Hurry! Summer 2026 has only one week remaining--the week of June 6 (the nights of June 6 through June 12). There are also some available weeks in September to enjoy the fall colors, the last of the swimming season, and cozy nights by the fireplace. Minimum stay 7 nights,

Four Sisters Point nestles on a point on Lake Katherine, a clear, quiet, 600-acre lake in the North Woods of Wisconsin. Lake Katherine ("the Jewel of the North Woods") offers the best in fishing and water sports as well as a quiet serenity unique in the popular Minocqua area.

The cottage commands a special spot on this pristine, clear lake. Sitting atop a small hill on the edge of a peninsula with the lake wrapping around it, it boasts a lake view from the deck and from every room (Well, not the bathrooms...)

Four Sisters point has a 40-foot pier in a quiet bay. With 400 feet of private shoreline, a private sandy beach, and two acres of private pine woods, there is much to explore. Fishing, water-skiing, swimming, and boating await sports-lovers. Nearby Minocqua has lively shopping, dining and entertainment. For a rainy day, there is a big stone fireplace, two TVs, a small library, a collection of games, and WIFI.

This is a great place to get away in the spring and fall, as well as summer. The sound of the loons, a cozy fireplace, beautiful views of spring or fall foliage all await you for a romantic getaway, a fishing break, or a secluded retreat.

For those who love to fish, Lake Katherine's 600 acres have a maximum depth of 30 feet. Visitors can bring their boats in from a public boat landing or use our rowboat to fish for muskie, panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and walleye. You can fish from the dock as well.

The location was just beautiful and serene. Views of the woods and lake from most rooms and the large deck. Very comfortable accomodations.

We had a wonderful week at the cabin. Very comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, and Plenty of room for everyone. Each room decorated so nicely. The private pier on the lake with row boat was a big hit! Kids caught fish every day. Great communication with owner and property manager. Would highly recommend. Don’t miss out on making great memories at this cabin!

Family Getaway

From beginning to end this stay was more than we hoped for. The home was exactly as described and our whole family loved the history found within the home. Lake Katherine is a special place and the home and property was just what we needed. We also appreciated that we could bring our lake loving adventurous dog with us too! Thanks for a week creating life long memories!

Cozy Cabin Retreat

We love this place! Mary always says, “welcome to the Four Sisters Point family,” and we really feel like family when we are here, surrounded by history, beauty, and warmth. We keep wanting more so this is our 3rd stay. We enjoy breakfast at the kitchen table while admiring the lake view, lounging on the large deck, sitting around a warm fire while roasting marshmallows, playing games, reading, and admiring wildlife. Other fun activities are fishing, kayaking, hiking, listening to loons, and watching bald eagles sore in the air. The bedrooms are lovingly decorated, and the cozy kitchen has plenty of room for chef’s helpers at the table. A cozy retreat we genuinely enjoy, and hope others will too!

No washing machine

Beautiful cabin on a very beautiful lake. My only complaint is that it was a lot of extra work having to bring linen for 5 beds, bath towels for 2 bathrooms, kitchen and beach towels. No washer or dryer. We had to buy all the sheets because the beds were not sizes we have at home.

Coziest, loveliest cabin! Perfect getaway.

We loved our stay at this cozy, lovely cabin. The location on the lake is the absolute best for a dazzling sunset each evening. Unless it's raining, in which case it's a perfect place to cozy up by the fire under the pines with a good book. The location is close to town and to numerous activities, but on a more peaceful lake, perfect for a quiet getaway. The cabin is well stocked with linens, very clean and well maintained, and extremely well-managed and organized. All the directions were very clear and our stay was very easy. The large deck is also so beautiful, and a perfect place to gather around the fire pit with family at night. There are many activities nearby as well, including local theater, lumberjacks shows and restaurants, ski shows, canoe trips, raft trips, bike trips, and lots of hiking and boating. I would definitely recommend staying here, and hope to be back here again very soon!

