Location, safety, comfort

We were picked up from the airport by the owner. His wife was waiting at the apartment with fresh linens, stocked kitchen, coffee, toast, jam and many resource guides with suggestions of where to go and the best way to get there. Everything worked beautifully. Plenty of hot water, fresh air, and the temperature always perfect. We felt very safe at all times and enjoyed the ease of walking most places. The train station is very close so there was no need to ever rent a car. We had a marvelous time! You couldn't ask for a better vacation spot or hosts!

Guests were solar as the land where they came from (Florida). A couple really special, beautiful, funny and smiling as well as their delicious little daughter. The apartment has been left clean and no damage. Perfect hosts, hope to host them again.

Excellent!

This is a clean, comfortable, large and spacious apartment, in a location that allows most of Palermo to be seen on foot. The personable owners, Marcella and Michelangelo, are helpful, kind, engaged, and charming. They've considered every detail for a comfortable stay. Soaps, an iron, a complete kitchen easy to work in, and the BEST bed I slept in in Italy, all await you. There is coffee, some toasts, brioches, selection of teas.....its thoughtful and useful to guests. Top Marks! I would happily return to this apt. Across the road and to the right is a tiny food shop, with excellent arancini, pennelle, and other snacks. Great quality and prices......

A decent apartment in a good location

My wife and I stayed in this apartment for three nights. The apartment is of adequate size for two adults and two children. It was clean and well equipped. The WiFi worked very well. The furniture is fairly simple and somewhat dated. The windows were fairly small and faced a wall with air conditioning units. It was hard to get a glimpse of the sky. Its central location also meant a lot of noise pretty late in the evening and early in the morning (around 0500) noisy deliveries and unloading to Lidl across the alley woke us up earlier than we had wished. The owners Michelangelo and his wife, Marcella, were very helpful and provided a lot of useful tips re. tours, restaurants, etc. However, there are a few points in the description on the VRBO website that are incorrect, e.g. that the kitchen table is suited for 8 people, that the bathroom is roomy with a large window, etc. I recommend a revision of the text. The remsrks above mesn that my rating is not more than a 4.

The table in the apartment is for 4 people if it is closed, but with a simple movement it is extendable and becomes for 8. Anyone who has visited the historic centers of many European cities such as Seville, Marseille, Sicily, Palermo, Trapani, Catania knows that the streets are very narrow, the tall buildings, and therefore do not it is easy to see the sky, especially from the lower floors. Who wants to see the sky at all costs could rent an anonymous apartment in the suburbs, but then it does not become comfortable to visit the monuments that are almost always in the historic centers. Furthermore, having the convenience of a supermarket a few meters away can sometimes cause a little noise due to unloading. In this review among the positive things it was not listed that we have a free private parking, rare in the center of Palermo.Then if the rating must be not more that 4, why you give 3?

Roomy apartment in convenient location

Overall a nice stay in a spacious apartment with pleasant helpful hosts. Beds were reasonably comfortable, plenty of hot water, kitchen with many extras as well as the basics. Has a dishwasher as well as a toaster, juicer, stovetop coffeemaker. Dishes, flatware and utensils were good as well. Seemed to have sufficient pots and pans if needed. Location is about half block from a Lidl grocery store, also close to a Carrefour a few blocks farther. Less than ten minutes walk to train and bus station. Good location to see all major historic sights. Lots of restaurants and shops, and close to two markets with amazing fresh fruits, vegetables, and fish. Beds and furnishings adequate, though towels were very scratchy. Parking is available though not necessary. Michelangelo will also pick you up at the airport with advance notice for an extra fee. Two downsides: 1. minimal natural light which is not a problem if you are out most of the time except to sleep. 2. Motorcycles and scooters audible until nearly midnight every night and truck noises from unloading stock for the Lidl store at about 5am every morning. Moldable silicone earplugs saved the day and we still slept well. There are probably nicer neighborhoods but we never felt unsafe, and the price/value here is excellent. Definitely worth your consideration.

It seems difficult to me that you heard these noises every night and morning, as no one has ever complained about this. It is as if I said that you always leave so much dirt in the house (I could not say "always"). However it doesn't matter, thanks anyway.

Eccellente sistemazione!

....abbiamo trovato tutto come era stato descritto: vicino ai monumento da visitare , al lidl e al mercato di Ballaró , cosa che ci ha permesso di goderci i tesori d'arte e al contempo di cucinarci gustosi manicaretti e riposarci al fresco , sotto gli affascinanti soffitti a volte unghiate... Il signor Marcello é stato sempre pronto a risponderci e disponibile a rassicurarci e darci informazioni durante tutto il periodo ...dalla prenotazione avvenuta 10 mesi fa fino al nostro soggiorno, che a causa della situazione dovuta al coronavirus sembrava incerto per vari mesi. Pronto a suggerirci dove andare a mangiare....raccomandiamo questo luogo, se torneremo a Palermo, torneremo in questo appartamento ! Grazie!

