The beach at this rental is very nice. It is shallow a long way out and we snorkeled right from the beach. We kayaked out to see the rays and sharks. It was an easy trip. There are some things to be aware of when renting. There are no wash cloths, laundry detergent, stopper for the kitchen sink or dishpan. The chairs in the living room and the beds are low to the ground. For someone with knee or back problems this may be a problem. There are no life jackets to use. We had a hard time finding the place. We ended up walking to find the entrance. The house is surrounded on 3 sides by other houses and the entrance is the walkway in the pictures. GPS said we were there, but you couldn't enter the house. Persistence worked for us. The 3 bedrooms have room air conditioners. The rest of the house is not air conditioned and we couldn't get a cross breeze. It took a long time for the house to cool down using the room air conditioners. The bathrooms and main living area have openings to the outside so the air conditioners can't really cool the other areas.

The cottage was conveniently located to the beach and having kayaks at our disposal was a huge benefit. The beds were also very comfortable. The directions provided weren’t clear, beds were only provided with sheets. We’re used to blankets in addition to sheets. The dishes weren’t clean and the water heater wasn’t on. The furniture was also uncomfortable.

Ia ora na Heather Thank you for your review. We provide our guests with directions with photos showing how to get to the house, as there are no street names or unit numbers. Obviously it didn't work for you. We'll try and see how we can improve that. As for the water heater, we told you which button to press to get the water power heated. We did not know that you needed blankets. As it is warm season, we don't usually provide them , unless asked for. Dishes have to be left clean by every guest, and even though we try to check in between stays, finding dishes not clean enough may happen.we're sincerely sorry about that. The location of the cottage is excellent, very near the beach and protected lagoons. Use of the kayaks was also fantastic. The space was perfect for our group of 3 adults and 2 children. It was tricky to locate initially, even with directions. It could have been cleaner; it seemed to us that the sheets on one bed had not been washed.

Beach holiday

Lovely house perfectly positioned for quick easy beach, swimming and kayaking access. Kayaks available at the house and hire kayaks a few houses down. Right where you can swim with sharks and rays! We booked for two nights but regretted we didn’t spend more time there. Thankyou. Highly recommend

Lovely tropical paradise

Such a great location.... A short walk to a great beach with beautiful snorkeling. The hotel next door rents out little boats and is lovely. The house is a basic beach house with lots of space to spread out. The roosters are loud, neighbors close, ants, bugs, and lizards are your roommates...... All that being said, it was a great price on a beautiful beach and we would definitely stay there again.

Location, location, location!

This property is in an excellent location and a safe secure community. Seconds to the most beautiful beach and amenities and in a gated community. Unfortunately the air conditioning units were not working in 2 of the bedrooms due to the remote controls not functioning. A few small additions that could make this place better would be hand towels, beach towels and beach chairs, scissors, a toaster, an electrical outlet in one of the bathrooms and a plug/stopper for the kitchen sink! Good value. Helpful responsive host

Wonderful!

Great location and lots of space for our family of 4. Easy walk to the beach and a quick paddle to swim with the sharks and rays. We also paddled out to the two islands and snorkeled in between them. The kitchenette was a bit small but it was great to have a grill and outdoor dining area. Bring your own beach towels...there weren't any there and we didn't know that we should bring our own. There were also a few things broken (the light above the sink and counter, the can opener, and showerhead in one of the showers) but overall we loved it here!

Perfect bungalow on an amazingly beautiful beach

We were two couples traveling together and this bungalow met our needs perfectly. It's easily large enough for 6 people. The bedrooms were comfortable and air conditioned. The kitchen was well supplied for the meals we prepared there, and appliances worked perfectly. Lots of dishware, glasses and utensils. We loved using the kayaks which were included in the rental, and also being able to wash laundry was so helpful. There is an outdoor shower to wash off after the beach. There were mosquitoes in the early evening/early morning so bring some coils. Although other bungalows are nearby, there are gardens and it was quiet. The beach is so beautiful and calm. We spent a lot of time there just swimming and snorkeling. You could rent boats there too, but we didn't need to with the kayaks. The motus (islands) are easily paddled to, as well as the shark and ray area. There is a well stocked store very nearby. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Moorea. Most underrated property

