FALLEN LEAVES ON THE RIVER is a three story, chalet style cabin, nestled within an 8500 acre mountain river resort. It is situated in a lush setting on the Coosawattee River in Ellijay, Georgia. And YES.... this river photo is the front yard !! Recently remodeled to provide a luxurious stay while enjoying the beautiful mountains and river. Including a gorgeous walk in shower in Master Bath. Brand new kitchen with gas oven/stove and dishwasher. Freshly updated and ready for you to come enjoy!

Enjoy a gorgeous drive through the windy mountain roads of the Coosawattee River resort down to your little piece of heaven on the river. Gorgeous river frontage on Coosawattee River! The river is wide and full of rocks that create the most soothing river music... perfect for relaxing.

Rooms are inviting and well appointed with everything you would need to make your stay comfortable. Hardwood floors and tongue and groove ceilings give you a warm feeling, while the two story stone fireplace provide you with warmth for those cozy nights.

"Fallen Leaves" is great for a romantic getaway for two or a vacation for one or more families to get together. It sleeps up to 8 guests.  The kitchen and laundry room are fully-equipped.  We provide all the comforts of home... in fact, please make Fallen Leaves your home during your stay!!!

Enjoy cooking out on the gas grill located on the second story deck, while listening to the rushing waters of the Coosawattee River or while simply admiring all the lush foliage that surrounds you. Top outside deck has lounge chairs to sit and watch the river or read a book - quiet, peaceful and relaxing!

The game room is furnished for your enjoyment with a pool table and games for all ages.  The game room takes up the entire first floor & can be used as a third bedroom, as it has a queen size sofa bed & half bath.

We know you'll fall in love with our Mountain River Lodge. And yes, the river photo shown on this website will be your view every day during your stay at "Fallen Leaves."

Only 1.5 hours from Atlanta and Chattanooga - Fallen Leaves River Lodge is the perfect place for a retreat from the rush of busy life. Come enjoy the quaint town of Ellijay, known for it's Apples, Wineries, gorgeous hiking and water sports - not to mention the friendly locals! We know you will love your stay!  

Nightly rate includes first 4 guests, additional guests (up to 8) are an additional $15 per person per night.

Ring floodlight camera facing driveway/ entry area & side of home for security purposes.

Please note: The main living area is on the second floor. You will use outdoor stairs to enter initially and indoor stairs to reach the upper and lower levels. Exit to ground floor on basement level.

Everything here has been exceptional the past three times we have stayed here.Valerie, the host, is amazing and is attentive to guests’needs by keeping kitchen stocked with nice perks like already ready-to-go coffee necessities-creamer, sugar in little, ziploc bags, skewers for marshmallows for bonfires, ziploc bags, saran wrap, and even trash bags! This is a huge plus and makes our stay even more enjoyable each time.The river view is absolutely beautiful and it is our favorite place to vacation.

Gilmer County Getaway

Location was excellent! Even though we were in a "resort community" we had tons of privacy. Located right on the water with easy access. The cabin was very comfortable and very clean on the inside. The only complaints would be the stairs, porch and outside furniture was very dirty. I didn't mind sweeping up and cleaning the chairs and tables, but some folks may feel differently. This is not the best place to swim as itis very rocky, but we made it work. I would not recommend this property for families with children below the age of 6 or adults over the age of 60 due to the vast number of stairs and poor footing in the river. However, this place is hard to beat if you 7-59 and in good health. We would definitely consider coming back.

Great Thanksgiving Stay

Stayed on the property the week of Thanksgiving. The sounds of the river was quite satisfyingly loud (serving as nature's own white noise machine). Hot tub was clean, internet was good. Property was in great condition. More stairs than I expected, but that's on me for not looking very closely at the photos. Kitchen had a ton of appliances including an apple corer and was stocked well for us to cook a small Thanksgiving dinner. The drive in was "long and windy" and did take about 15 minutes from entering the resort, so keep that in mind when you are planning your outings. Lots of deer and squirrels, no bears. Fireplace was nice, as was the master bathroom. Very cozy overall, defintely recommended.

Amazing Time!

We had an amazing time staying at “Fallen Leaves”. Valerie was very responsive and made sure that we had everything that we needed. The front yard and the river access is wonderful. My boys caught fish, and played in the river everyday. It was so nice to sit outside and listen to the rushing waters. We also enjoyed the fireplace and fire pit. The pool table and other amenities were great as well. Our entire family had a great time and we have recommended this cabin to several of our friends.

Great cabin!

Once again we spent a wonderful weekend at this well appointed cabin. It's the perfect place for a group get together. There's ample space for all to spread out, and also enjoy meal times together. This year the weather wasn't so great but we didn't mind hanging around the cabin.. We keep on coming back every year because it's a perfect fit for our group. I highly recommend this beautiful cabin in this peaceful setting for your next group/family get together.

Great, secluded place on the water!

It is a little bit of a hike to get through the property to the cabin. It was perfect for a family to take some time “off the grid.” The kids were able to tube some in lake that has stairs down to the water and even a little beach area. There are lots of steps to get in and around in the house so it could be hard if you have mobility issues but it was super family friendly and even had baby gates such if that was needed. The property owner was wonderful to work with. She was very attentive to any questions I had. I would definitely recommend this property.

