Absolutely perfect house! We had a fabulous vacation in large part because we stayed at Clare Rose Cottage and had Gerry as our guide. We can’t thank Mary and Gerry enough and would stay at this gorgeous home again in a heartbeat. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Positive: Spacious home with lovely gardens. Well equipped. Near Cliffs of Moher, Doolin. Nice kitchen. Negative: One bedroom has a motor (water pump?) in the closet that comes on frequently, even throughout the night, making sleep impossible. Bathrooms get very wet due to showers without doors. The cottage is the owners home so there are many personal effects and extra furnishings.

Clare Rose Cottage is in the perfect location. Also, it is a spacious home with many well tended gardens. The kitchen is large, has all the mod cons as well as many extras. The house is well equipped for our visitors comfort. This includes a back up source of hot water called an immersion tank that is usually off but can be turned on by guests if desired. When off there is no sound. It is almost never turned on. Each bedroom is en suite. In addition to a bathroom with both a walk in shower and a full size bath tub there are two bathrooms, one for each of the other bedrooms that are a design of bathroom called a wet room. These are designed as spa like open-concept sanctuaries that are a highly accessible design that eliminate bulky shower doors. The house is decorated with prints and photographs by professional artists living in the area. There also books by various Irish authors about Irish history, fiction, maps and additional information about the Burren and local attractions.

Clare Rose Cottage was clean, comfortable and more than we expected! It is located in a beautiful quiet setting, enhanced by the owners attention to detail w fresh flowers, plants, local art on the walls. Plenty of fresh towels, linens and even nice showers!We had two couples in our group. This house was much more than we needed but we also each had our own section of the house for a little downtime and privacy while on our twenty day journey. It is a ten minute drive into Lisdoonvarna for groceries and restaurants. Minutes up the street is an incredible drive on the Atlantic coast w plenty of photo ops and history. Doolin is fifteen minutes so take a day trip on the ferry to Arian Islands and Cliffs of Moher. We highly recommend the Clare Rose Cottage!!!

Wish we could have stayed longer!

Exceptionally clean and well appointed property! Mary is a wonderful host and shared so much information before our stay we were able to include stops we hadn’t previously thought to include on our itinerary. Rose Cottage was a delight and we wished our visit was longer.

Wonderful vacation home

Beautiful area , perfect house for 4-5 (6) persons; kind welcome and support from Gerry on site. A car to visite the beautiful area around is recommended. Perfect kitchen and dining room.

This home was the highlight of our time in Ireland. The home is the type of place that you could live in. It is very clean and well maintained. The location is also great with easy access to the Cliffs of Moher and the surrounding area.Also if you need someone to show you around give Gerry a call. He was a lot of fun.

Outstanding experience

Wonderful property! Very spacious, clean, and close to everything we wanted. Wonderfully stocked kitchen, very comfortable all around. Mary is a wonderful host, quick to respond to any questions regarding the local area or the home itself. If visiting the Cliffs of Moher, highly recommend staying here.

Clare, Rose cottage

The house was phenomenal, the property manager was excellent, and very easy to communicate with. The location in Lisdoonvarna was close to many wonderful attractions too many to list. Would definitely stay at the house again If we were in that part of Ireland. Excellent value and highly recommended.

I could not recommend this property enough to anyone staying in the Doolin/Lisdoonvarna area. It was beyond beautiful, had everything we could possibly need, and was an easy drive to Doolin, Cliffs of Moher, and other area attractions. Two of the 3 bathrooms had showers that were easily accessible using a wheelchair. The house itself was easy to maneuver through using my manual wheelchair. Mary was wonderful to work with and she sent us an amazing list of recommendations in the area. If you are traveling to this area - stay here! It is the perfect Wild Atlantic Way home.

Great spot near the coast

The house is just as it’s presented and the glowing reviews are very accurate. The house is centrally located yet out & away. Very comfortable spot for our party, including all the necessities. Mary provided all kinds of info on sites, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Everyone in our party raved about the house. Oh, and Georry the property manager is a hoot! Book your stay - you will love it!

Amazing house with a view!

This property was better than we could even imagine! When we pulled into the driveway and could see the cliffs and ocean from the house we knew we picked the perfect place. The inside was clean and had everything we needed to feel at home, including a kitchen the gave us the ability to prepare meals like we would at home. Mary was a great host providing us with detailed information about the property, how to travel there, and things to do in the area. We hope to return here in the future!

What an amazing find! We stayed at this gorgeous place for 3 nights with grandparents, parents, and young kids. It was so perfect! The house itself is clean and beautiful, there is plenty of room, plenty of seating, the rooms were very comfortable, and the location was great. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of pans/place settings/silverware/kitchen utensils to cook and eat with. You definitely need a car for this spot- Doolin and Lisdoonvarna were about 10mins away each and Galway about 1.5 hours. Mary was very communicative and gave us all the tips for the house and area in an email ahead of time. The only downside, and this is being picky, was that the internet didn’t work very well in the sunroom or bedroom in the back. Would100% recommend and would definitely stay again!

