Place was perfect for me and my 14 friends for our golf and lake trip. Shelly was extremely helpful and communicated well. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a fun lake house experience!

The house was so clean and comfortable both inside and out! It even smelled amazing like a fancy hotel. We had a great time on the lake, in the hot tub, and had a fire every night. The house was equipped with everything we needed and the hosts were very responsive and easy to communicate with. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway I would highly recommend!

Perfect Family Get Away

The property is perfect for a family vacation. The home is very clean, well stocked and gave us all time to relax and enjoy our time together. We really enjoyed the beach and the boat and had a great time fishing. We loved our time here and would definitely book here again!

Would absolutely return annually! Perfect beach for families with little ones that enjoy shallow water activities. Garage/game room great for older kids and adults to spend time. Lakeview deck (awning available) was my favorite spot.

Enjoyable holiday weekend

Enjoyed 5 nights away for the holiday weekend. The cottage was very clean with plenty of room. We used the pontoon, kayaks, hot tub, etc. communication was great! Would definitely recommend.

Great stay for group of friends!

We absolutely loved staying here - Jordan Lake is perfect for pontooning and/or a little water sports! The lake is the perfect size and not too crowded. The house is beautiful and looks exactly like the photos. We were nervous given it hadn’t had any reviews but the hosts were amazing and had everything we needed - kitchen stocked, paddle board, kayak, tubes, etc. Decor is cute and House is very clean as well! Thank you for having us!!

Kayaks, sunsets & s'mores, oh my!

4 generations of our family with 9 adults & 6 under 6 had a great time! Easy check in (even offered early), room for 15 and top notch amenities made everything flow smoothly. Did not rent the boat, but enjoyed kayaking the nearby tributary, paddle boarding, relaxing on floats, lounging on the deck or playing games on the shore. Water level and sand area was perfect for the little ones! Enjoyed downtown Lake Odessa and local eats Penny's Pizza, Buddy's and Meyers Bakery along with utilizing the grill and fully stocked kitchen daily. The city playground is close by and super fun! Loved this property and would highly recommend it!

Overall a great stay and Shelly and Jimmy were very helpful and responsive. Appreciated the streamlined and neatly organized kitchen! The house was very clean and extra parking was appreciated. We didn’t realize that this was not quite a sandy beach to the water. The garage had fun games but not ideal space for sleeping or dining (the only dining table). We were able to eat all our meals outside near the water, which was nice, but we were all spaced apart.

Our group of 11 (6 adults, 5 children) utilized every inch of this beautiful lake house. There was enough space for everyone although tight. The kids loved sleeping in the combination garage/bedroom/gameroom/dining room. A separate large dining room would be nice for larger groups like ours. Master bedroom suite was very nice. Remaining bedrooms were tight with no nightstands or dressers. Outdoor spaces were great. The extended shallow beach was ideal for the young children.We experienced many unseen events including a lake water treatment which prevented us from going in the water for 24 hours!, a 14 hour power outage, followed by a tornado the next night! We almost packed up and left early. In the end, the power came back on and we decided it added to our memorable vacation.Our hosts, Shelly and Jimmy were accomodating and did what they could to make it right.Suggestions would be to have luggage racks available in bedrooms and at least a nightstand. Make it clear that there is no separate dining area. Even with with windows closed, traffic and train noise were substantial.

While these circumstances were completely outside of our control, we worked hard to support your group throughout your stay and offered both a complimentary boat day and an additional complimentary night to help offset the inconvenience. We appreciate your suggestions regarding luggage racks and bedroom furnishings and will take them into consideration. For future guests, our listing photos and description accurately reflect the home’s layout, including the dining and gathering spaces. We’re happy that despite the unexpected challenges, your family was able to enjoy the property and create lasting vacation memories.

The home was beautiful and comfortable. We had a large group of multigenerational family and friends. There are four bedrooms and the fifth is the garage which has been converted into a large space for additional sleeping quarters (and dining). We rented the pontoon boat for the entire stay, which worked out really well. There is a restaurant on the lake that you can get to via boat or vehicle, which is a nice option. There is also a grocery store in town with everything you need, including a lifejacket for our smallest one, firewood, etc. There is also a washer and dryer which is handy. One challenge we had was with the pre-arrival communication. The host had an error in my email address, so I did not receive important documents she had sent ahead of time. As a result, I ended up having to complete everything the morning I was leaving, which was stressful and time-consuming. To her credit, she acknowledged the mistake once it was caught.Also, the VRBO platform makes communication between the host and guest difficult, which added to the challenge. This is something to be aware of if you’re booking. This was my first time booking on the site so I was not aware of the aforementioned variables. Now that I know, I would confirm communication early on in the process. Overall, it’s a lovely lake property and I would recommend you book!

