I've used Sonder before in other cities around the world and have had good experiences so it was a no-brainer for me to try this one out. The verification process can a first seem a little full-on but it's straightforward and the virtual aspects of this service as well as access to the building are logical. The room itself was bigger than I expected for London versus the price and, as with all Sonder's it's very well decorated and in good shape. Only feedback for improvement would be on water temperature. I managed an at best tepid shower, so the central heating could clearly do with an upgrade. Not withstanding this, overall I'd stay again, however.

Common area shabby & no-well kept pales into the shadow when compared to not honouring the booking with advance payment & reception staff 'not allowed to call out' on phone to Expedia when could not find reservation on system despite customer showing full booking details with itinerary number/payment confirmation. Futhermore, accusing repeat (international business frequent traveller & Expedia Platinum member) customer as security threat (having previously booked long stays at multiple Sonder's international accomodation -- also proving to have great gaps between advertised pictures & actual premises) is thoroughly far-fetched & utterly disrepectful. Un-heard of & DO NOT TOUCH!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Sonder Camden Road. The room was modern, extremely clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. The standard of accommodation is phenomenal for the price. Would love to stay again next time I am in London.

Highly recommended

The booking process was off-puttingly complicated but the hotel was fine- (unexpectedly) there were staff on duty and they were very helpful. The room was as spacious as any we've had at the budget end in London and, for users of the JustPark app, there was parking just across the road - and the stop for the No 29 bus to Oxford St /Trafalgar Square was very close.

An over complicated identification check was requested for all the people in my party only to discover that at the Camden location there are staff on the deck 24/7 so the mobile phone based face scans and ID uploads aren't necessary. Sonder should only send this out to guests who are staying at un-manned locations not all properties as this will save unnecessary complications for many guests. The carpets on the stairs need a good scrub but rooms were clean and tidy.

The overall structure is ok, but certain elements were below the rate: the staircase tapestry was old and dirty, the bathroom shower was not working correctly, the bathroom sink was minuscule, we could not even hang a pair of trousers properly.

The property was clean and comfortable. I have stayed many times before. Sadly on this occasion the cleaners started cleaning the 2 neighbouring rooms at 830 am. Crashing and banging around, also mobile phones ringing loudly and staff talking loudly to each other I asked them if this could be reduced. The reply was “we start work at 830 am these are rooms to clean so we cannot “ Really not acceptable when check out time is 10 am. It is not a great start to the morning

Completely unsuitable for me because of my mobility needs. I should have checked accessibility, but being only 1 night (thank goodness) I didn't. I was effectively trPped in the room until I left the next morning. I attempted to get assistance with my luggage but the remote chat wasn't working.

The key codes never seemed to work. We stayed at the same hotel two weeks prior and had the same issues. It would be nice, if they would serve breakfast. But the Sonder hotel concept seems to be to safe as many human resources as possible. A shame, really.

Very comfortable bed however it was a very hot day and the Air Conditioner kept making a very kind banging noise all night and the toilet was very close to the bath so was rather uncomfortable to sit on

I've stayed in Sonder before elsewhere in London so understand the concept. The property was easy to find from the street and had been renovated well. I received a wonderful greeting at 10pm in the evening from the lady on the front desk who made me feel welcome, and other members of staff I spoke with throughout my stay were equally friendly and very willing to help guests. The room in the main building was comfortable, with air conditioning, a safe and a chiller – safe and chiller are often omitted by other hotels at similar price points, so this is to be noted positively. I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Downsides. I had read the reviews before booking which seemed to give a mixed perception of the hotel. While initially I could see no reason for some of the negative reviews, the reasons did emerge as time went on – when going to sleep, I realised there is very little sound isolation from the corridors and adjacent rooms. I could hear every movement of people coming and going, so I do expect rooms on the staircase would be disturbed by luggage being moved around by other guests etc. There is a somewhat busy street nearby which seems to be used by fast, noisy cars in the night and this was also audible from the room. I was able to sleep well once things quietened down but these factors from other reviews are true. In the vicinity I also note that nearby tube stops are some distance walking, although there is a regular bus service (including night bus).
