Walk to the Beach with your pup from 221 Olive Way!

Real Escapes Properties is pleased to offer this delightful vacation destination - located a quick few minutes walk to the public beach access equipped with a boardwalk on Olive Way.

This adorable garage apartment has two bedrooms and two and 1/2 baths. Walk up the stairs above the garage and enter the second level screened-in porch; perfect spot to disengage, relax and enjoy the sounds of the waves crashing against the Atlantic Shoreline! Step inside to the open floor plan consisting of a living room, dining room, and kitchen. The den is equipped with a large television, complete with cable, Wi-Fi and a DVD player. Dining room table is set for four.

Meander up the stairs and you will find two large bedrooms that are very tastefully done. Bedroom #1 has a Queen-sized bed with a television and en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Bedroom #2 has a set of twin beds and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. 221 Olive is a perfect choice for you and your fur babies to walk to the beach!

CHECK IN: 4:00 pm CHECK OUT: 10:00 am

Occupancy: 6- Any group gatherings and events at this property are limited to the number of occupants (6 persons).

Pets: Dogs less than 15 lbs. allowed with a $50 non-refundable fee per pet. (No cats).

Parking: Parking for 1 large vehicle or 2 small vehicles end to end in front of far right garage door (garage not accessible)

Location: 5 minute walk to the beach, approximately 2 miles to Pier Village

Minimum age to rent is 25. This applies to all guests with the exception of multi-generational families.

What to Expect in your Unit:
There are 2 TVs in this property.
Linens (Bath towels & bed sheets) are provided along with a Starter Supply of Toilet Paper, Soap, Paper Towels and Trash Bags. Any additional supplies needed during tenancy will be the responsibility of the guest.

Lovely place in the perfect neighborhood

This is a well-appointed above-garage condo in a perfect location for exploring and enjoying St. Simons Island. The managers are helpful and communicative. The bedrooms are nice, and quiet, and all of the important things were done right. A few lightbulbs were burned out, and some of the bedroom lamps have cords that are too short to reach the outlets. Nice place, would be happy to return!

Quick trip to the coast

We had a great time the place is perfect! Will be going back soon hopefully our golden retriever loved the beach and the screened in porch! Wish I could live there full time!

Holly Jolly Weekend

I wish we had more time. My mother has been in the hospital since 11/14 with a broken femur. My adult sons and I had planned this trip as a surprise for her. However, we needed this time for respite and to work on plans for next steps in her care. 221 Olive is one of my favorite rentals as it is very comfortable and well appointed. I like this quiet street and the location on East Beach. The unit does have several light bulbs that need to be replaced. One in a lamp in the master bedroom, one in the stairwell, and a couple in one overhead light fixture.

Perfect location - quiet and close to beach, shopping and restaurants

The garage apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. The screened in porch was a perfect place for a cup of coffee or glass of wine. There is a very short walk to the beach. Less than a mile to groceries and great restaurants. Perfect location for us and our dog. Highly recommend.

Clean, Comfortable, Convenient

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First impressions are important, and when we arrived the place was incredibly clean. Some reviews mention that it needs updates, but for us, as long as everything is in good working order that is all we need. I felt like the price of the rental was fair, thinking that updates would jack the rental price up a bit. The place is laid out similarly to a condo, but with the benefit of no neighbors. The location is really convenient, considering the walk to the beach is only about a block and the walk (or bicycle ride) to restaurants and shops is pleasant, too. The only downside I noticed was that parking is very limited, but other than that our experience with this rental was exactly what we were looking for.

Great getaway!

Even though we had pretty rainy weather during our stay, this rental did not disappoint. I have been going to SSI for many years, but this is absolutely the best location I've stayed in. Clean, close to everything...five stars!

NOT less than a block to the beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall this is a comfortable beach house for a party of 4 or less. It's small, but met our needs for a 4 day stay. The kitchen is fairy well stocked, it had what we needed and the appliances are older but worked fine (we used everything but the coffee maker). The DVD player does not work - it makes all DVDs skip - we told the agency so hopefully that will get replaced. The streaming service was nice other way to get movies. The walls inside the whole house desperately need to be cleaned and painted. The bed was comfy enough. No cleaning supplies were provided except two tablets for the dishwasher, so we had to go out to buy our own soap, sponges, counter spray, paper towels, etc. That's fine, I just am used to other rental companies providing that stuff or leaving it in the house for all the renters to use. There was plenty of toilet paper provided. NOW - about that beach access. It's HORRID. You walk a half a block to the entrance. But then you walk 3 "blocks" through a marsh/swamp where there is ankle high standing water and killer mosquitoes. Then you are on the beach. Our second day we chose to drive up to the super crowded East Beach entrance to avoid that nightmare.Would I stay here again? Not if my mission were to come to the beach - because of that (lack of) access. If I just needed a place on the island, yes.

Our five week stay on 221 Olive Way

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the location and the layout of our rental. The porch with the French doors was especially nice. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the cleanliness, especially the bathrooms. The living area furniture has stains that should be cleaned. The master bedding is worn out and doesn’t stay on the bed. With a few upgrades and a deep clean this would be a very excellent rental.

It’s Just Right For Us!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second stay at Olive Way! The street is quiet and it’s easily accessible to the beach. There’s plenty of room for the two of us and the screened porch is nice especially when you want to open doors for fresh air! The house was clean and the bed was soft and comfortable. The decor is nice but the furniture in the living area could use some love. The casters on the very nice leather chair and ottoman are loose and come off occasionally and the couch needs to be replaced. Despite the furniture issues we love the place and will be back next year!!

Perfect Location on East Beach

We love SSI and decided to spend a month here to escape winter. We have 2 Labradors and this house allowed for our dogs to stay too. The house is a 2-minute walk to the best beach, off-leash for dogs, huge area for lots of running and playing. Everyone is so friendly, dog-lovers too. The house itself offers a very confortable stay. We cooked most nights, grilling a few; the kitchen was well-appointed. The beds are comfortable, living spaces were ample for two adults, a 3rd for a couple weeks, and the dogs. We enjoyed exploring all the villages of SSI! So many great restaraunts, great shopping, wonderful history in the region. It was exactly what we were looking for. The property management team could not have been nicer, more attentive to our needs. The wifi allowed us to work remotely, stream all our faves using the Fire stick we brought. We’re going back next year again. Very good value too.

Close to Beach

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Check-in was easy and staff nice. Rental was in a great location and close to beach. Was very disappointed in the rental: it needs a deep cleaning, furniture and carpet was stained, pet stains on carpet, kitchen poorly equipped, Keurig coffee maker leaked and was not able to turn off air conditioning and we froze. No extra blankets. Owners need to put some money into this apartment to update and clean. I would stay there again, if cleaned and updated, otherwise not worth the money.

The hottest part of the day was sheltered from the sun and there was a gentle breeze most of the time. The rooms were large and had everything we needed.
