Wild Goose Lodge was the PERFECT getaway spot! Communication, cleanliness, location, and amenities were all spot-on. I would highly recommend and look forward to visiting again next summer.

We had a wonderful time with our entire group. Lots of hiking and lakes that the dogs enjoyed. Some of our group went to Montreal for a fun day.Chefs kitchen was great. We would have liked Ac in all rooms. The only negative was the heat when we were cooking, but it was very hot the days we were there. It was a great space for our group.

Such a huge house. Had plenty of room for 10 people, a baby and dogs. There was plenty of firewood, dishes and basically anything you can think of. Hannah was great at responding and this by far is our favorite stay

The Wild Goose Lodge was an absolutely perfect place for my friends and I to have our little writing retreat! It is pretty remote and most of us were not able to get cell service, but the internet was working great the entire time and there is a landline we could have used if needed. Everything was clean and ready for us to use, from the kitchen to the bedrooms to the patio and backyard. Check-in was very easy, and there was a guestbook with some instructions and a check-out list, as well as helpful recommendations for things to do in the area.

The house was perfect for our family. Plenty of room and a huge kitchen which was awesome for cooking thanksgiving dinner. The fireplace in the living room is gorgeous.

Everyone had a wonderful time. From the adults right down to the teens and younger kids plan on booking again next year

Wild Goose Lodge was better than described. The kitchen was remodeled and everything was well stocked. Loved the commercial stove, huge freezer and fridge and extra fridge wall in pantry. Host had great recommendations for nearby kayak and fishing. Check out Union falls for beautiful views. Nice furniture and amenities all around.

Ski Weekend at the Wild Goose Lodge

This is a great location for large groups. We skied Whiteface over the weekend and relaxed every night by the fireplace. Breakfast for 14 every morning was no problem for the commercial stovetop, including a griddle.

Wonderful stay at a beautiful location. The Lodge had all amenities … even two sinks, dishwashers and laundry. We played badminton in the backyard, had fire in the pit to roast our marshmallows and a kitchen to big enough to both cook and commune in. Hannah was very responsive to our questions and needs! Eclipse 2024

Peace and quiet

This was a great place for family to gather and reminisce about our loved one who passed. Lots of room, plenty of beds, and bathrooms. The game room was an added bonus. Trails were awesome. Just know stores are about 20 miles away. But great place to stay.

Big House

The house was great for my family of 8 adults and 8 kids. Backyard was fun to run around in and have fires for s’mores. The house could use a good cleaning and some repairs but overall good. The host was quick to respond to any questions.

Labor Day Gathering

Wow we had a great time! This lodge suits us. Ladies loved the kitchen and stove. Kids loved the game room. Men loved 2 grills out on the porch. Nice firepit outback however the wood supply was limited. Access to traiks is very close. Peaceful location. Sauna room was enjoed. Bar was used to sit around and converse until the wee hours. 6 families gathered to bring back an old family tradition of cook out on labor day my grandfather started many moons agao. We are already planning it for next year and voted this will be our spot!

Review

This place was perfect for my large family. Plenty of room to spread out, large back yard with fire pit, which was going every night. Ample seating throughout house and outside. Screened in porch was great for the rainy day we had. Kitchen was amazing with the huge commercial stove/oven. Ample supplies left so there was no emergency to get to store. It was campy but in a good way. We love the Adirondacks. If anything could be made better about this place, it would be on water and a wee closer to town. But we didn't care!

Family vacation

We had a great time. The house was great for our group of 23, ranging in age from (2) to (86). We had bedrooms and beds for all. Lots of yard to play in. We had all sorts of sports and water fun activities planned and we were able to play them all. The game room downstairs was a huge hit, especially on the day we had some rain. There was more than enough space for crafts, games etc. The kitchen was awesome for a group our size. We loved the two dishwashers making it possible to use regular plates instead of paper. Our biggest challenge was fighting the biting bugs which was certainly no fault of the property. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful property!!

Great house for a large group

Our group (16 adults, 4 toddlers and 2 infants, 1 dog) loved the house. So much space for us to enjoy and not feel like we were on top of each other. The kitchen made it very easy to cook for everyone, which is necessary given the isolated location (not a negative!!!). We really enjoyed the steam room and fireplace. I've started in cleaner houses but it was clean enough especially given the size. Some of the table games in the game room were not in great condition but we weren't there to use them. Really really appreciate that the host sent someone to plow out the large parking area during our stay given the large snow storm that hovered over the area during our stay. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend for a large group who wants to enjoy each others company and do the many outdoor activities that Lake Placid has to offer.

Wild Goose Lodge is a large, wonderful home which was just right for our family vacation. The number and sizes of bedrooms, the open dining / living room provided plenty of space for meals as well as entertainment. While still availing opportunities for private moments. The kitchen is large allowing space for more than 1 person to make their lunches. It is also nicely equipped with 2 refrigerators, 2 double toasters, an air fryer, 2 sinks and 2 dishwashers, plenty of utensils and cookie sheets. The list go on and on.New furniture has been added while some is well appreciated, yet still functional. If you demand brand new, perfect accommodations go waste your money on other overpriced options. WGL is a very good bargain, priced right.One work of caution: if you need crowded, hectic, confusion, this is not the place for you.On the other hand, if you enjoy quiet, peacefully, solitude with those you love, than you need to be here.

A nice house once upon a time

The Wild Goose Lodge was probably a lovely place when the pictures posted online were taken. Its not like that now. The house has not been maintained except for some base cleaning. If i had known the condition of the house i would never had rented it. We took the time to do some cleaning to make it work but the pictures aren't representing the property we found. Shame on the owners and managers for not forwarning us or posting current pictures of what you get for your money. Not sure how to trust renting thru VRBO in the future Brian Pratt
