THE POOL AND HOT TUB WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE SUMMER 2025 AND WINTER 2025-2026 SEASON FOR RENOVATION.

Breakaway West is Vail's best value! Located 1.5 miles to Vail Village and ski lifts via Vail's free bus system that runs every 20-30 minutes (or a 10-minute walk to Lionshead in street shoes). free WIFI; free uncovered parking.

Maximum Occupancy on this unit is 4 Guest.

This 2-bedroom suite features 1000 square feet of living space; one queen and two twin beds (Only Sleeps Max 4 Guests); full kitchen; in-unit washer/dryer. Ski all day and return to the condo and soak in the two outdoor hot tubs or sun on pool deck. For stays of 3,4,5 nights a checkout cleaning fee $200 will be added to the cost of any reservation. If you stay 6 nights or more, the checkout clean is waived. This residence does not have air conditioning.

Property Manager will send a separate invoice for Room and Tax to be filled out and sent to them.

Good place, ok location, nice that’s it’s close to the bus stop but didn’t realize you need two buses to get to the base of Lionshead.. it says it sleeps six, which is inaccurate.. Two twins and a queen does not mean it sleeps six..

Good No Frills Condo

Right on the bus route, never waiting more than 15m to get a bus and only a 10m ride to the Gondola. Elevator handy for unloading luggage and after a long day on the slopes. Hot Tub right downstairs.

Comfy condo north of I-79

My parents, boyfriend, and I enjoyed our stay at the condo during ski season. The couches and dining set are dated but in great condition, very clean, and very comfortable. The manager set up the second bedroom as one king bed instead of two separate twin beds, which was great. The thermostats were disconnected, so the condo was very warm inside, but that's better than it being too cold. There are two outdoor hot tubs and a heated pool, all in great condition. Please note that the location of the condo is incorrect in VRBO (but hopefully will be corrected?) - it is located in the Breakaway West complex NORTH of I-70, whereas the maps in VRBO and the listed walking times indicated that it was south of I-70. If you search for Breakaway West on google maps, you'll see the true location. There's a pedestrian bridge across I-70 by Lionshead, and there are some free busses around.

disappointing but I like Vail realty

antiquated poorly equipped condo on the 4th floor with no functioning elevator, Wi-Fi didn't work, beds were terrible and cooking will be difficult as the kitchen is poorly equipped. Couldn't even cook many items as there was no pizza or flat pan of any kind. That being said, Vail Realty was very nice and has ski storage in the village which is great. I would book with them again but wouldn't stay at Breakaway West (at least not in this unit or on a high floor)

False advertising

The condo description on VRBO is NOT correct. It’s listed as a 3-minute walk from the Cascade Village Lift on the South side of I70. It’s actually more like a 20 minute walk (in ski boots) to the Cascade Village Lift and North of I70. In our case, the condo’s location was the PRIMARY reason we selected it so we were not happy when this error was discovered the night before we were to arrive.I alerted Lee at Vail Realty of the error and proposed an equitably way to resolve the issue. He was totally unhelpful. He accepted NO responsibility for the listing error, claimed it was a problem with VRBO and indicated we needed to contact VRBO directly. His only ridiculous offer was that on the night before we were to arrive, we could cancel the reservation and get a refund. We will not rent from Vail Realty in the future.The condo itself was a bit cramped, dated and in need of some upgrades but in general worked out OK. A few of the other problems found were: the wall thermostat had no effect on the baseboard heaters – we ended up turning it off completely and opening some windows; two humidifiers provided were broken; there was no light on the deck - burnt out bulb; the shower door was off its track and the sink drain plug needed adjustment in master bathroom; expected bathroom supplies were missing (hair dryer, complimentary Kleenex and shampoo, etc.); and the elevator sounded like it was going to crash when it reached the 1st floor!

Good Location, Bad Experience

The pictures and description are accurate. The best thing is its proximity to the bus stop – it’s just a minute from the door. However, be prepared to walk up and down many stairs. There is an elevator, but you will need to walk up multiple flights just to get to it. The bathrooms were recently redone, but one shower door wouldn't close due to improper installation. The temperature in the unit is uncontrollably hot – turned off the heat and opened the window to tolerate it. The property is run by Vail Realty, CO – check out their Yelp reviews. VRBO is just their advertising platform. They are not hosts - they just collect the money. For 2 days we had no water. While Vail Realty doesn’t control the water utility, they had a duty to inform us of the outage so we could prepare. They didn’t inform us and accepted no responsibility for that communication breakdown. We weren’t looking for a discount or freebie, but they could have simply delivered a case of bottled water so we could at least wash our hands! Their response was telling us we could stay without water, or we could vacate and they would change the access code. I own 14 rental units myself, I know there are things beyond management’s control. Communication and service are not beyond their control, so their response was unacceptable. It’s Vail Realty’s responsibility to know about maintenance so the guest is properly informed.

Amazing stay just outside of Lionshead in Vail

My friends and I had a great stay at this property. Plenty of room, very clean, and a super easy check in process. We arrived late and Lee coordinated everything for us to get in and was flexible with our in-person check in. The property has a heated pool and two convenient hot tubs. Would definitely stay here again! The bus picks you up just outside the building and is 4 stops to vail village. Plan your ride home as the condo is one of the last stops leaving Vail village going home.
