This charming and expansive country estate worked very well for our family reunion of 36 people ranging in age from teens to mature adults. We had plenty of rooms and gathering spaces for us to meet together in a large group and in smaller groups in quiet areas. The estate was secluded, quiet and in the country. We had room to eat meals all together as well as space and equipment to play games and swim, all together or in small groups. In an old, historic property such as this, some of the flooring may prove challenging for guests with mobility issues due to the cobblestones, old stairs, and raised or irregular entries. The more modern properties were a better fit for those guests. The hosts were accommodating about answering questions with requests for details in preparation. We did our own cooking. There were good options close by for shopping in person or online for food and drink. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, flatware, and tools. Some sharper knives would be helpful, but we had all we needed to create and serve large meals for our group.We visited in July and there was an extreme heatwave for the beginning of our trip. Having our own electric fans helped a lot. Once the heatwave was over, it was very pleasant inside and out. Towels and bedding were clean and sufficient. Check in and check out went smoothly. We would recommend this venue to others.