Beautiful cabin in the woods

Such a charming cottage, and what a view! It’s obvious that this is a true family getaway and not an impersonal corporate rental. From the cute, cabin-themed rooms to the cozy eat-in kitchen and the expansive deck, we found everything we needed, and all the memorabilia made us feel part of the family. We were happy to provide our own linens, as I’m never sure – even in a hotel! – how often sheets and towels are laundered. Since we drive up anyway, it’s easy to throw them in the car. If we need to, we just use one of several laundromats in town, and we don’t have to worry about accidentally taking away something that isn’t ours. This was our third time to rent from Mary, and whether it’s for a week with friends or a family trip with the kids, we always look forward to our next visit!

Lake Katherine Family reunion

My wife’s family used to have an A Frame on Lake Katherine and she used to spend summers up there during her childhood and teen years. This was always a special place for her and she had not been up here in years. Always had been a bucket list for her to return. Turns out, 4 Sisters Pt is ACROSS THE STREET! The place is PERFECT. We had 6 adults and one 3 year old. Perfect size. Kitchen was a bit small but we spent all of our time on the beautiful deck and on the water and pier. Only thing we didn’t like was that the small oven really didn’t work well so we had to grill out which was not horrible. We plan to go back every year if we are fortunate enough to get similar dates. Very highly recommended!!

Perfect End of Summer Getaway

We always enjoy staying at Four Sisters Point. The cottage is a comfortable blend of rustic and modern that has been lovingly cared for. It's spacious enough for our group of 8 (ranging in age from 2 to 75) but still feels cozy and welcoming. Our early September trip was later than previous visits but we were treated to some gorgeous fall foliage as the golds and reds of autumn were starting to pop out against the green pines. The days were still warm and pleasant and the brisk twilight air was perfect for relaxing around the deck’s fire pit to watch the sunset over the lake. We rarely wanted to leave the peace of the Point but we spent one day in nearby Minocqua exploring the shops and enjoying cheese curds, walleye and local beer. We also picked up some amazing smoked fish, corn and local honey in the Farmer’s Market at a nearby park. We’ve had the pleasure of staying at Four Sisters Point several times over the past decade and are looking forward to our next opportunity to share this special place with friends and family.

Plenty of room for all 8 family members, from adults to teenagers to an 8 year old.

Very clean, easy check in and out. Clear instructions on what to expect and what to bring along with us. Mary was excellent to work with as was the property manager Lanae. Very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

A Little Bit of North Woods Paradise!

My husband and I stayed at this lovely cabin for a week, which was way too short! Beautiful location and a historical and lovingly cared for abode. It is everything you would expect of a true "North Woods" experience and then some. The cabin is comfortable and cozy and it is intriguing to explore because of the generational aspect of having a cabin in the family for over a century!! The cabin sits on a peninsula surrounded on 3 sides by gorgeous Lake Katherine and there is a view of the water from every room. Sitting in front of the fireplace on a chilly morning with your first cup of coffee was so peaceful and stress relieving. Nature in all it's glory surrounds the cabin and we saw an abundance of wildlife! Chipmunks & red squirrels & deer. We spotted a Loon & 3 eagles across the lake. We even had the rare experience of glancing out of one of the many windows and spotting a Bobcat walking by!! It was so amazing seeing this elusive cat in it's natural habitat and not on Animal Planet!! The cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay & it is decorated in a quirky eclectic north-woodsy way. It was an experience just to explore the cabin and read the experiences of other visitors and the family history in log books. We could not have had a better or more relaxing experience at Four Sisters Point!! Just adored it!!

Nice cabin on great lake

This is a nice cabin on a great lake. Mary was super to work with and quickly answered all of our questions. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate the way we had hoped, however there was a nice supply of dry fire wood which we were very thankful for.