My family rented this wonderful beach home for 9 nights. The house is underrated, and exceeded my expectations. Maia was prompt in her replies. Best feature: location - 3 houses from the water and a 40 second walk to the beach. Back yard has expansive view of open, grassy field with a distant ocean view, a beautiful landscapes sitting area, outdoor shower, BBQ grill, and double plus single kayak. The house itself has a very open floor plan and it’s many windows keep it bright. All 3 bedrooms have large sliding glass doors to outside decks. Additionally, the two smaller bedrooms each have an extra window, making them feel much bigger. When the master bedroom door is fully opened, you can see the distant ocean view from the bed. Kitchen is small but efficient with a large stainless steel refrigerator, microwave, rice cooker, coffee maker, and hot pot. Water is safe to drink. There is no ice maker but ice cube trays were supplied. A previous review said a/c units in the bedroom were not strong enough. On the contrary, they were plenty powerful yet quiet too so no need to worry. There are extras like 3 life jackets (2 adult and 1 child sizes), tennis rackets/balls for the tennis court available to guests. Cons: slower wifi than what we were used to at home. As other reviews have noted, you’ll need to bring beach towels. There are plenty of kitchen towels. A starter supply of toilet paper and paper towel is provided but will need to buy extra for the duration of your stay. You’ll also need to bring your own toiletries. The beach is one of the best on the island and has crystal clear, warm water that is waist high 50 yards out. Make sure to bring reef shoes. When facing the ocean, there is a shallow spot to the right just north of a deeper canal for boats. It is marked by 2 empty water bottles spread apart and weighed down that act as buoys. That shallow spot is where all of the rays and sharks hang out. Another cool feature of this beach is that it situated near the only major motus (islets) in Moorea. In summary, this is a simple home so don’t expect anything 5-star. But it is very clean and very comfortable (I’m super picky about cleanliness too). If you’re on the fence, do not hesitate. It has special and unique touches not obvious from photos or owner description. It has a charming ambiance you will fall in love with. Thank you Maia for sharing your special home with us. This was truly a slice of heaven for our family.

Bungalow très bien situé à 50m du lagon dans résidence du sun beach. Le plus la mise à disposition des canoës pour se rendre sur les motus pour admirer poissons, raies, tortues et requins. Le seul bemol, c'est l'attente entre l'arrivée sur site et la mise à disposition du bungalow, pas de services de bagagerie.

Sehr laute Nachbarschaft

Gated Community, das Haus steht nicht allein, sondern ist eine Doppelhaushälfte. Das nächste Haus steht bereits im Abstand von einem Meter. Die gesamte Siedlung besteht aus ca. 70-80 Häusern. Was gut war: 3 schöne Schlafzimmer mit guten Bädern, großes Wohnzimmer gemütlich eingerichtet, große Terrasse, 2 Kajaks, nicht weit vom Strand (40-60m), mit den Kajaks ist man in 10 Minuten bei der Futterstelle für Rochen und Riffhaie. Was nicht gut war: Die Küche / Kücheneinrichtung ist schon etwas runtergekommen, keine Seife, kein Shampoo, eine (!) Toilettenpapierrolle, der Minigarten vor der Terrasse wird von anderen Leuten als Abkürzungsweg benutzt (keine Sperre vorhanden), die Nachbarschaft (andere Doppelhaushälfte) war jeden Tag und Abend (wir haben 3 Nächte übernachtet) extrem laut und rücksichtslos und auch auf unsere Bitte wurde es nicht leiser (Terrassen nur getrennt durch dünne Bretter), die Häuser stehen extrem dicht nebeneinander, die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin war katastrophal (nach einer Standardnachricht zum check in gab es auf unsere Fragen entweder gar keine Antwort oder sie kam erst nach mehreren Tagen und wurde dann auch nicht mehr von uns benötigt), defektes Barbecue

Great Location

Ashort walk to the beach and a short paddle to see the sharks and stingray made this location perfect. We also loved how close this was to Coco Beach, a resteraunt that should not be missed. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing stay; perfect location

This property is wonderful. 3 well set up bedrooms with AC and a kitchen/living that has everything you need. Awesome porch and a 30 second walk to the beach. The two kayaks on the property that you can use are perfect, make for excellent adventures! The beach is perfect and the snorkeling right off the beach is PRIME. There is a manta ray and baby shark feeding area in the lagoon a very short kayak paddle away (close enough you could swim if you wanted to). The property is very well located with shops, restaurants, and a well stocked grocery store about a 10 min walk away. I’d recommend renting a scooter or car to be able to explore the island and do hikes, etc. This place would be perfect for families or small groups of friends. We were very happy with our stay and would love to co e back some day!

Good value for the cost

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The house was clean, comfortable and well located, just a few steps from a nearly private beach, in a nice part of the island (not that there's a bad part of that island). We enjoyed the two kayaks made available to us by the owner. We also enjoyed the nearby tennis court. There's a small convenience store and a few restaurants nearby. There's also a scuba center and boat-rental shop a few minutes away by car. The AC was working well and allowed us to keep the house cool when we wanted it. The property manager was helpful and always reachable. The property is not luxurious, though, and is somewhat humbly equipped, and the adjacent houses are fairly close (though privacy was never an issue). However, overall, we found it to be an excellent value in relation to how much the owner was charging (and compared to how costly Moorea resorts can be). The only small blemish in our experience was an annoying rooster which had made his nest in a tree just above the house and would start calling very early each morning. (Earplugs took care of that issue.) We would happily rent this property again and would recommend it to others.
