Mariner House is located thirty miles off the coast of Cape Cod on the beautiful island of Nantucket. In the heart of the quaint historic downtown quarter you can immerse yourself in a bit of whaling history. In 1846 Master Mariner and Whaling Captain William Jernegan built the Mariner house as a private residence. It has since been renovated into six tastefully decorated apartments, operating year round. Mariner House is within walking distance to the worn cobblestones of Main Street, to casual and gourmet dining, beautiful beaches, boats, boutiques, galleries, historic landmarks and museums.

Perfect location in town

Kitchen has everything you’ll need- dishware, cookware, utensils, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker. Comfortable bed. Great water pressure. Cozy living room with fireplace. Very clean. Convenient 1-5 minute walk to anywhere in town. Would stay here again for sure.

Birthday Trip

Defiance at The Mariner House was just perfect. I don’t think the online listing does it justice. It was spacious, inviting and warm. We felt like we had a little home waiting for us in the middle of town each day.

GREAT Experience!

This was one of the best vacation rentals we have ever had. The Defender House was perfect and everything we were expecting it to be and EVEN MORE. We were located in the center or Nantucket downtown within walking distance to most attractions. We can't say enough about the rental and the town. Ron

We had a perfect stay at Mariner House! The property is steps from incredible restaurants, shops, and scenic walks. It has everything you need for a wonderful stay on Nantucket, and I would gladly return again and again.

Great spot to explore town

Very nice accommodations, located just two blocks from cobblestoned Main St.. Good selection of cooking ware, enough to boil a lobster if you are so inclined. Bedroom and bath, very comfortable. Our two day stay in September was very nice. Many great restaurants within walking distance.

Lovely Weekend at Quaint and Centrally Located Apartment

Wonderfully central location. Quaintly decorated. We had a great time. Not a problem for us, but there is no air conditioning, so if that is important to you, this spot is not an option. We would definitely be happy to stay there again.
