dunes, you’ll fall asleep to the sound of the ocean and gaze up at the stars, all while being close to the shops, cafes, and conveniences of Goolwa. Linen and Wi-Fi are included for a fuss-free stay.

The Space

Enjoy 200 sqm of comfortable living space with an open-plan kitchen/living/dining area featuring a dishwasher, oven, pod coffee machine, extendable dining table, smart TV (with Netflix), Bluetooth sound system, reverse-cycle heating/cooling, and a variety of board games and toys.

There are 4 large bedrooms, easily accommodating up to 10 guests (great for 2–3 families):
• Bedroom 1: King bed with ensuite
• Bedrooms 2 & 3: Each with a Queen bed
• Bedroom 4: Two sets of bunk beds, perfect for kids

A family-friendly three-way bathroom includes a bathtub, separate toilet, and large vanity. All bedrooms include ample hanging and drawer space. There’s also a separate laundry with washing machine and dryer.

The entire property is yours to enjoy. Please note: for bookings of 6 guests or fewer, the bunk room will be locked unless requested ($40 fee for opening for 6 guests and less).

• One dog per booking is welcome (sorry, no dogs on furniture or beds). Dog bowls are provided — please bring your own dog bed
• Fire pit available in winter — please clean after use and dispose of ash in the green bin

• Electric blankets provided in winter (except for bunk room) — please switch off when not in use for safety
• Security camera is located at the front of the house, monitoring the driveway for safety during your stay

Thank you Tania, me and my family of three teenagers had a lovely relaxing break. Your home was in a great location to beach and Kuta Shack. The dog was happy and secure in the yard. Well stocked kitchen and puzzles, books and games available. It was easy to communicate with Tania and was always happy to answer questions. Great place for family holiday.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Property was ideal for a family group, the booking instructions were easy to follow. The property has a great range of facilities including cooking options, nice outdoor areas and a great range of games, toys and activities for all age groups. The property was wonderfully presented the bedding arrangement is great for multiple adults and children. Would highly recommend and look forward to coming back again.

A hidden jem at Goolwa Beach

A great home with everything you need. Comfortable and tastefully fitted out. Located in a quiet and unique spot on the edge of suburbia with the beach at your front door. Great fishing and surfing at one of the States best beaches, clean and spacious. All the amenities of civilisation a couple of minutes up the road with a great range of supermarkets, restaurants, galleries and specialty shops. All that as well as a great farmers market. Unlike some of our states historic towns, Goolwa has managed to keep that authentic charm and scale. A must stay place that deserves a spot on your bucket list.

Beach escape

This is an absolutely amazing property, ideally located just across the sand dune from the beautiful Goolwa Beach. It offers plenty of space, with a wonderfully open plan design that includes a spacious kitchen, dining area, and a cozy TV room. The layout was perfect for our group, providing ample room for everyone to relax and enjoy. The back yard was also a fantastic size, especially for our dog, and we were happy to find that the fencing was escape-proof – no worries about our furry friend wandering off!We had such a great experience and would love to stay here again. In fact, we’re already planning our next trip, and we’re thinking of coming back in the winter so we can make full use of the fire pit – it’ll be perfect for those chilly evenings. A big thank you for such a wonderful stay, and we can’t wait to return!Alex

Goolwa is full of great things to see and do. Enjoy fantastic eateries on Cadell Street and along the river, explore the historic wharf precinct, or visit the local markets on Sundays. Watch seals play at the Barrage, let the kids run wild at the riverside nature playgrounds, and enjoy a gin tasting at the local distillery.

Take a scenic boat ride on the Murray or into the Coorong, grab fish and chips by the Murray Mouth at the Coorong Café, or ride the historic Cockle Train to Victor Harbor. Browse local galleries, shops, and antique stores, or play a round at the Goolwa Golf Course. The Goolwa Animal Farm is perfect for young families, and there’s no shortage of outdoor fun — from whale watching in winter to fishing, boating, and water sports.

Tucked behind the natural sand dunes of Goolwa Beach and surrounded by native scrub, our beach house offers the perfect mix of peace, privacy, and convenience. Just across the road, two charming dune paths lead you directly to the beach — ideal for families, pets, or anyone who loves a coastal walk or sunrise swim.

The area is rich in natural beauty and cultural history. As you wander the dune trails, keep an eye out for ancient “middens,” a nod to the deep connection the Ngarrindjeri people have with this land.

Start your day with a fresh espresso on the front deck as you listen to the ocean and watch native birdlife, or take a short walk to the popular Kuti Shack for breakfast. Goolwa Beach is a great surf spot for beginners, with lessons and board hire available right at the Surf Lifesaving Club. For a fun family activity, grab a cockle net and collect cockles from the beach just steps away — then cook them up that night, or try the local chilli jam cockles at Kuti Shack.

Feeling adventurous? Drive your 4WD along the beach all the way to the Murray Mouth, or hop on your bikes and explore the Encounter Bikeway, which passes right in front of the house.
