Still trying to find the perfect location for your summer get-away? Our 3 bedroom, 3 bath lake home is just the spot for a family reunion, big group of friends or for folks who just like to lounge in a lot of space. It’s on a secluded, private, lakeside lot 2 hours from the Twin Cities.

Like to fish? Little Butternut Lake is a beautiful 185-acre lake in Luck, Wisconsin with good fishing for pan-fish, Large-mouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. We have a private dock, 3 kayaks and a canoe for you to use.

Other Things to Do: If fishing isn’t your thing, how about hiking, biking or enjoying the gorgeous view from the deck above the boat house? St Croix Falls and Taylors Falls are only a few miles away if you want to do a little local exploring. We also provide yard games for friendly competition.


When it’s time to go inside: Your perfect vacation home has a large open living room, generous size dining table, fully equipped kitchen with enough space for more than 1 chef, comfortable beds for 12 people and 3 bathrooms.

*NEW well and septic being installed November 22, 2024. Also, please note the lake is not ideal for swimming right off of the dock. Permit# 2026-2027

Perfect for our group. Large open main living and kitchen area. Nice size dining table along with stools at counter for all to dine together. The size of the table was also very nice for playing board games. Comfortable beds. Deck area quite lovely with the pretty lighting at night time. We were able to view the lunar eclipse! Friendly host who responded in a timely manner to all questions. Thank you Danielle!

Our group had a great stay. Plenty of beds for everyone. Had a small issue that was fixed right away. Lots of extras that was nice in the kitchen.

Absolutely wonderful!

Could not have been more perfect for our family. Everyone had a blast. The lake was great for fishing. The cabin was very equipped with everything we needed. Very private and quiet. Will definitely be back.

We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, the private, quiet location and the space to accommodate 9 adults and 3 children. Check-in was easy, the home was clean and Danielle was responsive to our questions. Kayaking on the lake was peaceful. We appreciated the kayaks and life jackets. We recommend this home.

A great family getaway

nice, active weekend

The grandchildren, ages 14-20, and their parents loved the arcade games. We made use of the area, went to Siren, go-carted and played miniature golf, in St. Croix Falls. Weather was perfect!

Fishing fun

Whether out in the boat or on the dock, kids had fishing fun. We enjoyed the space, well stocked kitchen. relaxing place with room for fun yard games as well.

Perfect accommodations and beautiful property.So much space for our large family to feel comfortable.We all took turns going out on the lake fishing.Enjoyed beautiful sunsets/sunrises off the dock.Great private secluded property for the dogs to roam, run, and roll around with the kids.We didnt have to travel far for anything.Many nearby things to do (thrifting, cafes, drive‐ in, groceries, boating, atv, mini golf, etc).Our host was easy to communicate with and prompt in responses.Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.A

The home and area/lake (winter) was wonderful. Quiet street and loved dog friendly. We had an age range from 6 mo-65. There was enough room for everyone to play/sit/cook and relax. We would love to come back. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home!!

Mini reunion with high school friends

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. It was just as described in the listing and the pictures were accurate. The cabin is beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked and the beds are comfortable. The property is located on a quiet road so it's very peaceful and relaxing. There are no close neighbors and the views are beautiful from both the cabin and the deck. The deck was a great place to relax and to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Our group hopes to return for our next mini reunion!

Our annual 3 generation cabin getaway

We loved the size of this property! There was plenty of room for all of us. Lots of privacy, we couldn't see any neighbors. The fishing was so-so. The water wasn't great for swimming, but fine for floating or hanging out on the lily pad. Lots of yard for playing, lots of tree frogs and little toads were caught and released! Nice deck space for our family talent show!

Family vacation

We had a great annual family vacation at the cabin. Plenty of room for all of us. Well stocked with dishes and pots and pans. Fishing and weather was awesome. We brought a boat and some kayaks but it was nice to have additional ones provided and a canoe. Nice area to play games inside and outside. Nice grocery store within minutes as well as bait shops. Danielle was always quick to respond to any questions I had. We look forward to going back sometime

July Family Vacation

Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the cabin. The accommodations fit our family perfectly. 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms were a plus. A few items that could use some improvement would be more paddles for the kayaks so more than one person can go out on the lake. The living room furniture was very worn out. Many lightbulbs missing throughout the rooms and the kitchen sink hot water was scalding. Golf course was a plus.

Excellent place and location.

We had a ton of fun during our stay. Communication was quick and easy with the owner. Highly recommend the place. The only drawbacks we could come up with was dishwasher wasn't mounted to the countertop so it would tilt down once opened. And lastly the propane tank for the grill ran out and as clearly stated in the check in book, it is the renters responsibility to fill propane. Understandable but unknown until check in. Still glad to have a gas grill provided. We would stay there again!