An absolute gem!

We could not have been more pleased with Clare Rose Cottage. It was perfect for our group of 3 adults and 2 children (11&12yo). Pictures do not do it justice. From the front view overlooking the cliffs to the beautiful garden out back and cow pasture. The house is immaculate and updated. Unfortunately, we actually spent little time in the house. In the time we did, the house is extremely comfortable and felt like home with plenty of space and sitting areas for everyone. Mary was an absolute pleasure to deal with and could not have been more hospitable. Leading up to our trip she covered just about everything we could think about. Definitely hope to make it back to Clare Rose Cottage in the near future!

Wonderful house in the Doolin/Lisdoonvarna/Burren area!

Clare Rose house was perfect for our group of 6 adults. The house has a great layout for communal hanging out and the ability to tuck away for more privacy. The modern kitchen is roomy and open with a big gas stove with multiple ovens. There are 2 comfortable living rooms, one with gorgeous views to the cliffs, and a lovely sun room looking out over the garden. All 3 bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. The house has ceramic flooring throughout and our room and bath had in floor heating - no musty carpeting or curtains which can be an issue in Ireland. Communication with the house owner is easy. When we had a minor plumbing issue, it was resolved quickly. We will definitely return - can’t imagine staying anywhere else when visiting the west!

Gorgeous cottage in a gorgeous setting

We had the BEST stay at Clare Rose Cottage! After multiple 2-night stays all over Ireland we were so excited to settle in for this 4-night stay, to wrap up our trip. And it didn’t disappoint! This cottage has every amenity, not to mention lovely flower gardens in front / back yards. And off in the distance (the HUGE pic window in sunroom addition is amazing) there are views of the ocean / Cliffs of Moher. And I know I should NOT say this … we came to a foreign country to experience new things (!) … but the comforts of home that our other 4 vrbo’s didn’t have on this trip were a delight. Top sheets, wash cloths, a drip coffee maker, giant fridge & showers, smart TV’s, and (my fave) a SEPARATE washer & dryer … Clare Rose cottage had it all. (Kitchen and baths all recently renovated.) Cottage is close to Doolin & Lisdoonvarna both, for pubs, music, groceries etc … and we did easy day trips to Galway, the Cliffs of Moher, and the Burren. Also I can’t stress enough … check out Ballinalacken Castle too if you stay here. It wasn’t even noted in my guidebook, but it’s literally 5 min away. Next to the teeny 15-room 1930’s-built hotel is a very cool ruin / watch-tower from the 1600s that you can tour w/ the owners … not to mention the Michelin-starred meal we enjoyed in the tiny restaurant, post tour. Very cool, esp after we’d been turned off by the HORDES at Cliffs of Moher that morning 🙁 Mary was amazing to work with too - very responsive. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at Rose Cottage! The view of the cliffs from the living room is priceless. The house has wonderful amenities, tons of space, and nice touches, like having great lighting throughout the house, Dyson fans in the bedrooms, beautiful garden, proper taps and a washer and dryer.

There are some places you visit where you find yourself able to relax, enjoy yourself, and find yourself thinking "this is what its all about". Clare Rose Cottage one one such place for me and my family amongst a 17 day trip across Ireland. We spent five days and four nights in Co. Clare, and used Clare Rose Cottage as our hopping off point. It is closest to Lisdoonvarna, but also a stones throw away from the popular town of Doolin, and the Cliffs of Moher. The cottage had everything we needed and had an excellent view of the afore mentioned cliffs. ten out of ten, would visit again.

The cottage is in such a beautiful and quiet location with ocean views. Perfect location for exploring the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. Mary was a wonderful host and set us up in advance with abundant information about the area. The cottage is spacious and beautiful, thoughtfully decorated and full of wonderful books about the area. We so enjoyed coming back to the large kitchen and making tea after exploring.

Country living at its finest!

Mary was super helpful in making sure we knew all we needed to know prior to arrival. Walking into Clare Rose Cottage was a wow moment. Beautifully appointed, warm and cozy. We loved our stay and highly recommend this property.

Sunny and spacious

Sunny, well-renovated home convenient to Cliffs of Moher, Lisdoonvarna town, Doolin, and Fanore. The kitchen is exceptionally well designed and equipped for cooking everyday and gourmet meals, and the dining room is a lovely place to enjoy them. Mary is communicative, helpful, and knowledgeable. We were a couple but the house is well designed also for a family or several couples, with several en suite bathrooms and privacy as well as communal spaces. The lovely garden and landscaping add to the scenic view of the cliffs.
