Whether you want to drop in on your favorite shop on Highlands famous main street or drop your favorite lure into Mirror Lake, Mirror Lake Place is the perfect vacation home for your visit to Highlands! Located exactly one mile past the Post Office on the Franklin Road and situated directly on the deep end of Mirror Lake, Mirror Lake Place offers something for everyone. Formerly known as the Mirror Lake Inn and suites, our newly renovated three bedroom and four bathroom home comes complete with new queen beds in each bedroom, views of Mirror Lake from each bedroom, a private balcony over looking Mirror Lake from the master bedroom, flat screen TVs in each bedroom and den with cable, Central heat and air, wood burning fireplace, Wifi network, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer, grill and parking for 4 cars. You can hear the water of Mirror Lake as it cascades over the dam from our deck and all of our bedrooms. You will not find a more convenient and picturesque setting to enjoy your visit to Highlands.

Had a girls bday celebration trip and really enjoyed our stay. The big living and dining room were perfect gathering spaces to accommodate us all together. Fireplace was nice to use on the chilly nights. Enjoyed the deck and beautiful views as well. Overall the house was nice and clean except for the air vent in one of the rooms was covered in dust. All in all had a great visit.

Communication with host was perfect! I contacted Garrard the day of check in so see if we were able to check in a little earlier, and he responded quickly, allowing us early access ( we ended up checking in very close to original check in time, but appreciated the willingness). The property was beautiful and about 5 min from downtown and Old Edward Inn. The only little issues we had were figuring out the smart TVs WiFi situation and heat. We did not contact the host about it, but I’m sure it would’ve been a simple quick fix. Loved all the fern decor!

The property is in a great location with a wonderful deck on a peaceful inlet to mirror lake. The kitchen was well appointed making it easy to cook your own meals. The interior is dated but has a lot of seating for family gatherings. My only reason for not giving this property 5 stars is the condition of the furniture. It is very dated- sofa and chairs in the living room are lumpy/uncomfortable and the upstairs mattress sinks to the center.Side note- there are a lot of stairs in this home with everything on different levels so I would not recommend for anyone with mobility issues.

Easy check in, very well stocked kitchen, comfortable living room and dining room areas, nice fireplace, Back deck was a good size with comfortable chairs, The house was very convenient to The Highlands and Dry Falls.Very easy level parking and space for 3 cars. Host was very quick to answer questions. It was only 3 toilets not 4 as advertised, The bathrooms were all set up very weird. The back screen door did not close and there was only a dead bolt on the front door. The are a lot of steps which we didn’t expect The “lake “ is more like a non moving river which was a little disappointing but all in all was a nice place to stay.

Respite on Mirror Lake

This is a lovely and well-appointed house. The bedrooms are very roomy and the living areas spacious. Unfortunately, Mirror Lake had just been dredged and was not as clear as in prior visits to the area. Nevertheless, it was a beautiful setting and the whole family enjoyed excursions on the pedal boat and nearby hikes. The older folks also took many beautiful walks in the neighborhood. We were thrilled to find the mountain laurel and dogwood in full bloom and the rhododendron bloom just starting. Homes and businesses in the area featured beautiful blooming flowers. The house is split level so might not be suitable for anyone who has trouble with stairs. This was not an issue for our group. We can wholeheartedly recommend this rental.

Perfect Thanksgiving Getaway!

Our stay was amazing from beginning to the very end! Our host was absolutely amazing and extremely communicative. He responded to every message extremely promptly, and if I had any questions, he was very quick to provide me with answers. not only was he accommodating to our specific needs, he was very flexible with our check-in and check out process. The house itself had everything we needed and much more. We were surprised with how large and spacious it was, and the extra little nooks and cozy corners tucked away in unexpected spaces added the extra charm that we found delightful. The lake off the back patio made for a very peaceful setting, and the fireplace was the perfect beginning and ending to our cold days. This was a trip that we prioritized relaxation, and we spent most of our time in the house, talking and hanging out with our family. However, we did get out and explore the town and even went into the city of cashiers and went horseback riding one day. That was a magical Experience in itself. We cannot speak highly enough of our host, our accommodations, and how much this trip meant to our family. We would highly recommend this property and this host to anyone needing a quick staycation or a longer family reunion!

Weekend Family Trip

The house was great for our family. We loved that we each had a private bedroom and bathroom. The house was very clean and comfortable, the kitchen was well appointed. We were there in the fall so we didn't really enjoy the outdoor area but enjoyed the home very much.

Beautiful mountain property

Great location and great home. My entire family loved it and there’s tons of space to enjoy. The view of the lake, trees, and mountains are gorgeous. Highly recommend.

We were in town for a wedding and this house had everything that we were hoping for... the property owner also was extremely communicative and helpful with our situation and it is a perfect location and house for multiple people and has everything that you would need!

Beautiful location near downtown Highlands

Property is clean with plenty of living space and terrific deck. Tranquil location on lake while just moments to town. Great fun using the pedal-boat. Layout has many stairsteps, not suitable for mobility-impaired. Kitchen is small and dated but entirely functional. Easy to work with property manager, smooth check-in/out.

Family weekend trip to enjoy the cooler temps of summer

Checking in and out was a breeze! We were able to fish and enjoy the deck! We ended up buying dinner from mountain fresh grocery and cooking both nights. Everything was fully stocked. We enjoyed the mountain getaway!

Lovely spot

The house needs some updating but worked great for three adult couples because of the ensuite bathrooms in each room. The patio is quite buggy due to the proximity to the pond, so I highly recommend bug spray if you want to spend time outside.

Fantastic stay!

We loved our time here and the house. We’ve stayed in many Highlands houses and this was one of our favorites. Our college kids loved be able to step into their kayaks they brought and had fun on the provided pedal boat. Everything we could have thought of was taken care of. Also, the easiest check out we’ve ever had at a rental. We cannot wait to go back.

Oasis in mountains.

Beautiful and tranquil location. It was very clean but could use some updating. The mattress we slept on was extremely comfortable so that was a huge plus. Check in was super easy. Overall it was the perfect place and we would definitely stay here again.

Great Host and Property

The house was perfect for our family, very roomy and comfortable and less than 5 minutes drive to main street. Had some issues during check-in with access between the guest house and the main house, but this was resolved quickly by the host and he was very understanding. We would definitely stay again in the future.

Beautiful Lake House

House was clean and everything worked as expected. Has a wonderful view of the lake and is very close to town and waterfalls. The house is nicely decorated with antiques, plates, etc. which is nice, but we had to stay vigilant with our two little ones to keep their hands off. I would definitely recommend this house to friends.

Incredible location and great house!

My wife and I took our 2 kids up to Highlands to see the leaves and explore the town. This house is the PERFECT location. It’s about a 3 minute drive to the middle of downtown and also sits right on mirror lake. You can walk out the back door and fish! The house is very spacious with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We can’t wait to book the property again!