Beautiful location, very private

The house is exactly as pictured/described in the listing- plenty of room for the 11 of us and a beautiful location. Canoes (and life jackets) were available for our stay, and we had a great time getting out on the water and fishing from the dock. The lake is not great for swimming (too much vegetation), but there's a really lovely public beach/floating dock about 15 min up the road at Balsam Lake that the kids loved. Kitchen was well equipped with the exception of silverware-- we had exactly enough forks/spoons for our crew, but would have been a few short if we had enough people for every bed to be filled. Gas stove/oven is plenty big enough to cook for a large group. Finally, bug spray is a MUST. Not surprising given the location, but the mosquitos were hungry and very plentiful.

Everything expected except no showers

Two things to take note of about this place as of Sept 8th, 2024: 1 - water pressure is horrendous and couldn't take showers. If the dishwasher was going or someone took a shower, you had to wait for an hour or so to take another. So, we just didn't. 2 - make sure to check the propane tank for the grill. it was empty when i go there, spend about $30 at the gas station nearby to fill it, and used it twice. So, you are welcome to whomever is going to be using the propane that I filled up for you. =) Otherwise, the place was clean, plenty of space, and a gorgeous sunset and sunrise in the morning. Thank you!

The water pressure between showers typically should only takes 10 to 15 minutes to get back to normal, at most. so I’m not sure why it was taking over an hour. I wish somebody would’ve called me and I could’ve had somebody run up there to take a look at it. The well and septic are currently being replaced as we speak so the water pressure shouldn’t be an issue going forward. as far as the propane goes prior to this year. We only offered a charcoal grill. People requested propane so we decided to offer both. It clearly states in the listing that there is an option for propane, but you’re responsible for filling. we have a very limited time between renters and do not have time to check or go and fill.

The house was spacious and comfortable. We had plenty of dining space for our entire family; the kids loved sitting on the bar stools at the counter. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, silverware, and miscellaneous utensils. The beds were comfy and plentiful. The kids loved the bunk bed room!We roasted marshmallows over the campfire and there were roasting sticks for each of the kids. The fishing was good off the dock even with all of the lily pads. We caught plenty of fish and even had fish tacos one night!We were awed by the gorgeous sunsets every night. They were absolutely breathtaking! We also loved the fact that there were almost no pesky insects around the dock or patio areas. Given all the trees, we expected the worst but were pleasantly surprised. The location was also perfectly private which was a real plus as far as we were concerned.The kayaks were used a lot and it was nice to have a slightly smaller one for my 9 year old great-granddaughter. There were plenty of life vests in multiple sizes. The lily pad was a blast! We rented a boat and took the lily pad out on the lake. SO much fun!! The reason for the 4 star rating and not 5 star was the water issues. Due to large amounts of iron in the water, the filters were clogging up pretty quickly. However, I was in contact with Danielle and she is working quickly to fix it.My entire family absolutely loved this place and are returning next year.

Thank you for the review and your patience with the water issue. After finally fixing the water pressure issue we had no idea we would now be dealing with iron in the water. So again, thank you for understanding. Luckily Culligan through right after your stay and installed a fancy water filtration system. Thank goodness! Going forward, there should be no water issues:)

We absolutely love the lake view from the cabin. The sunsets are breathtakingly beautiful. The lake is pretty quiet and my husband and grandsons love the fishing. There are 5 bedrooms plus a loft area for sleeping so our family had plenty of room. The kitchen/dining area is roomy enough to seat all 12 of us; the kids actually preferred eating on the stools at the island. The washer and dryer were definitely a plus since we were there for 10 days. We did smores at the campfire several times and spent a lot of time on the patio and deck; luckily the bugs were not a problem! Only a couple of negatives: the dishwasher and water dispenser on the frig were not hooked up but we made do. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and eating. We loved it so much we are already booked for next year and looking forward to returning!

This cabin is Amazing! This is the second time we have rented. Perfect place for our family. Lake quiet, great fishing and tubing for the kiddos. Sunsets Beautiful. Cabin clean, has everything you need for your stay. Fire pit and tons of lawn chairs. Already planning to return next summer

Family Christmas gathering

The property was exactly as the listing showed. Plenty of rooms & beds for everyone to have their own space. The Christmas tree was beautiful! Kitchen was well stocked with everything needed. On site laundry was a plus! Can’t wait to visit in the summer to be able to see the amazing view from the deck!

Great Home on a Beautiful Lake

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The large table was perfect for board games and eating meals together. Beds were comfortable and the patio overlooking the lake was gorgeous! The only thing to note was that the water pressure fluctuated throughout the day and was very low at times (even without any faucets running). Outside of that, everything was great. We will likely be coming back at some point in the future!
