Private and quiet mountain getaway.

Beautiful 2018 one story 2BR/2BA cabin on 2 1/2 acres with a nice view. Completely furnished. Central heat and air, fireplace, granite counter tops with stainless steel appliances, gas grill, outdoor fire pit, internet, and Direct HDTV. The driveway is wide and there is room for a small trailer if you are up here for the Rally in the Valley or Thunder in the Smokies or if you want to enjoy some of the best ATV riding areas around.

As far as location goes you can't do any better than this. Only 1/2 mile of good gravel road takes you right to Highway 19 with close access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Cherokee Indian Reservation. From there it's your choice - 4 miles to Maggie Valley; 4 miles to Water Rock Knob (highest point around with views of all the high mountain peaks; 4 miles to Black Camp Gap - where you will always see lots of Elk; 12 miles to Harrah's Casino; 15 miles to the Smoky Mountain National Park or 25 miles to Bryson City and the Great Smoky Mountain Railway.

Four-wheel drive or AWD is recommended to access the area from mid to late November and throughout winter months when there is snow or ice on the roads. The gravel road to the cabin is privately maintained and is a one lane road with pull-outs to allow oncoming traffic to pass. It is recommended to drive cautiously on the gravel road to the cabin.

This cabin was clean, comfortable and very well appointed. The hosts, Mike and Greg, could not have been more kind. They even let us know the day of our arrival that they were having high winds and the power was out. Greg even came by to check on us to be sure the power was back on and we had all we needed. We enjoyed the deck and quietness of the neighborhood. Everything was so welcoming. We will definitely be back! Lovely cabin!!

Nice view, quiet and well maintained. Cabin is tucked away and cozy place to relax. Kitchen was well stocked with appliances and accessories to prepare meals. Location was great for visits to Maggie Valley and Cherokee.

Great place but I couldn’t find the dumpster to take the garbage out (guests are required to take the trash with them instead of leaving it for the cleaning crew). The description of where the dumpster is lead me to an empty space.

We can’t say enough good things about Mountain Time! This is our third time staying here, and I believe it gets better each time!The cabin is impeccably clean! Kudos to housekeeper Angie! Be sure to leave her a nice tip when you stay. We sincerely appreciated the “little things”, such as paper towels, coffee pods, laundry supplies, Q-tips, tissues, and a little bowl of snacks! And of course the kitchen is well stocked. The decor is gorgeous, the setting is peaceful, and the whole vibe is just perfection. Mike is the ultimate host! Perfect communication. I’m sad to leave this morning, but hopeful that we’ll be back next year for a longer stay!

Beautiful cabin with amazing views. Everything was extremely clean, very comfortable and great amenities. After the first time of using the driveway, you get the hang of it. Close distance to Cherokee, Maggie Valley, and the Blue ridge parkway. Definitely recommend!

We rent this beautiful cabin every year. It is conveniently located to several small towns and only minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is a nice deck with a beautiful view. The grill and kitchen are both supplied with everything you need to make wonderful meals if you decide to cook at home. Mike is easy to reach and he makes the check-in and check-out process very easy. He responds quickly if you have any questions. I highly recommend visiting this cabin!

Great comfortable cabin, new feeling, very clean, quiet and private. The host was wonderful, location is close to much. The down points are #1 the road , it’s mostly dirt not gravel, rained a lot so it’s a real mess. The master bed mattress is like sleeping on the floor if you don’t have a young back.I would still give the overall experience a 4 out of 5 stars.

We stay at Mountain Time at least once a year. We always have a wonderful time at this beautiful and spotless cabin. We love the location, because it is quick and easy to get to the Blue Ridge Parkway, downtown Maggie Valley, Cherokee, Waynesville, Bryson City, and Asheville. There are plenty of nice restaurants in the area thanks to this central location. The kitchen is also stocked with the appliances, pots & pans, and dishes you need to cook a beautiful meal at home. There is a clean grill on the deck. The view from the deck is beautiful and relaxing. We enjoy using the fire pit on cool evenings. Mike thinks of everything and pays attention to small details like supplying small flashlights near the bed and night lights in the bathrooms. I highly recommend renting this cabin for a beautiful Smoky Mountain vacation!

This cabin was perfect! It had everything you need and lots of small extra “personal” touches (kleenex, binoculars, etc). The cabin was very clean, the appliances looked brand new, the bathrooms were spotless…The view was great and the deck was nice (totally enclosed which is nice if you have small kiddos). We didn’t have time to use the firepit or grill but would love to next time! The driveway was a bit challenging but not too bad. Such a cozy cabin…we would choose this cabin every time!!

This cabin is owned by two brothers, Mike and John Jordan, who grew up in Florida but spent every summer roaming the hills and playing in the creeks of North Carolina. Mike had a career in the Navy and John is a retired law enforcement officer. This cabin is their retirement joint venture and they have enjoyed building it and outfitting it so others can enjoy it as a cozy retreat. John spends his summers in a house nearby the cabin and actively manages the cabin during the summer months. He is a short ATV ride away to meet the needs of our renters. We hope those that stay in our cabin will kick back and enjoy the slower pace of staying in a remote area or as we like to call it "living on mountain time".
