Luxurious and Relaxing Stay Off the Beaten Path

The Croft was amazing and perfect for us. Nice home, modern kitchen, soaker tub was luxury, and host was very helpful and responsive. Location is a bit further off the beaten path but still good. We knew this when reserving and it was fine (even a benefit depending on what you are there for) but if you wish to be closer to Portree this is around 30 minutes to there.

My husband and I cannot say enough good things about our stay at Thistles on Skye!

David was the most responsible and responsive host we could ask for. He gave us helpful hiking and restaurant suggestions, and the care he has taken on his rentals shows in all the small details, from a dram of local whiskey, milk, bread, and yogurt waiting for us on arrival, to the greatest shower fixture I’ve ever used, large fluffy towels, and beautiful tartan details throughout.

Great hospitality, lovely room (and bathroom) and amazing views.

Our first visit to Skye and we will return if we can stay at Thistles again. David and Frances are warm and helpful hosts, and the breakfasts are fabulous.

Our stay at Thistle On Skye’s Croft was one of the highlights of our trip!

The Croft was the perfect blend of old world charm and modern comfort, with breathtaking views from every room and thoughtful touches, throughout, especially the luxurious soaking tub and the cozy dressing room. Our host, David was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making our trip even more memorable.

We had an excellent 2 day stay with David and Francis at Thistles on Skye. The rooms were perfect with stunning views. David and Francis were very hospitable and the breakfast was delicious. We can’t wait to come back and explore more of the island and the rest of Scotland!

Lovely stay on Skye

We stayed for 4 nights in total on our first visit to Skye. Beautiful location with views to match. So relaxing. Accommodation outstanding, lovely scottish detailing in the rooms, great breakfast and not to mention their darling cocker spaniel Islay! Thoroughly recommended.

Rest and Relation in a stunning, luxurious house.

The Croft is like a home from home. Furnished with beautiful touches of style and thought, everything you could possibly need is provided, even a jug of the owners milk when I was in need of a cuppa! Views amazing, bed, bedding and towels luxurious and all mod cons for kitchen and bathrooms provided. Wonderful place to stay, thank you 💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Amazing cottage with incredible views ...

We had the pleasure of staying in the Croft and experience was excellent.. the cottage had everything we wanted and more. The location was perfect with views over the Sound of Sleat with ever changing skyline, Sleat is a bit of a hidden gem with some great scenery and walks but also on the doorstep for exploring the rest of Skye.

Amazing! Great views but better hosts!

We stayed for 5 nights at Thistles. The hosts were tremendous. Very helpful and warm. We really enjoyed everything about our stay. The bedroom is very comfortable and the baths are great. We toured the Sleat peninsula with helpful hints from the hosts. They also booked our dinner and car for Kinloch Lodge and were amazingly helpful every step of the way.

Perfect home from home escape

We stayed in The Croft, which was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. The garden was huge, with far reaching views over the water and surrounding hills which made for fantastic sunrise/sunset views. We found The Croft perfect for exploring Skye, and the hosts went out of their way to make us very welcome, and assist us with various aspects of our stay. Highly recommend!

Fantastic stay

From the moment we arrived we felt at home. David and Frances were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. They provided clear travel and sightseeing information prior to our arrival which was extremely useful. The quality of the accommodation was exceedingly high and made the room very comfortable to stay in. The view from the accommodation was stunning.

Perfect getaway for new year

Everything about this stay was amazing. Perfect in every way. Spotless inside. Beautiful location. So cozy and beautifully fitted out inside. Great garden space for our cocker spaniel to run around in. So much help and lots of local suggestions from our host David. Can’t recommend enough!!

Amazing minimoon

We stayed at Thistles for three nights on our 'minimoon' and had an amazing time. David and Frances are great hosts and had thought of everything we might need. The finishings in the room are luxurious and the breakfasts were amazing (as were the homemade chocolate brownies!). We ate out at three different local restaurants and enjoyed them all. Would highly recommend for a visit to Skye.