Amazing River Location

Great property! House was clean and very well stocked. Appliances all worked great and the bathrooms were some of the nicest we had in a rental. Yard was perfect for enjoying a little 2 hand touch football and we brought tubes and floated down the river. Kids loved the game room and being able to play in the rapids right in front of the house. I spent most of the weekend in a rocker on the porch reading and listening to the sound of the river. Communication with owners was great and they even recommended local events that were going on in town. We will be back for sure!

Perfect riverside escape.

House is just as advertised, clean and set up for anything you may need. We enjoyed the view of the river and seeing so much wild life throughout the property. Would book again anytime we are back in the area.

Communication was SUPERB!

Valerie was very prompt in responding and I really appreciated that. The property was clean and it is right next to the river so it was relaxing for my 80 yo MIL. Although we didn't catch anything, my kids learned to love fly fishing and spending time with their father. It was a great experience! Don't forget to bring your own fishing gear though!

We loved our stay here! First of all, it was the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed at. It was stocked with everything we could need for cooking, extra blankets, pillows and the kids loved the game room! The owner was very accommodating in answering any questions we had. We saw deer immediately as we turned into the neighborhood. So cool! Beautiful drive up to the cabin. We brought some River tubes with us and my teens loved floating on the river. I can’t comment on the resort amenities like the pool, because we didn’t even go! We spent our time watching movies together, playing pool and games, playing and floating on the water. We did go out one day to Amicalola Falls State Park and hiked to the waterfall which was a lot of steps! We stopped at R & A orchards on the way back and got some delicious peaches to bring home. My husband and son did go out and do some off roading on a trail while my daughter and I stayed behind and relaxed at the cabin. I was little jealous that they saw a mama bear and a cub! I was able to relax on the top deck and read for hours and enjoy the nice weather while they were gone. We would definitely stay again! You don’t even have to leave the cabin! Great relaxing vacation.

My family enjoyed our last minute trip. The easy access to the water was great! My boys spent lots of time climbing and playing on the rocks in the water. Pool table was also a big hit!

Hidden Gems are out there and we found one!!

This place was everything and then some! When looking for a place for our family to stay I wanted a place that allowed me us to rest. Rest we did! Just being able to place a beach chair in the Coosawatee while allowing the water to rush over me was enough but your home had so much more! From the ammenities: pool table, hot tub, gas grill, etc... to the blessing of God's creation: Lightning bugs, deer everywhere, listening to the Cicada's at night, and not to mention sitting the Coosawatee River! (Yes it was worth mentioning a second time.) To sum it up our family was blessed to be able to stay here! Thanks so much!

Beautiful River Cabin! … with a little work

Let’s get the minimal low points out of the way first- there aren’t many of them. Once you pass the CRR gate, you are looking at a 15-20 minute drive full of hairpins, switchbacks and bumpy roller coasters, on a mix of good, medium and poor roads. We booked in a resort this time to avoid that nauseating drive. Also my husband and I think it a bit ungenerous not to provide a guest Prime or Hulu account. Not everyone has smart tvs back home to use their own accounts to log in and our Hulu account does not allow live stream outside our zip code. Video monitoring of outdoor areas by host did not bother us, but it might bother some. Nextdoor and back neighbors are around all the time especially on weekends. Onto the positive - much more to say here. The river is the highlight- wow! Children played in river every day for hours. Rushing water lulls you to sleep and a warm fire inside or out makes things cozy and idyllic. Kitchen has lovely cookware and it is a pleasure to prepare dinner. Very clean. Big kitchen table- yeah! Whole family can gather together for three home cooked meals per day. Lots of good memories made. Soft feather beds and massive showers delightful and inviting after a long day on the river. Game room a great retreat for the kiddos and no noise travels so mom and dad can have some quiet time while the kids play. Lots of fun games and the pool table is a huge hit. All around a wonderful week-long vacation for our family!

This is the only cabin you need to consider ! Valerie is an amazing host and was very responsive to all my questions before we even booked the home. The cabin was just as pictured but even more breathtaking was the river. We are not much into the ‘river life’ but after we arrived we could not get enough . Just hearing the sounds and watching the water flow through the rocks was amazing . We saw deer everywhere on the drive up and also across the river on the other side of the home we saw them during the early morning . The cabin itself was stocked with all the basic spices and even oil and Pam spray :) The bathrooms and showers were all stocked with shampoo/conditioner that my kids said was ‘luxurious’ . The game room was perfect -we did not end up using the sleeper down there because it did get pretty chilly so a few of the kids stayed in the upstairs loft where there was a futon and there was also a spare twin mattress we dragged from the upstairs closet. We drove into downtown Ellijay (which only took about 20 min) for some coffee and pizza and we got to see different parts of the resort . All we can say is Book your vacation now!

The location of the cabin right on the river makes it the perfect property! You can hear the rushing sound of the river from the cabin. When we are there, you will find us relaxing on one of the three porch decks, walking along the private beach area, soaking in the hot tub, swinging on the swing or in the hammock and relaxing area around the firepit area. This is the perfect place to get away!