This is the third time I rented this cabin with friends. The place is quiet, peaceful, rustic and well maintained. During the day we enjoyed canoeing around Lake Katherine, fishing, swimming, reading, hunting for mushrooms, and sitting on the docks watching/listening to bald eagles. In the evenings we would grill, chill and admire spectacular sunsets and listen to the sound of loons as darkness set in. There is a lovely fireplace in the living room to help take the chill out of the air at night and roast marshmallows. We had great wifi reception with no problem using our cell phones. We are planning another visit in the near future. It's starting to feel like a second home. Lots of great memories with more to come.

Stunning views!

This cabin has a great location and we love coming here! The view of the lake is amazing from the deck, kitchen, and many other places in the cabin and all over the property! The cabin itself has everything you will ever need - both old and new - comfy beds, micowave, tv, internet, a great fireplace, 2 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, a fireplace, parking spaces, this place has it! Great for families or groups, plenty of beds and space. The owner has done a great job with this property and has great contact - we will be coming back again next year!

A beautiful and peaceful retreat

I have stayed at Four Sisters Point several times over the years, and it keeps getting better! The cabin includes all the touches and amenities of a family place, maintained with care, skill, and love. There is plenty of space to accommodate guests in comfort, and yet the cabin still feels cozy. The extensive deck is fabulous! Lake Katherine is quiet and lovely--perfect for swimming, canoeing, fishing, and more. This spot is a great base for taking in all that is offered by the North Woods of Wisconsin.

A fishing getaway...

What a great place for fishing! I spent several weeks here - and the beauty is how easy and relaxing the experiences were. I would get up in the morning, pack water and something to eat, and spend the day rowing to various points, structure and docks to cast to. The numbers of largemouth and smallmouth bass made up for catching any monsters...great exercise as well. With so many lakes in the area - you don't have to worry about much fishing pressure...I am looking forward to seeing the nesting bald eagles as well. Lake Katherine is picture perfect.

Best getaway I've ever had!

My husband and I stayed at Four Sisters Point when I got home from Afghanistan and this was not my first time there. Getting to Four Sisters Point every year has become a "given." It simply must happen. The cabin is well-maintained and I always look forward to seeing what Mary has done to make the experience more enjoyable. Booking is seamless. With all the amenities and a view of the lake from every room, you simply can't find a better place to stay. Tranquility abounds, but adventure is to be found for those who seek it! I even caught my limit of bass last year (but I won't tell you where!)! Fresh air, beautiful trees, cozy rooms, spacious deck, and Lake Katherine. I love this place and will return again and again!

Another Wonderful Week At Four Sisters Point

This summer we were fortunate to spend another great week at Lake Katherine. It was our 4th trip to Mary's cabin, although the last time was in 2008 (too long ago). Our family has grown since then, so our son's families split up the week with grandma and grandpa. The weather was great, and we spent a lot of time on the lake, boating and fishing. Also spent a lot of time by the dock, with the kids having a great time in the water. Lots of campfires, both in the firepit by the lake and the firepit on the large, expanded deck. Because the property is so large, at times it seemed that we had the lake to ourselves. There were a couple of trips to Minocqua to enjoy the tourist things and a "dinner out" for grandma and grandpa at one of the great Northwoods restaurants. We have been at the cabin in June, July, and August and they have all been great stays. We truly enjoy the privacy at Four Sisters Point and how Mary has been able to keep the quaint "Up North" cabin atmosphere while adding the modern things that we enjoy. Fabulous fun in the woods!

My sisters and a friend and I rented the cabin for a fun "girls' week" away from the husbands and kiddos. We had a great time! The shopping in Minocqua is always relaxing, and there's never a lack of fun things to do around the cabin. We enjoyed swimming in the lake, listening to the loons, and watching the bald eagles soar overhead. The cabin itself was perfect because it allowed togetherness while still being large enough for each us to have our own bedroom and personal space. The kitchen is perfectly adequate for cooking simple meals, but there are plenty of good restaurants nearby if you'd rather not cook. Other cabins I've rented didn't provide all the little conveniences of this one. The fact that simple things like paper goods, spices, and cooking utensils are already provided makes packing much easier! If you want to explore the local area, you MUST go to Copper Falls State Park about 1 1/2 hours north. It is simply breathtaking!

