We really loved the cabin and the property, it was a perfect cozy getaway for the two of us. Would’ve been a 5 star review if we had had a little more privacy. Richard, who was a very nice host was around more than we would have preferred and chose to do some work around the property while we were trying to enjoy lunch by the river. Otherwise, a great place to have a quiet weekend.

Sorry about the work near the solar array. Since it tracks the sun, there are only about 2-3 hours per day when someone can get to the array to safely remove the rank vegetation before wet snow loads the nearby tree branches and causes interference with the equipment. We got snow 5 days after your visit. I limit myself to 2 hours per day in that area.

House was very nice and quaint. We were there for the start of Vermont fall season and had a nice view of the mountains. Pond and stream were great for fishing. enjoyed sitting by the stream and enjoy nature. House was nice, clean and offered a 2 burner plug in "stove" if you didn't want to use the wood stove which was nice. Had a great time and would definitely go back.

Beautiful location!

We enjoyed our stay! There was lots of good hiking all around and even on the property. We enjoyed sitting by the river. The host was very helpful with an issue we had.

Absolutely what we were looking for. A rustic experience in the beautiful state of Vermont. It was centrally located, allowing us to travel various directions to experience all Vermont has to offer.Host was extremely accommodating.

Delightfully rustic

We really enjoyed staying here! It was a simpler, slower pace of life…much appreciated! Richard was extremely attentive as a host.

Great stay

It was a cute little cabin tucked . We stayed while it was 90+ degrees for a few days in a row and Richard made sure to keep us in the loop to keep the cabin cool. And it surprisingly stayed at a good temperature. The kids had a good time exploring the property.

Bring Your Scouting Skills

This is a great little cabin and we enjoyed our stay. Richard was a great host. Just be prepared to build your own fire to keep warm as there is no central heat.

I do fire starting house calls. There's plenty of dry wood in the woodshed and between the cookstove and parlor stove the cabin can be warmed to 80-deg above ambient. True, going "green" sometimes requires extra steps but you are then energy independent.

Unique Location

Although the stream was devastated by the Vermont floods, it was still enjoyable to relax and watch pass by. Several opportunities to explore the area for fishing and hiking. Host was very accommodating and attentive. The wood burning stove made some of best vacation breakfasts ever. Great vacation!

Perfectly Secluded Romantic Getaway

This was everything we wanted and more in a honeymoon. The cabin was cozy, clean, and romantic. We wanted somewhere secluded with limited cell service (the WiFi was excellent but we switched our phones off). We were able to enjoy ourselves and our time with limited distractions. We can’t wait to return!

The property was clean and comfortable and the grounds are nice. Our host, Richard, couldn’t have been more kind . We were just expecting a cabin that was deeper in the woods and further away from the road.

Feel like miles away but actually right near the road-easy access across brook. Fun wood heating. Excellent owner occupied (adjacent) property. Plenty of privacy.

Disconnect and reconnect

This is the perfect place to get to get away from the electronics and reconnect as a family! We spent the week hiking, visiting local museums, playing board games, and enjoying camp fires. Richard was a great host and offered great recommendations on hikes and a local swimming spot. The kids enjoyed the tetherball and golf on the grounds. We had a great stay!

Peaceful

Richard was at the cottage to greet us. His property is very beautiful and serene. He is very knowledgeable about Vermont life We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage and the campfires we had at night. I couldn’t have found a better place to stay to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.

The sound of the river instantly relaxes the mind. The smell of the pines harmonizes the senses. The peaceful quiet of nature calms the body and spirit. Spending time with Richard feels like family.

Relaxing Week

Another great stay at this beautiful property. We had a lot of fun exploring the surrounding areas and the property itself. We always find something new every time. There’s never time to get bored here. Lots of fun family time: campfires, lovely dinners and game nights. I already have a running list of places to visit, trails to hike and things to do right at the house for our next trip!

I keep looking forward to your visits. There's always a surprise around each corner and behind each big tree. Yesterday a big porcupine startled a doe and her fawn ---- I think they were both harvesting blackberries.

Lots of Natural Entertainment included

This has a relaxing creek with chairs and a walking path. The owner has marked trails through this property. He’s always available for questions and suggestions. He’s the nicest host we have ever met.

Outstanding

Richard was an amazing host. We stayed during the floods that were happening in July and he was right on top of everything. Our safety was his number 1 priority and went above and beyond to show us that. We will absolutely be coming back for a 3rd time.

My husband and I had an amazing stay! It felt like taking a step back in time to when things were simpler. We enjoyed walking the trails around the property and spending time by the river. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. It's not everyday you get to use an old wood fire oven, but we had blast. Richard was an excellent host! He was truly a fountain of knowledge and knew all the best places to drive around. He even gave us advice on the rest of our travels, it was pleasure talking with him. Next time we are in the area, we know exactly where we are staying.

Family vacation

We felt welcomed from the minute we arrived. Richard is an incredible host and his love of the property comes across. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable for our week long stay. Even though the recent rain had washed out part of the driveway, Richard made sure to help us carry our things up the short walk to the house and he was hard at work fixing the washout. There is plenty to do in the area but even if it’s a little grey and rainy like it was for us, the wood stove keeps the camp nice and cozy and was perfect for staying inside reading and playing board games. We could easily see ourselves going again in the future!