Conforme à la description

Bel appartement, bien situé en plein centre ville Les propriétaires ont toujours été disponibles et à l'écoute Le Parking privatif est indispensable surtout avec une voiture de location Néanmoins l'utilisation de la voiture n'est pas à privilégier :(Circulation très difficile et chaotique, pass journalier de 5€ à acheter à chaque utilisation du véhicule dans le centre ville) Je conseille donc les transports en commun qui bénéficient d'une très bonne couverture et d'une tarification bon marché

A week in Palermo

The property was exactly as listed. Michelangelo our host was welcoming and informative. He gave us many ideas about places to visit and nearby restaurants. We enjoyed our stay.

Très bel appartement

Appartement très propre et confortable proche de toutes les commodités (supermarché, marché du ballaro, visites etc ...) Le parking dans la cour intérieure du palais est très pratique pour ceux qui comme nous avions notre propre véhicule, Merci encore aux propriétaires pour leur accueil et leur sympathie, Appartement que nous recommandons fortement Cristoforo

Large flat in a lovely building with private parking. We were met on arrival and provided with all the information we needed to explore Palermo. We were only there one night but would have happily stayed much longer.

La location est très confortable. Un accueil chaleureux et d'excellents conseils de la part de nos hôtes pour les visites et les adresses gastronomiques. Mais 2 jours c'est beaucoup trop court pour découvrir tous les charmes de Palerme.

Great Introduction

Property has everything you need. Our hosts were excellent, we were greeted with a warm welcome and smile even though we arrived after 11pm due to flight and rental car pick-up delays. Communication was excellent before and during our stay. Good information in the apartment which is close to the train station and within walking distance to all the sights. Palermo is lovely and a visit to Monreale Cathedral is a must if time permits. A great intro to Sicily. Thank you Michelangelo, Ida and Paul

A great place to stay especially if your driving

Michelangelo and his wife were very nice and helpful. Our car was in a secured court yard. We enjoyed our visit and would return.

Central to everything with private car parking.

A big thank you to Michelangelo for a late check in, due to a delayed flight into Palermo. The apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay, with all amenities nearby and within walking distance. The entrance is only half way up the stairs shown in the photograph, so no need to worry about lugging hefty luggage all the way up to the top. While we drove a hire car into town, we did not need it to visit anything in the city or even for Monreale, since the bus service is so good. Check with Michelangelo regarding entry into the city's congestion area, before you arrive. He can make arrangements for you. The only downside for us was the washing machine needed maintenance, but Michelangelo made arrangements for its repair. For those who don't speak Italian, Michelangelo speaks very good English.

Palermo Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our accommodations here. It was near many great eating and shopping establishments. Very close walking distance from the bus/rail station. Michaelagelo and his wife were gracious hosts with many fine suggestions. Apartment was clean and secure. Bed was very comfortable and comforter was ideal. Felt safe at all times in and around it. One suggestion would be to contact him via WhatsApp if you don’t know Italian for detailed directions as street signs are difficult to decipher. Would stay here again. Well worth the price.

Bellissimo soggiorno nella splendida e interessantissima Palermo , grande città di cultura

Appartamento molto gradevole e in ottima posizione strategica in città . Ottima la disponibilità del parcheggio privato gratuito . Ottima l'accoglienza del proprietario che ci ha dato molte utili indicazioni . Estremamente interessante la città con tutti i suoi siti culturali . Estremamente cordiale la popolazione . Città in continuo sviluppo , lo possiamo dire dato che siamo in visita per l'ennesima volta nella splendida Palermo e nella Sicilia .

Great location with parking!!

Within walking distance of most everything in the old city. Michela and his wife were most helpful with maps and places to go. The vrbo is very spacious and comfortable. There are mAny welcoming touches. I highly recommend this for your stay in Palermo!

superbe appartement au coeur du centre historique de Palerme

un accueil au top par les propriétaires qui viennet personnellement ils sont d'une gentillesse extreme . Ils prennent le temps de vous presenter les centres d'interet de la ville en marquant les points essentielles sur le plan qu il vous donne location ou il y a tout endroit ideal pour visiter palerme a pied, en bus le LIDL a coté de la location est un plus pour plus d'automonie

séjour idéal à Palerme

Un accueil très chaleureux par Michelangelo et Marcella. Une localisation parfaite pour visiter la ville à pied et accéder aux commerces. Nous avons bien apprécié la climatisation dans les deux pièces principales et le caractère de l'appartement. Merci à tous les deux pour ce merveilleux séjour.

Tolles Haus mitten im ältesten Stadtteil Palermos

Diese Ferienwohnung ist sehr geräumig, sehr sauber und perfekt ausgestattet! Es gibt alles dort was man braucht: Waschmaschine, Bügelbrett, Bügeleisen, Geschirrspüler, Sonnenschirme, Regenschirme....und und und:-) Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich, haben sich sehr viel Zeit und Mühe genommen und uns viele Tipps und Infos gegeben.

Très bien !

L'appartement est idéalement situé pour visiter le centre historique de Palerme à pied (avec arrêt de la navette électrique gratuite tout près). Il est très propre, bien équipé et Michelangelo et son épouse sont très sympathiques et serviables. La possibilité de garer la voiture dans la cour est indéniablement un plus lorsque, comme nous, l'on continue son chemin vers d'autres sites siciliens. Nous recommandons donc et y retournerons sans hésiter. Denise
