A chic space with Mt Gibralter as your backdrop, set in a garden full of birdlife and the occasional wallaby. We offer private accommodation, with own entry through a shared garden, sitting room with a good selection of books and mags, Wifi and Bluetooth, kitchenette with a dining space, 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Very close to main wedding venues eg Bendooley Estate and Centennial Vineyards. Walking distance to Bowral, and close to Mittagong .

The space
The property contains 2 bedrooms: a queen sized bed, and 2 king singles in the second bedroom. Being self contained, it also contains a guest bathroom, separate sitting room looking into the garden,and small kitchen with dining area. Please note that when 2 guests wish to use both bedrooms for a one night stay we add an extra $50.00 to the fee. We provide quality linen, fresh local produce for breakfast with espresso coffee and tea, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and radio - all set within a charming space surrounded by contemporary original artwork.

Situated at the base of Mount Gibraltar with access to trails from the garden, this property offers a relaxed atmosphere in a secluded garden setting, which guests are encouraged to use. Located in a secluded part of Bowral, within easy walking distance to shops and cafes, this quiet country property provides you with a modern rustic charm that is sure to help you unwind and forget the stress of modern city life.

Guest access
I will send driving instructions closer to your arrival date .There is a small gravel path to the accommodation. The property adjoins Mt Gibraltar Reserve and guests can access the trails via the garden, and we encourage our guests to enjoy the garden and natural bird life.
We provide breakfast foods.
Guests can access a washing machine and dryer upon request.
We also have a collection of books on the local area and can recommend several wineries, walks, lookouts, picnic spots and local attractions.
Other things to note
Check out time is 10.00, but can be a bit flexible with prior arrangement.

Fiona and Graham were very welcoming and left us some nice breakfast supplies. The apartment is small but worked well for us as we need two bedrooms. The heater worked well which was good because it was unseasonally chilly. The tv was good with Netflix and there were many books and games to keep us entertained. The situation is very quiet & while it's in the bush it's only 5 minutes drive from Bowral centre. The fittings are basic but adequate and considering it's two bedrooms the price was excellent - very reasonable.

The studio was comfortable, clean, private, with all the amenities you could wish for. We were only there for one night so didnt get for a walk to national park. It really was a little far from Bowral if you wanted to walk but that didnt matter for our purposes. Lovely little touches with fresh flowers, fresh bread and breakfast choices. We loved it

Everything we needed was there and Fiona had left tasteful extras like fruit, bread, cereal and biscuits.We didn't have time to explore the national park as we visited a relative in palliative care and other relatives.

The studio is compact but readily accommodated 2 boys (8 and 10) and immersed us in a lush bush setting whilst being a 2 minute drive to town. It's interior is cozy with wonderful art and the garden is so serene we loved reading in the shade. A very restful place to relax. The kitchenette is microwave only so plan on dining out for dinner but fine for breakfast to microwave porridge, toast and coffee. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately the message with directions didn't come through and the GPS took us a different way. The host was very helpful and patient as this is obviously an ongoing issue. The accommodation was so comfortable and had all we needed. As regards possible improvements it did say something about "fresh produce for breakfast". This was a little misleading as that brought to mind milk and maybe eggs. There was indeed two cereal choices tucked away, a loaf of fresh bread and a tiny carton of long life milk. A suggestion would be to ask guests what they might like made available from a short list?All in all though it was a beautiful location, comfortable, clean accommodation with a respectful host which we would definitely book another time.

We absolutely loved everything about this guest studio. Fiona and Graham are such a lovely couple — friendly and helpful with little tips when needed, yet respectful of our privacy so we could enjoy the retreat in complete comfort. I have to agree with other reviewers: the studio is even better in person than it looks in the photos on Stayz. If the weather is clear, don’t miss stepping outside at night to take in the incredible starry sky — it was truly magical. I only wish we had stayed longer to enjoy more of the beautiful surroundings!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. While it was small, it had everything we needed and we felt very warm and cosy despite the extremely wet weather. The bedrooms and the lounge room were a great size for usI didn't realise it was a free standing self contained unit, so we were pleasantly surprised. We could park our car close to the front door and dash through the rain to our very warm home. It's beautifully decorated and was a comfortable stay for my dad, my son and I for the weekend. Thank you for having us!

Loved the quiet solitude.

Couldn’t have asked for better accommodation. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, with climatic conditions, warm and cosy. Loved the garden surrounds; the marked walking trails. The only downside was the loose seat on one of the dining chairs! Jenny said ‘Thank you’ for the books.

A truly lovely break away.

Woodland Retreat is exactly that - a lovely, very well appointed, cosy little bungalow in a wonderful location close to all the good things that the Southern Highlands has to offer. Amazing value, with two separate rooms for two singles travelling - not always easy to find. It sits in the most lovely, peaceful garden. The hosts are so helpful and friendly. I can't recommend this place highly enough.
