Very nice and quiet location. Steps from the ocean with beautiful views from the room. The bed was a little hard but ok. The only complaint would be that arrival details didn't exist. There was no one to be found. We finally saw a young child that we asked if his parents were around. He ran into a house at the front of the property and a bit later his mother came out and helped us. I could have checked in there if I knew that was the process. But, that was the only issue. The rest of our stay was fabulous. We had the beach to ourselves most of the time. I would recommend this place as I don't like the crowds like you find in town on the north end of the island.

The view is amazing! The owners are the nicest people! The pool is more impressive than the pictures!! You can view the ocean from the pool and it is breathtaking. The sunsets are amazing, and the property manager goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable! We are already picking out our stay for next year!

My wife and I were looking for a relaxing vacation, and we picked the perfect spot. The grounds, the beach the pool were fantastic. Our host Lindell and Steve were wonderful to us. we will definitely be going back.

Villa Makax is a little slice of paradise. Our casita was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed, including a well-equipped kitchen. The entire property is beautifully maintained, and it’s clear that Steve, Lindell, and their team put a great deal of care into keeping it that way.The pool, views, and peaceful surroundings are serene and almost surreal. We also enjoyed getting to know Steve and Lindell a bit and learning about their journey and life on the island. Their staff was kind and helpful throughout our stay.Villa Makax is off the beaten path and away from the crowds, which was exactly what we were looking for. We explored the island mostly on foot, though golf carts and mopeds are readily available for rent. Having a couple of restaurants within walking distance was an added bonus.We loved our stay and hope to return one day.

The view was incredible! Loved the over all look of the cottage. It was a little confusing trying to find it but once you did getting into the room was easy! The only thing I was less than thrilled about was our gecko roommates. They mostly kept to themselves on the ceiling/ upper walls but they were quite chatty at night. I wouldn’t let it keep you from staying here. It really is a beautiful location as long as you aren’t scared of lizards (they’re EVERYWHERE on the island)

Relaxing Stay

Stayed in Cottage Sam - Clean, well-appointed, good wi-fi, and amazing view and proximity to the ocean - Awesome pool - Owners were great - Nothing can beat waking up to the ocean view; quiet, private beach; super relaxing

Cozy little spot

We stayed here for my wife's birthday this year, and everything was wonderful. If you're looking for a more chill and relaxing place to stay, it doesn't get much better than this. The host was magnificent, and we felt so welcome.

AMAZING

Amazing property, could not have asked for anything better. So good we will be returning again (and again). The location is so peaceful and quiet, just what we wanted. Please don’t change a thing 😊

Fabulous!

My boyfriend and I loved the beautiful slice of beach, sunsets, and chill atmosphere of the palapa as it is removed from the main downtown. One of my favorite vacations of all time! Highly recommend.

winter break

this was the most relaxing places we've been. Just the sound of the waves, the breezes. Nothing to do but laze about and read! Perfect.

Perfect Quiet Spot

Quaint little bungalows with little kitchenette, 20-30ft from ocean or pool. On west side, away from busy Central. Grab a golf cart or moped, and the island is yours (restaurants, pubs, grocery). Little property dogs to keep you occupied (they love treats). Steve and his wife are great hosts.

Loved it!

I can’t say anything bad about this place!! Unique place to stay. Perfect spot away from the busy Centro area. Peaceful, great view, nice pool. Friendly owners. Let’s not forget about Juan who can help you with many questions, taxi ect. Golf cart was a must for us because we like to get out and explore. We would stay here again!

Private Paradise

Really loved everything about the property. So private. We stayed in Cottage Sam which was amazing - from the bed you can look out to the sea and listen to the gently lapping waves. The pool was also amazing with lots of chairs and floating devices as well as a outdoor living space. A really rare find and would highly recommend Villa Makax
