The pet friendly cottage has a large, screened porch and deck. There are 2 window-unit air conditioners in the dining area & main bedroom with ceiling fans in the bedrooms. Lots of amenities. Nestle in at this adorable cabin . Call Stepaway Vacation Rentals!
Finley Lake is 108 acres in size. It is approximately 26 feet deep at its deepest point. Anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including Bluegill and Largemouth Bass. Crystal clear water makes Finley Lake one of the best for swimming. The cabin is located on a private lake with no boat landing access. Peaceful and quite, relax at the lake!
Hiking and Biking enthusiasts will enjoy St. Germain’s Bike & Hike Trail, a 12.5-mile loop that runs through the towns of St. Germain and Eagle River. The trail offers a variety of terrain suitable for all levels and the trail head is easily accessible from the cabin. St. Germain and Eagle River also offer a variety of dining and shopping options.

We enjoyed the cabin and the incredible view of the lake. Using the kayaks was great. My dog enjoyed all the swimming from shore. The boat was filled with water so we did not use it. Did not catch any fish but saw much other wildlife. Would come back again.

Place was clean, cute, and all we needed for a little getaway. We enjoyed the water frontage and used the boat quite a bit. Beautiful location. Quiet lake. Lots of wildlife. Would stay again!

Beautiful Location, Mediocre Accommodations

The lake, views, and location were perfect, the cabin was not what we had expected. The listing states it sleeps 6, however there was NO bedding for either of the couches. We had to go purchase sleeping bags and pillows. It also appeared the otdoor areas were only set up for four as well, there were only four chairs on the deck and four chairs by the firepit. When the listing says six, I would assume six of everything would be available (bedding accommodations at a minimum).The cabin overall was NOT clean upon arrival; the kitchen table had crumbs all over, the coffe pot was half full from previous stay (mold growing on the used coffe grounds within the machine), the couch covers were full of woodchips, hair, dander, and when I pulled the bedding off on our last day (as requested in the binder) there were stains on the mattress pad that were clearly unwashed from the previous user. We were thoroughly unimpressed.I had set a message to the listing owner prior to our stay regarding queations about what is provided/not provided to better pack. The information given was NOT correct, making my packing incomplete. Again requiring unnecessary purchases at the local Walmart. While the lake was beautiful and the views were excellent, we were incredibly disappointed in the condition/cleanliness of the cabin, the poor description/communication given, and lack of necessary items to accommodate six (which the listing clealy states it does).

Nice lake

The lake was on the smaller side but it was perfect for our trip. Very clean and super quiet. The cabin is good size for 2 couples. Beds are on the firm side and water comes from a well so has rust smell. Overall we really enjoyed the 3 season room, boat and paddle board. We do feel relaxed.

Perfect Getaway

Our family needed a little getaway and Eagle Watch was able to accommodate our last minute request. Cute cabin with awesome frontage on Finley lake was perfect for the kids to swim - they loved jumping off the end of the pier! Fishing was hit or miss, but we did catch some 12”+ largemouth. Overall great stay, and I would recommend to anybody looking for a relaxing stay in the northwoods! We will be back!

Eagles Watch

The view was The best part of this VRBO. The proximity to the road and the neighbor was a little too close for us. However, the road noise was minimal! There needs to be instructions on how to operate the TVs. We were never able to figure out the how the bedroom TV worked. The cabin was clean and had that 50’s nostalgia with some updates. One suggestion would be to move the fire pit to the lakeside which would involve leveling the area, but it would be more picturesque, rather than seeing the road or the neighbor. We had a restful stay because it was a quiet and beautiful. A real up North experience!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cute little cabin. The 3 season room was really nice. The view was amazing. The downfall was the spider infestation. I think we killed almost 30 spiders in the cabin. They were everywhere. In the sink, on the couch. One fell on me when I took the cushions off the couch. You pay that much money there shouldn't be that big of an issue. The deck was so thick with spiderweb we didn't even use it. The boat was really nice to have. We enjoyed the kayaks. With that big of a spider problem we won't return. The kids were on edge with so many spiders inside.

Fantastic Family Vacation

We had a wonderful time at Toad Hill Cabin. We spent most of our time around the campfire or in the water. We caught an abundance of fish…even a Northern! and checked out many of the towns and shops nearby. The wildlife there was the best, we were greeted daily by deer, loons and woodpeckers. We look forward to coming back again next year.

Warm summer stay.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a very nice stay at Toad Hill. The property is conveniently located near St. Germain where you can access the convenience of nearby shops, restaurants and grocer. Other nice destinations such as Boulder Junction and Eagle River are a short hop from the cabin. The views of the lake and the wildlife in the area including eagles nesting nearby is a plus. Access to the bike trail is just up the road and a major plus for us as this is one of the major reasons we selected this property.No reasonable review can be without a few warts. The property was generally clean but we found a few items that the cleaning crew should have been more attentive to including a clump of hair on the bathroom floor, a gummy candy on the floor in the living room, some white goo that had the silverwear all stuck together which we cleaned up, and an excess of cobwebs on the deck and outdoor furniture. This might sound a bit too picky but since we are charged a cleaning fee it would have been nice not to have to deal with these inconveniences. We were not all that enthused by the 8:30AM checkout time. We still recommend this property as it is in a beautiful locationand easily accessible.

House is very quant and in a private setting with all amenities included both inside and out. Our family enjoyed the dock and included boats and kayaks. House is a short drive to many restaurants. Cozy getaway

We enjoyed the views from the deck and the fishing. Great lake for fishing! Watching the loons fish was fun as well. The area is beautiful. You can always find something to do when you're not just relaxing, but that's fun too!

Perfect setup

I was reluctant to book this cottage based on reviews. Evidently there are new owners. The property is “old Wisconsin “, no 3 prong outlets, linoleum flooring, etc. but, so cute and clean as can be. Fishing boat with motor, firewood, kayaks, paddle board, beautiful dock, clean water, no weeds, plenty of fish in the lake, and great view. I guess we can’t say enough about this cute little cottage. Rental company so easy to deal with. A perfect 4 day getaway! Thank you!

Great Getaway
