—- Availability usually posts by February for the summer season—-Panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Great South Bay from sunrise to sunset. This home is directly connected to the boardwalk for easy beach access along with multiple decks. Includes 4 bedrooms and 1.5 baths plus outdoor shower, grill and washer & dryer. 15 minute walk into Ocean Beach for restaurants and shopping. 10 minute walk from Atlantique marina for boat slips, sport courts, bay beach, playground, and The Shack! Ferry service to/from Bay Shore to either Ocean Beach or Atlantique. Huge beach right out the window, away from the crowds to enjoy the summer on this beautiful island!

Great location by the beach in a quiet area of the island. House has everything needed for a vacation and Michelle was a wonderful host. Responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

It was paradise! The home is situated a few sandy steps from the ocean with spectacular views from inside and from the spacious deck, including passing whales, dolphins, and tiny fawns. Robins Rest is a tiny isolated community distanced from the bustle of Ocean Beach. Never were there more than 3-4 families enjoying the beachfront. The home is wonderful. It has a spacious living area and the perfect set-ups for outdoor meals and morning coffee. Michelle was a perfect and pleasant host, answering our many questions and offering assistance. The only drawback to our experience was that the door and window screens were damaged. This meant closing windows and doors, running air conditioners, and missing out on the ocean breezes and sounds. Also, it would be great if the home was equipped with a beach umbrella (there's plenty of beach chairs) and some beach playthings.

A beautiful getaway!

This beach house was exactly as described - beautful and right on the beach! The extensive deck that wraps around three sides of the house facing the ocean was amazing - we ate every meal on the deck, and spent many afternoons out there listening to the waves and enjoying the beautiful summer days. This beach hosue is exactly what you want on Fire Island - easy and laid back. Michelle was a wonderful host! I highly recommend this property, and would definitely stay here again!

On the beach

We really enjoyed our stay! The house is right on the beach and had everything we needed: beach towels, beach chairs, umbrella, cornhole, well-stocked kitchen and a fantastic deck. The host loaned their wagon to us which made all the difference in getting our luggage to the house and back to the ferry. Thank you!

A wonderful beach vacation

My family loved our beach vacation. Michele's house had everything we needed. She's a very concerned owner and was easy to communicate with. The house location was perfect for us. Great Spot To Get Away

This is a special property. It is really a gem being right off the beach. We loved the privacy, but it is a treck to get in and out to visit other parts of fire island. A lot of chores were requested on check out even though we paid for a cleaning fee. It was a little stressful to get through them all with it being extremely rainy outside. The host was extremely accommodating and communicative though. Would come back!

Great Outdoor Spaces

This property is beautifully situated steps from the ocean, with a great wrap-around deck for maximizing outdoor living. The host was extremely responsive and helpful. Just read the listing carefully before you book so you understand there is a bit of a hike from the ferry (the price to pay for privacy!) and note that the check-out process does require you to launder all used sheets and towels. That was a new one for me, and did take a fair amount of planning, given the single small machine. Also note the dishwasher and bbq were not usable on our visit but the host indicated those would be repaired. If you have any questions though Michelle will get back to you right away. I only wish our weather was better for the first half of our trip but we still had a great time.

We feel terrible about the grill and dishwasher during your stay. These have now been repaired and we will do our absolute best to avoid this in the future. Being a small island with limited services is sometimes a challenge. Unfortunately this island does not have laundry services and it is why we ask each guest to wash what they use. Hopefully your next visit will be issue free and full of sunshine!

Relaxing Stay isolated from noise

We had a really nice stay(don't skip by because of this first paragraph! It was a great stay, read all of review) and really the only thing I would recommend to add to the listing is the realistic walk from the Ocean Beach Ferry to the house and the difficulty level when taking your items so people can plan properly. The entire walk is about a mile. 95% of it is through ocean beach on the boardwalk until it ends. Then, you walk the rest of the trip on sand. Deep sand, not flat sand like you have at the water edge. It is a good min of 10 mins. We were lucky and had no rain but it was hot. Was it worth it? 1000000% YES!! because once you do get to the house, it is so relaxing and wonderful. Just know what you have to do to get there.The house itself is great, updated, and air conditioning worked well in all of the house. It never felt sticy or humid. Which almost never is the case at a beach house . Amazing views. Quiet beach. But if you walk on the beach 10 mins either direction, you are in lifeguarded ocean. Still never felt crowded and very well monitored. Michelle was very good at communication, answered quickly and had lots of suggestions for what to do in the other towns near by. The point of this location is relaxation. And it really was a realxing trip!

