I appreciate your review. I think we already spoke that the normal lawn guy did happen to be on vacation for his wedding, and that week we used a temp service to cut the grass. There is no way I could know whether they were going to cut or bag the lawn clippings. Additionally, the garbage company not following through and removing the garbage is something that is out of my hands as well. I called them multiple times, I explained that by not picking up the garbage that was in the can by the road they were making it tough on me as a cabin renter. Their reply was that they are short handed. While that is no excuse and that seems to just be the state of the world right now. I could yell at them and give them a low review or I could give them some patience and grace. I pay for their service just like you pay for yours. I have expectations that I like to have met but I also try to be understanding that those who are working in this strange time are doing the best they can. That is tough feedback to get publicly because we spoke privately about it and it was beyond our control. If there was a different outcome you had hoped for I wish you would have said it during one of our many conversations. Both bathrooms were just redone this year in May. Completely renovated top to bottom. Originally before you booked the site may have stated 2 full bathrooms but I know that the website has been updated because I updated it myself. I know there was another couple who did bring that to our attention and we credited them with two nights free for their inconvenience. I wished you would have mentioned it to me as well. Ultimately, our goal is not to take your money, but rather to provide you a great experience. I am sorry your expectations were not met. That is something we try to do for everyone who stays. No one has ever mentioned that they have had to jump from the steps to the pier, but I am thankful you were so nimble. I will have to look for a more satisfying solution in case you choose to return again. If you do choose to return, you have my contact info from all of the conversations we had both leading up to your trip and during it. I am sure we can offer a financial benefit for the inconveniences you faced while you vacationed with us. Lastly, I would like reply to your criticism of ok for a short trip but not a long one. This year we had a group stay for 31 days and they had a great time. We also had another group for an additional 2 weeks who enjoyed themselves. I could tell when you emailed me to complain about the grass, the garbage and the weather I should have expected a less than stellar review. That being said behind every negative comment there is a hard working person who tried their best to help you have a great time, I hope in the future you provide them with a little bit of grace along the way.
