CLARA'S CABIN... a place to unwind, reflect, draw, write, or enjoy your people.

This is a lovely little two bedroom cabin in beautiful East Texas. There are views of the hardwood forest on three sides with a pasture to the south of Clara's Cabin. It is secluded from the rest of the property and is full of natural light afforded by the large windows. The doors are antique Spanish Colonial with hand forged hinges. As in Gus's Place, we have wonderful stained glass created by regionally acclaimed glass artist, Pat Williams. I think that you will love the very special artistic touches throughout this home.
A quiet spot for reflection is snuggled into a recess in the woods. The walkway from there will take you to the back porch and the propane fired grill is always ready for your own foodie creations.
Truly a place to get away and relax.

If you're looking for a retreat, this is your place. The whole family can unwind and play in the most picturesque woodsy setting. The house interior is a true work of art. Every detail pays tribute to Texas history and is just incredible. It's beautiful AND functional. Stocked with necessities and everything needed to cook meals. It's close enough to town, yet far enough you don't hear the city. We will be staying here every time we come to Nac!!

The house is very nice. It is very clean and so beautifully decorated. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a nice quiet place to stay. The only confusing thing is not sure exactly what time check out is. One place say 11 am and one says 10 am. We left before 10am because we wanted to be sure we left on time. But overall it is a very beautiful place to stay.

Awesome property with a lot of attention to detail that made our stay very fun and unique. The property manager/owner was also very helpful and we very appreciated it. We will stay again on our next trip to Nac.

Clara's Cabin was absolutely beautiful and relaxing. My family and I enjoyed our time here. Needed time to stop all the running around, take a deep breath and spend some much needed time with my little family.

The cabin was perfect for us. Out-of-town location, but not too far out. Privacy and a lovely porch with rockers to sit and enjoy coffee.

Clara's Cabin was the perfect place for my son's Birthday & my wish to getaway into the country that also allowed my ESA/PSA dog to come with us. It was also great to take in more of the scenery in the outskirts of Nacogdoches. We didn't meet our gracious hostess, but she did the "most-est" in communicating & accommodating us to be there on the actual celebratory weekend. As we pulled into the driveway...everything felt was just right & just as it is represented on VRBO. Although our stay was short it was accompanied by some very thoughtful sweetness awaitng in the fridge & freezer. A beautiful cake & ice cream, too. I hope our paths will actually cross, someday, Marcia. Thanks a million!

Fantastic cabin!

This cabin was so inviting, peaceful and welcoming! Quality throughout and the proximity to town was very convenient as well. We will definitely stay here again!

Our stay in Clara's cabin was beyond perfect! Marcia, (our host) created a cabin that is so much more than welcoming, comfortable & immaculately clean; it is beautifully & artfully decorated with Charming touches & custom finishes throughout. The garden & outside area had everything we could want to enjoy a fun & restful weekend (even though it was raining!); Built in grill & fire pit, a pergola, rocking chairs on the covered front porch. Our stay was a delight in every sense & we felt so cared for with all thoughtful touches. It felt like we were staying in the home of a creative & caring friend! Thank you so very much; We are already planning our next visit!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay and would give this property more than 5 stars if we could! The location was perfect, and the directions provided were spot on, making arrival completely stress-free.The home itself was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean—it truly felt welcoming from the moment we walked in. Every detail was thoughtfully put together, which made our stay even more enjoyable.The property owner was exceptional—extremely responsive, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure we had the perfect weekend. Clara’s cabin was a wonderful family getaway and the host was great

We came down to visit our daughter at SFA and wanted something different. We love the peacefulness of the location with all the modern amenities. It was beautifully decorated with a southwest theme. Clara’s cabin was a great place for our family to getaway and relax.

Beautiful cabin

This is one of the nicest Vrbos. Very clean and decorated beautifully. The host is super helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this cabin!

Beautiful location outside of the city, incredibly peaceful and quiet. Cabin is beautifully decorated. Bed was very comfortable w Temperpedic mattress. I stayed there the weekend my daughter was getting married in Nac so it had even more meaning for the need for peace, quiet, serenity. Absolutely recommend if you’re looking for a getaway from the city.

Great little cabin

Perfect for a quiet getaway. Beautiful southwest interior. All the comforts of home and close to town if the need arises. Had a great relaxing time.

Beautiful, eclectic, unique cabin experience

The cabin was beautiful and uniquely decorated. We enjoyed all of the windows that let in the natural light and the fireplace made it very cozy and relaxing in the evenings. Our stay was very peaceful and relaxing.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

We escaped from busy, busy Dallas to Nacogdoches in 1984. Wanted to raise our 3 kids here in this wonderful little town and were glad that we did. We thought about moving to Austin when they went off to college but found this wonderful property and happily stayed.
We have turned the original 1865 homeplace, Gus's Place, into a wonderful little vacation rental. We also added a large barn with an apartment, a pool kitchen and we have great areas to allow for large parties or reunions.
"Gus" was so busy that we decided to bring "Clara's Cabin" into the picture. While not as historic as ole "Gus", it is just as charming and decorated with wonderful art and artifacts from that period. Clara's Cabin is set in an area that is easily accessible to our guests who stay there yet very private.

IF you love fishing and want to come home with a boat full of fish...let us know and we will line you up with an outstanding professional fisherman/ER nurse, Super nice fellow. Knows where ALL the fish live and is just the finest person you could meet. In the winter months, I do Raku firings from time to time and kiln openings when the kiln has been fired and is ready to unload. There are some other amenities that we can offer....Just ask....Kids LOVE It out here!