All perfect but it is a haul getting there and getting food there (expensive). Probably why it is so perfect - We just lived it

Robbin's Resr beach house

We enjoyed our stay immensely. Nice location, great house. Michelle was very helpful. Just know that Robbin's Rest section is not connected to the paved pathway so there is some walk in the sand to get to the neighborhood. But you can find folks to ATV older people over. Great time had by all.

Peace and quiet on the beach!

As noted in a number of reviews, the property is some distance from the ferry with the last 5-10' walking through some serious sand. The police station will give you a ride up to the sand but after that older adults or young children will have to walk. If you arrive late and there's no one at the police station, hang out as they will return shortly (we didn't get that memo!). Since the property does not have wagons at the ferry pier, you can "borrow" any that are unlocked and then return it later (this was good advice from someone at the dock). It would have been a bigger struggle without that tip and the very helpful neighbor who let us use their wagon (thank you kind sir). The journey done, this is a perfectly located property away from the bustle of Ocean Beach and literally right on the sand. Outstanding features include the outdoor grill (not clearly mentioned) and the outdoor shower. Bedrooms are as advertised with mattresses that are "ok", but not great in some rooms. The decks, seating and beach games are fantastic and made our visit really enjoyable (hours of corn hole). Be aware that we had to wash sheets and towels before we checked out, making catching our ferry tricky. The owner was flexible on this point but please plan accordingly. Great visit and beautiful peaceful beach time will be you reward if you brave the trek!

Our Wonderful Fire Island Adventure

This our third visit to Fire Island and our first time staying at Michelle and Steve’s place in Robbins Rest. We had such an amazing time!! I almost don’t want others to know what a fabulous place this is just to be able to keep it a secret. 😊 Our children (8, 6, and almost 3) loved seeing all the wildlife—dolphins, whales, ospreys and deer. We were able to have friends come meet us for a few days of our week long stay, and everyone agreed that the view was just perfect. Thank you to Michelle and Steve for everything! We hope to come back and visit again soon!

Best house

This was our first fire island rental and we couldn't have been happier! The house was well maintained with plenty of room for our family. The house had beautiful ocean views from the deck. Plenty of sand toys, games and entertainment. The owner was easy to get ahold of and very responsive to all my many questions. It was a long walk from the ferry but definitely worth it! The beach was so close to the house we could even let one of the kids run back to the house if they needed something. The beach by the house was practically a private beach compared to the ocean beach crowd. We would definitely love to stay here again!

Peace & Quiet with Ocean & Bay Views

This property was great - an adorably decorated clean beach house with updated bathrooms and views of the Ocean and Bay. The easy to connect to speaker bar in the living room & WiFi had us playing our own music playlists in no time. The decks are nice and there’s even a small private deck off what I would call the first floor master. The beach was huge and pristine, and in the distance you could see crowded beaches near the more populated paved/decked walks where as at Solicito it was wide open and felt private. The quiet location and privacy does come with a long walk to the Robbins Rest house with the last third through thick beach sand. If renting with grandparents or someone who might not be able to make the trek - I suggest stopping immediately after stepping off the ferry to the police station to borrow their courtesy golf club car. You are to leave your license while you transport your family member and/or other goods too heavy to carry, then return the cart and then walk back to the house. If Solicito had a beach golf club car it would have been a little easier... & I need to also mention I don’t know the rules there, if it’s difficult to get permits, charge the vehicle & the cost of the vehicle itself. Overall this beach house is great for active families with teens and kids that like to relax, surf, boogie board and more.

Beautiful location and beach. Cute island.

This is a beautiful vacation spot! The house is in a great location on a beautiful, quiet beach. It is a bit of a walk through the sand to get to the house, but the owners generously lend their wagon to help transport your things. The owners are very generous, helpful, and responsive. The center of Ocean Beach is very cute and quaint. There are no cars - just foot and bike traffic. Highly recommend if you are looking for something a little different and a peaceful, relaxing vacation spot.
