This custom-built water access only cottage is set up perfectly for 2 families to share and includes 4 bedrooms and 3 full washrooms. Enjoy private bedroom suites with bar fridges, lounges and private decks. Enjoy a beautiful chef's kitchen, dining area, great room and 1,500 sq.ft. deck with hot tub overlooking 500 feet of pristine shoreline. Beautiful lake house with every detail you could ever want. It was the prefect fit for our family with lots of space, privacy, well stocked kitchen and a great outdoor space. Beach area for the kids and great swimming area off the dock. Matt was a great host. Very welcoming and responsive.

What a fantastic place to stay for a family vacation. The lakehouse was even nicer than the pictures. Our host Matt was very responsive and the location on Georgian Bay was superb. We highly recommend this place.

A great cottage, location & host to help experience the fun and beauty of Georgian Bay. 7 night family stay in early July. Cottage was exactly as pictured/described. Well located, clean, spacious and a very comfortable home and property. Matt as the host was super responsive & very helpful from start to finish.

Family Reunion in luxury on Georgian Bay

Our arrival was well organized, even though the cottage is on an island, it all went quite smoothly. Our hosts were extremely responsive to all of our communication pre-trip, including suggestions and recommendations on where to shop on our way up to Honey Harbour. The cottage and property itself are beautiful. Located on Royal Island, it’s just a quick 10 minute boat ride from the marina we chose to use. Being on the waterfront was a priority, and the frontage and exposure of the cottage is excellent. Sandy beach, lovely sunsets, nice and breezy to keep the bugs away too! The cottage is very well built, designed, and furnished. There truly wasn’t anything we could complain about - everything you need is there in terms of kitchen supplies, linens, towels, etc. The kitchen is amazing, very much the hub of the building and designed that way. Bedrooms were all very spacious and comfortable. Lots of decking to use and spread out on. Great hot tub as well. Swimming was good down at the dock where there is a proper ladder. A few memorable nights were spent at the fire pit close to the shoreline - firewood included! Having our own boat was a bonus as there is so much to explore in the area. The hosts also have a boat they can rent - highly recommend if only for a day tour of the many islands and bays in proximity to the cottage. All of us throughly enjoyed our time at Driftaway and are looking forward to returning again next year!

Beautiful abode on an island

We were warmly welcomed at the Marina and given a bit of history about the surrounding area on the way to the island. The grounds surrounding the cottage provided ample activities for our family, including a sandy beach, walk in access to the water, fishing, kayaking and paddle boating. The modern Lakehouse is meticulously designed with all of the things you need to make your stay an outstanding experience. I would highly recommend and will certainly be back.

Unwind in Style at Drift Away Lake House: Your Ultimate Retreat in Honey Harbour

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this spacious modern cottage rental in Honey Harbour, Ontario and I must say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The cottage boasts 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, making it perfect for a large group or family getaway. One of the highlights of the rental is its waterfront location with a dock and stunning views of the lake. The cottage is situated on an island, providing a sense of privacy and tranquility that is hard to come by. The hot tub overlooking the water was a definite bonus and added a touch of luxury to our stay. The interior of the cottage is beautifully decorated and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The open concept layout allowed for plenty of space for everyone to relax and unwind. The bedrooms were cozy and the bathrooms were clean and modern. In addition to the amenities of the cottage, we also enjoyed the convenience of being close to restaurants and a boater’s playground. We were able to easily explore the surrounding area on the provided pontoon boat and try out some delicious local cuisine. Overall, our stay at this modern cottage rental was truly unforgettable. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and luxurious getaway in Honey Harbour. Matt and Heather were helpful and attentive. They made the planning process easy and added a personal touch to our stay. We would gladly book with them again in the future.

Island life really is the best life!

Diftaway is truly a remarkable place! Not sure what was more spectacular, the property/views or the cottage itself. The experience starts right when you arrive as you get to enjoy a boat ride to your island destination. We didn’t have the “ideal” weather conditions but that didn’t stop us from having a blast and making memories. We built sand castles on the beach (sand toys provided by host), went fishing off the dock (rods provided by host, worms brought by us), had a hot tub in the rain and ended our day roasting marshmallows by the fire (ample pre-cut firewood onsite). This cottage has every imaginable amenity and more. There was not a time we felt like we needed to leave. The hosts have thought of everything. From all your kitchen and cocktail necessities to a pullout booze fridge right off the deck! They even have a hot/cold outdoor tap to wash your sandy toes. Our family getaway couldn’t have been more perfect. Matt and Heather were superb hosts and made sure traveling with our group of 6; 4 adults, a 5 year old and an 8 month old baby was easy and stress free. We can’t wait to visit Driftaway again soon!

Beautiful! Absolute Perfection!

We had the most relaxing and fun stay at Driftaway! The owners, Matt and Heather, were so quick to respond and so helpful. The lake is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful views from every angle. We had the most amazing sunsets on the beach. Our kids had a great time wading in the water and jumping off the dock. The open floor plan kitchen/living room was great to keep the family together. We ate all our meals on the deck and sat around the outdoor fireplace on the deck at night. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need to cook with. The internet connection was great. We cannot wait to go back again next year!!

We’ve enjoyed every type of getaway, from rustic cottages to refined resorts, but it was hard to find it all in one place. So we decided to create an unforgettable, resort-like experience on Royal Island, in the heart of Canada’s cottage country.
