Guests are sure to enjoy a memorable vacation in this fully furnished, 1 bedroom and 1 bath cottage, 30 miles west of Milwaukee. This is a cottage, while not fancy, has the complete rustic and cozy feeling that any outdoors person will be excited to stay. Come and join us for fishing, boating, swimming, canoeing, kayaking and enjoy a fire by the lake or a fire inside on cold nights. Comfortable for sleeping 4-6. A number of stairs lead to the cottage that is situated 60 feet from the lake. There is an area for the kids to play in a small sandy area onshore. See photos and don't expect a beach.
Charges to the refundable deposit may apply due to excess cleaning that may be needed.

Great lake cottage!

The owner was awesome - very responsive and helpful. Think idyllic little cottage on a small Wisconsin lake and you won't be disappointed. It's also close to towns and restaurants - the best of both worlds.

Peaceful tranquility

Our stay couldn’t have been any better!! The home was perfect, bed incredibly comfortable and amazing view. We will be back every winter!!

Excellent Owner

We had a nice time on this wonderful, clean lake. We were able to kayak and canoe. We tried fishing but there were only tiny fish to be had; it was fun nonetheless. Sat on the dock, in the sun and ate dinner. Decided to cut our trip short because of bad weather, because hey, you go to a lake house to be on the lake, not stuck inside.

Wonderful Lakefront Cottage

We had a great weekend on Hunters Lake. Steve was a helpful host and saved the day by meeting us late at night on the main road to take us directly to the cottage. Be sure to let him know if you're arriving after sunset. The home has all the basics you will need including coffee! The lake is pretty quiet; we spent most of the afternoon kayaking, fishing off the dock and chatting with a few neighbors and the evening enjoying the fire pit (and included firewood!) It isn't the fanciest place, but that isn't what you're looking for in a cottage, is it?! Great getaway from the city. Highly recommend!

Peaceful Holiday Hideaway

This cozy cabin was perfect for our family of three over the holidays. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook meals. Steve was a wonderful host and very easy to communicate with. Would definitely stay again!

Joined a good friend for a visit for our 45th high school reunion. We had a very nice time at Steve's Cottage, a nice relaxing place great for catching up with old friends.

Great Well-Stocked Remote Cabin with Best Host

This is my second time staying at Steve’s with groups of 5, and we love it! We’ll definitely be coming back. Steve is awesome, super communicative and a great host. The cabin is insanely well stocked, including things like multiple BBQs, firewood, kayaks, kitchen stuff, towels. If you’re looking for a classic cabin experiences full of great surprises, this is the place.

Great cabin on a lake

We were very happy with the house and property. The owner has made sure that if you forgot something it is most likely available in the house. The lake is incredibly peaceful and relaxing. We went fishing in the kayaks and later enjoyed a fire pit at night. We thoroughly loved it! Thank you Steve.

Fishing trip

Spent the night with a couple of friends to do some fishing. Steve was communicative from the start and was very flexible for both check-in and check-out!

Helpful host

Steve was very helpful and a great communicator. This cottage is a great place and plenty of space. We needed a last minute place to stay that allows for dogs and Steve was generous enough to make it available when the dates were blocked off. He made sure we had all the directions and instructions a few days in advance and made sure everything was ok once we got there. Highly recommend!

Steve is great

The cottage had everything we needed. Fun on lake with the kayaks and paddle boat. The owner Steve is great. Like Steve said in his description, it’s not the ritz so don’t expect that but a fun place to stay and a good restaurant right down the street

Disappointed

Here are some comments concerning our visit. The Positives: - there was space for us us to move around. - being non-peak season it was very quiet at night which we appreciate. -having a washer and dryer after I removed the dirty clothes and ran a clean cycle in the washer. -prompt communication response from the host with our questions. - lake setting with some pretty sunrises and sets. -bathroom spacious. - some nice wall décor. - able to cook meals. On the not so great side, we almost bolted upon arrival by being greeted by an old sock on a metal shelfing, water bottles scattered around in various stages of use or non-use , construction equipment, numerous containers very toxic insect repellent all over the outside areas, dirty outdoor furniture, carton of drinks on the cement floor. A very junky, messy and cluttered outdoor appearance. Inside: - very musty entry with toxic chemicals on the wood shelves-paint, bleach, an acid to remove stains. The musty smell permeated any clothes we had out of the suitcases. - kitchen counters were filthy, crumbs on the table. I had to wipe down several refrigerator shelves and the bins before we could place our food in the refrigerator. - paper products, glasses, trash bags stored all over resulting in hopes that nothing would fall on one's head. -Safety issues other than toxic materials laying about include multiple electrical cord hookups under the throw rugs. did not see any smoke detectors. - Mattress is very old with minimal support. - Shower curtain is dirty and I had to disinfect the shower/tub floor before using. We have rented through VRBO previously in WI so had high expectations for cleanliness. comfort and respect for guests. The cottage could be quite charming. There's some nice pieces of furniture but they are overshadowed by the clutter.