We recently returned from...

We recently returned from a wonderful week (July 19-26, 2008) at Four Sisters Point cottage (our third visit in four years). It is a very private getaway on a peaceful lake, far enough away from the sometimes busy town of Minocqua, but still close enough to enjoy the many restaurants, etc. available in the area. There were 3 generations of our family, ranging from 2 to 58 years old. The kids had a great time fishing from the rowboat, playing on the beach, and sitting around the campfire. The adults enjoyed boating on this beautiful northwoods lake and just relaxing. We are all looking forward to returning next year.

August 2005-We just spent...

August 2005-We just spent a wonderful week at Four Sisters Point. The cabin was spotless and very comfortable. The kids and hubby were asking about coming back in 2006 the moment they came back from fishing the first day! Mornings were my favorite--waking up to the loons calling and sitting on the deck watching the hummingbirds. Thanks for sharing this wonderful family cabin.

My family and I had a won...

My family and I had a wonderful vacation here! The cabin is close enough to town for a quick trip for any reason, but secluded enough that you don't feel crowded by other vacationers. The cabin is beautifully cared for and very "homey." You'll never want to leave! My two boys (5 and 9), normally couch-potatoes at home, spent all days outside and never even thought about TV. The lake views from every room are wonderful. I plan to come back next year!

Our September visit has b...

Our September visit has been a delight. Though we thought we might miss the best of summer, there were still days warm enough for swimming and pleasant evenings on the deck. On cooler or rainy nights, the fireplace provides a cozy atmosphere. The place is tranquil, with few other boats sharing our beautiful lake and star-filled nights. The birds are still here, hummingbirds, loons, hawks and woodpeckers. There is a stunning variety of mushrooms around the property. We're not knowledgeable enough to try eating any, but we are delighted by the variety of shapes and sizes and colors, from reds and yellows to bright white and purply-gray. In September, the height of tourist season has passed, so shopping is uncrowded and the sounds of nature prevail.

My grandfather first purchased this prime acreage on beautiful Lake Katherine in 1912. Since then, the cottage has grown from little more than a lean-to to the warm 4-bedroom, 2-bath retreat it is now. It's a great place to get together with other family members to share time and memories, and to keep old and make new traditions. You'll find historical photos and books, as well as carefully curated decor in keeping with the deep history and authentic nature of this special place.

Our family has been coming to this place since 1912. While my grandfather was living, we came up early every summer, and my father spent his 'vacation' making sure the place was ready for Granddad's summer there--woodpile full, maintenance done, etc. The hours after supper were spent singing to the tune of our Dad's old ukulele and playing cribbage with Granddad.

We are fortunate in having a "family" of repeat renters who come year after year and treat this special place as their own. We're always looking for new "Four Sisters Point Family" members who seek an exceptional, unique place to claim as their home away from home.

A lazy drive down the winding "woodsy road" (South Shore Drive) puts you well in the embrace of the pine woods and the lake and ready for relaxation and adventure. No other cottages can be seen from Four Sisters Point, although neighbors are only a few hundred yards away.

It is easy to spend the whole time here listening to the loons, watching the chipmunks, looking for eagles, swimming, and puttering around. Going into Hazelhurst or Minocqua, both less than 10 minutes away, is fun, and there are also lots of other things to do in the area, but the chance to slow down enough to listen to the wind in the pines, watch the lake sparkle in late afternoon, and admire the sunset until its last rays disappear over the lake is the best. You won't find a vacation home with more history, more enchantment, more true North Woods feel than Four Sisters Point.
