Come enjoy a peaceful and private getaway located in the back hills of Richford, NY - 30 minutes from downtown Ithaca and 40 from Binghamton. This quaint 2 story, 2 bed, 1 bath home is on 10 acres of it's own woods and trails and also overlooks 1180 acres of state forest. A short driveway inclines slightly to a level parking area. The cozy and relaxing front porch is stunning. However, please note the steep bank off the porch, making this cottage unsuitable for young children.

Great place for a retreat from your busy life

This is a great little place, on quiet country road. It was clean with lots of amenities and comfortable beds and pillows - we felt right at home. It a short distance from Ithaca for day trip or to grab some dinner out. Sue was responsive to requests and made check-in and check-out very easy. I would definitely book again.

Stunning location and accommodations

Wonderful views and some hiking trails right behind the house. Close to state parks. Charming farm cottage well equipped kitchen so no need to leave for meals.

Ideal secluded cottage near Ithaca

The cottage was perfect for our trip and stay. Exactly as described. Clean, rustic and a bit eclectic in style. Very comfortable and had everything we needed. 30 minute drive to all the sites in Ithaca. We’ll probably be back.

Cute & cozy cottage!

We enjoyed five days at this cute and cozy cottage. Sue, the host, was very nice to work with and thought of everything a guest might need. The cottage was clean and decorated so cute. The peaceful porch was the perfect place to relax!

Great place

Second visit, first with two adult children and this time with my husband. He loved it, too! Truly like stepping back in time. It’s obvious that Sue loves this place and wants her guests to be comfortable. Inside, everything you could need is provided. Outside, the yard and gardens are beautiful and a joy to spend time in. Likewise with the porch, with views of the pond and a chorus of bullfrogs, and sights and sounds of so many birds. Far enough from everything to be peaceful but close enough to get to Dryden, Cortland or Ithaca quickly, and very reasonable priced for the area. We hope to return again.

Great stay, recommended to a friend!

The house was exactly as seen and described. Plenty of room for my family of 4 with teenagers. Fire pit was great, with plenty of stacked wood. Coffee maker, French and tea selection press where added bonuses. Everything was wonderful. Thank you!

Sue definitely knows how to run a top notch accommodation. Everything was perfect and she adds so many extra touches. She made an extra allowance for us without hesitation. There is not enough description to describe how incredible this cottage and property are maintained. Truly can’t think of one negative. Book now!!

Absolutely beautiful!

My husband, mother and I were visiting New York to attend my son's graduation from Cornell. This home was just perfect. Beautiful, relaxing, peaceful. Everything we needed was right there ready for us, and Sue thought of everything. I would have loved to stay longer, and hope someday to be back. I can't recommend this place any higher.

Lovely cottage

Charming cottage well provisioned with spices, coffees and teas. Fire pit stocked with amazing views of the night sky. Zero light pollution seen from property (other than house lights). Just a few miles from state parks. Wonderful deep tub with nice hot water. So many birds to watch on the porch.

Lovely Stay at the Cottage

We had an amazing time staying at the cottage for the weekend! Everything was very clean and amenities were great. Location was very beautiful and peaceful as well, very easy to relax on the porch for hours. Great spot!

This was the perfect place! We couldn’t have asked for a better location or vibe. We wished our weekend was endless and can’t wait to visit again! A small cabin with great hangout porch surrounded by bird feeders and forest. Definitely a place to unwind and relax to the max😁

perfect and very private.

Set down a long dirt road, perched on a rocky knoll lies the perfect getaway,very smooth check and the house was perfect, old farmhouse feel inside, we sat for hours watching all the birds on the deck. If you're looking for the perfect spot to getaway this is it!