We loved the house and the pontoon boat. A few minor things. The listing said coffee grinder and blender we could not find either. With 3 bathrooms and all the things the house offered there were no hairdryers. And the last issue pickleball on the property?? We did without those things and had a great time. I would suggest to anyone renting any property take pics before and after and contact the property manager as soon as you see or have an issue. All and all the house is beautiful and accommodated our family of 12 from baby-small children- young adults and parents with things to do on the property. I would totally recommend the stay!

Thank you for your feedback, Rose. We’re glad your family enjoyed the home, pontoon, and the many amenities the property has to offer. We would like to clarify a few items for future guests. Our listing does not advertise pickleball courts on the property; public pickleball courts are located less than half a mile away in town. We will also review the listing regarding the coffee grinder and blender and appreciate you bringing those items to our attention. We also want to provide some context regarding the checkout concern referenced in this review. Unfortunately, multiple checkout instructions were not followed, including dishes being left unwashed, trash not being removed, requested laundry not being started, food and spills being left on the counters, and the boat not being properly covered. The condition required substantially more cleaning and turnover time than a normal checkout, which resulted in an additional cleaning fee. After Rose contacted us to dispute the charge, we listened to her concerns and ultimately chose to waive the additional fee as a courtesy. We’re pleased that despite these concerns, Rose and her family had a great time, found the home beautiful and accommodating, and would recommend the stay.

Beautiful home on an inland lake

We stayed 6 days in the home and had 12 people with us. The home was large enough to accommodate us all. Separate bedrooms for 4 separate families. With a group this large, we had 4 vehicles. Parking is tight (2 in the garage, 2 in the driveway - very tight). The view of the lake is pretty amazing the deck has great furniture for relaxing. There is a small sandy beach which we took advantage of by setting up our Cornhole boards which family could watch from the deck or from the adirondack chairs near the Solo Stove Fire Pit. The home was clean with modern amenities. We put the kitchen to use with a group of 12. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything you'd need to cook. The non-stick pans were perfect for made-to-order omlettes. The home is close to perfect, but there are some things to know about with the location. The house is at the east end of the lake which means seaweed and other debris will get pushed to the beach. There is a blower on the dock that will push most of it away, but it's worth noting. The home is also right off a busy street and near rail road tracks. Not super loud, but again worth noting. The big question would be, would we rent there again? We sure would. It's a great home on a beautiful lake. Lots of family memories can be made there.

Great place

Great Lake house! Perfect for a get together on a lake! Lots of beds, lots of outdoor chairs and nice patio, dock, and beach. We rented the pontoon boat, which made the vacation so amazing to be able to cruise the lake, fish, and relax. Shelly is very responsive and answered all our questions!

Awesome Getaway

We had a great time at the lake house! The updated modern feel and cleanliness of the place was amazing. We shared the space with long time best friends and their families and had a great stay. The pontoon boat is fabulous (once we figured out how to start it LOL). All the kids enjoyed crashing in front of the giant TV in the evening and playing games in the sun-drenched eating area. The master bedroom upstairs was gorgeous with a walkout balcony overlooking the lake. We used the enclosed space on the adjoining lot as a work space for those who needed to do some work away from home. We cooked all of our meals in the kitchen as it was well stocked; and enjoyed sunsets sitting outside laughing and sharing memories.

Great Vacation Home

This was a cozy cottage with everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. The children enjoyed the fun touches like LED light strips in the bedroom and large TVs in every room. The water was shallow and good for kids wading, and we took the kayaks out for a ride too. There was a pontoon boat available but we decided not to rent it. Nice view from the master bedroom, and there was a handy grocery store a short distance away. The fishing was not very good, but that is probably due to how shallow the water is near the cottage. Checking in and out was easy and communication was fast.

Family Reunion

This charming home was perfect in every way for our family get together. The house was fully stocked with everything. From start to finish, Shelly, the owner, was helpful, responsive and professional. Our family reunions happen infrequently and the home away from home was everything and more! Perfectly located with so much to do at the house and on on the lake. We didn't want to leave!

Great spot for a relaxing lake retreat

We had a great long weekend with friends at Lake Odessa. The house is beautiful and right on the lake, with nice views, especially at sunset. We enjoyed the full set of lake toys/activities, particularly the kayaks. Recommend renting the pontoon boat for relaxing trips around the lake and pitstops at Buddy's. Location is convenient to Grand Rapids.
