There’s not much to say about Glain Orme that the views won’t tell you yourself. Glain Orme Villa is a period Victorian-era home, with 8 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, across 3 floors, which is enough space to sleep up to 12 people. This jewel of a property, it overlooks the wonderful seaside town of Llandudno from the low slopes of the Great Orme, taking in the Pier, ocean and the mountains of Snowdonia in the distance.
A short downhill walk into the town, the villa - with it’s spectacular Victorian architecture and views for days - is well-placed to take in everything that this magical and popular town has to offer. The Victorian Pier, promenade, tramway, cable cars back up to the top of the Great Orme, and a wonderful place to find shops, cafes and amusements, aside from the wonderful, rugged and unique mountain ranges of wider North Wales are on your doorstep when you step out of this wonderful family holiday home.
The property itself showcases the opulence of the Victorian-era in which it was build, and displays many original features, both inside and out. Built in 1885, at the height of the town's popularity as a resort, the villa has remained in the ownership of the same family right up to the present day. There are 8 wonderful bedrooms. On the first floor, there are 2 double rooms, and one family room with a double and single and then one single room. All of these rooms have great views, and there are 2 bathrooms - the first a family bathroom with bath and WC, the second with a shower and WC - and lastly, there is a separate WC. On the second floor, 3 individual single rooms (one single bed is 2'6" wide, suitable only for a child) and one double bedroom make up the rest of the sleeping spaces of this magical villa. There’s also a travel cot for an infant. In total, there are 5 bathrooms across the house, as well as 4 separate toilets.
As you enter the home, the hallway greets you with the staircase to the upper floors, and to each side, leads you further into the living quarters of the house. There is a large drawing/living room and another separate sitting room, either side of the main hallway, and further into the large downstairs area, a dining area, kitchen, utility and separate laundry area. The frontage of the house also offers a terrace with views that take in a panoramic vista of Llandudno and North Wales beyond.
Practical facilities at Glain Orme include a washing machine, two dishwashers, two refrigerators, freezer, and microwave. Bed linen and towels are supplied, and WiFi is provided throughout the house.
This cottage has a £500 refundable accidental damage bond which does not form part of the total rental value. This bond will be taken separately after confirmation of the booking, and is returnable upon safe return and inspection of the property after checkout.
Llandudno is a coastal town in north Wales. It’s known for North Shore Beach and 19th-century Llandudno Pier, with shops and a games arcade. Northwest of town, the cliffs of Great Orme headland jut into the sea. Ancient tunnels lead to a cavern at Great Orme Mines. A 1902 tramway has an upper and lower section, and travels to the headland’s summit. To the east, smaller headland Little Orme is a nature reserve.
