Alkira Lodge on Orange is the best in Parkes
Alkira Lodge on Orange is a gorgeous heritage style bungalow house built in the early 1900's it has been beautifully restored and boasts the heritage integrity as well as the more modern requirements of living today. We have thoughtfully chosen furniture to complement the era and hope you enjoy both the aesthetics of the home and the practical amenities it offers.
Enjoy a short stroll down Orange Street to access all you needs for your stay. Our home caters for 10 as couples but 6 singles. Our property has a great backyard with a Pizza oven, BBQ and outdoor fire pit all complimented by a manicured garden.
The Space: 3 generous bedrooms - Main House and a 1 bedroom Annexe Suite with en-suite which is a separate space from the main house. This may be rented as a separate rental to the main house and is perfect for a single guest or a couple. Please contact the host for pricing.
The MAIN HOUSE
This beautiful Californian Bungalow has exquisite high ceilings and ceiling roses, large timber windows,amazing lead light windows, and doors. With a mix of carpet and timber floors throughout. The house is surrounded by beautiful, manicured gardens, BBQ patio, with a plumbed BBQ and a Pizza Oven and a usable front veranda with chairs and a dining table.
As you enter the home the kitchen is modern and well appointed, with a six burner cooktop and oven, double door fridge, dishwasher, and microwave with everything you will need to make your stay enjoyable. We offer all that you may need with the basic kitchen tools to whip up a meal. We also supply basic condiments, along with coffee pods,tea, hot chocolate. The Kitchen opens out to a dining room where you can enjoy both casual and formal dining. Attached to the dining room is our library room which has its own tv, books and games.
We offer a large flat screen tv with Fetch in the main lounge, as well as 3 other tv’s. We have recently installed the NBN and wifi is available.
Our living area is a generous size and can easily seat family groups, we have added our touches to reflect the homes era and selected pieces that can be enjoyed.
A modern bathroom is shared between 3 well-appointed bedrooms. The main bathroom has underfloor heating and boasts a beautiful hot shower with amenities provided. We provide plenty of towels for your visit.
The 3 bedrooms of the main house consist of the (Victoria Suite - king bed), the (Charlotte Suite - queen bed) as well as our family Kate Suite offering 1 queen bed and an additional walk-through sun room which houses a set of bunks with a double bed and single bunk (which can accommodate another 2 adults or 2/3 children.
The house is heated/cooled by a ducted heat/ air conditioning unit in the main house. We also have smoke alarms and fire blankets, fire extinguishers and a fire plan, lock box entry to the main house with keys to access the main home and the Elizabeth Annexe Room, with a monitored outdoor security system for the entire property.
Outside enjoy the spacious terrace veranda and enjoy the wide country street and the gorgeous views on offer. You can exit onto the front veranda from our Victoria and Charlotte Suites to enjoy your morning coffee/breakfast or enjoy the patio BBQ area, fire pit and pizza oven, in our generous back yard.
Car Parking is easy under the carport or park in the driveway or out the front.
* Please note that the Elizabeth Annexe Suite has the laundry facility and the laundry facility would not be available if the Suite is rented externally from your booking. This does not apply if you have rented the whole house.
The Elizabeth ANNEXE SUITE
The final room is our Elizabeth Annexe Suite which boasts a queen size bed, small sitting area, Flat screen television, wi fi and fetch. A coffee station, which has a generous supply of amenities.
Its own ensuite bathroom and this is where our laundry is. We offer both washing machine and dryer in this space. This room also has a split system heating/cooling and we have included a fire blanket and fire extinguisher. As this room is a separate entity from the main house, you may enter and leave the property without disturbing any other guests. Outdoor use for this suite is the undercover Patio with shared BBQ/Pizza use under mutual sharing if other guests reside in the house.
Car Parking for the Annexe Suite is strictly street parking only. If the main house is not occupied guests may use the carport.
OUT AND ABOUT
Clarinda Street is the main shopping centre for Parkes it is within walking distance but is also only a short drive away. Main supermarkets available: Coles,Woolworths, Aldi and Big W, with an array of boutique shops and restaurants. The Services Club and the Leagues Club are situated close or on Clarinda Street and the famous Cooke Park which host the Parkes Elvis Festival each January. The showgrounds plays host to the Parkes Show in August and the famous Dish is also located in Parkes and is a half an hour journey to visit. If you want to explore further
Dubbo Zoo is a couple of hours away, along with wineries and other sites that surround. We love Parkes and all that it has to offer.

We love Elvis, so we came to a festival many years ago and discovered Parkes. Parkes is a great country town and we feel in love with the wide streets and unique properties.
