Flighted Desire - Oceanfront, partial dividends to local organizations

Flighted Desire is not only a place to relish in the raw beauty of the ocean and to make lifelong memories with family and friends, but your time at this Air BnB gives back to the community too! A portion of the proceeds is given to a local bird rescue group, Skywatch Bird Rescue, located North of Carolina Beach in Castle Hayne. Volunteers, to include your host, take injured birds to facility to be rehabilitated and released back to the wild. Donations are also given to the Make A Wish Foundation.

Flighted Desire was indeed desirable. From the warm welcome from our host, along with clear details about the property, as well as extra amenities for us to use, the overall stay was quite enjoyable. Highly recommend this property, location and working with Emily, who makes this a 5 star property.

The place was awesome, great ocean views from the deck as well as upper balcony’s and bedrooms. Everything was as said and better. The house was very clean and well equipped . I can’t say enough about Emily Romeu, our host. The communications were topnotch. She let us know about places around us as well as food and activity’s. She checked us several times. I highly recommend staying anywhere she is the host.

Host thought of everything you could possibly need! From beach items to a stocked kitchen and laundry. Host was also quick to respond to questions. Checkout list was simple. The balcony’s and views, the deck with fire pit, easy beach access, elevator, comfortable beds, cleanliness made the stay better than we could have possibly imagined. No wonder reviews are consistently 10/10!

Beautiful home on the ocean

This home had plenty of room for eight of us. It is located right on the ocean and close to the boardwalk and restaurants. The views from the house are spectacular and we loved the short walk to the beach. The porch is a great place to hang out and watch the fireworks. We highly recommend this house and Emily was a fantastic host.

Like finding beautiful seaglass on the beach

The home was wonderful and provided a beautiful landscape for rest and retreat. The views were stunning, the access easy, and the home comfortable. Emily was a wonderful host and communication was top notch.

Great Escape

This trip was a gathering of our adult children and their significant others under one roof. I’ve always wanted to stay beachfront and finally did it. Flighted Desire did not disappoint in any category. Location on point, cleanliness on point, stocked house on point, and most importantly communication with Emily was above great. Her time to respond was as if I was chatting with a friend of mine answering all my questions and checking on us and our stay. That’s the kind of hospitality all hosts should have making this a great escape for our Spring Break.We give this five stars plus one. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you from Maryland residents for sharing your beautiful home and accompanying all our needs.

A week with New Grandson

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! This property was very well suited to our family getaway. This was our first vacation with our 5 month old grandson. The design of all four bedrooms having their own bath was particularly helpful. We rented a crib and it fit beautifully in the walk in closet. The house handled baby noise well. Folks sleeping upstairs could not hear the joyful baby noises in the living room. The porch set up beautifully for all of us to have turns in the sun and shade with the baby. The host was very communicative and we did not have any issues with the property. As a family, we have been traveling to CA Beach for over a decade and this is our favorite rental property yet. We will be back!

Beyond expectations

My family has been vacationing in Carolina Beach since my mother was a little girl (over 60 years). Previous years we have stayed either in a beach front condo or a house a few rows back. We were so excited to find a house beach front for this years trip and will definitely be returning to Flighted Desire. Accommodations-The house was perfect for my family of 4 (2 daughters, ages 9 and 12) plus my parents plus my sister and brother-in-law. A bathroom in each room, minimal noise transfer between floors, elevator for my parents with aging joints, great outdoor space to watch fireworks, minimal crowds on the beach in front of the house, comfortable beds, list could go on and on. Would caution that the rooms do get rather bright in the morning but there are light blocking shades in all the bedrooms except for one small window in the street facing bedrooms. And a few of the ceiling fans were a little squeaky but nothing too terrible. Location-The location was within walking distance to so many activities that we do every summer (coffee/snacks from the Veggie Wagon, shopping at the Saturday market by the lake, donuts on the boardwalk from Britts, ice cream dates at Squigglys, sushi from Nikki's just to name a few). Host communication-Emily was the best host I have ever worked with to date! We, unfortunately, were in Carolina Beach when a tropical storm passed through and she made sure we felt safe weathering that storm as well sending over additional supplies.

Our host Emily has an amazing property on Carolina Beach. The home is inviting and clean with stunning views and eco friendly laundry and cleaning a standard. The beds were the most relaxing I’ve ever slept in! Falling asleep to the crashing of waves while sleeping on a cloud…says it all!We will return. This was our first VRBO experience. It did not disappoint!

Such a wonderful week

Everything was absolutely wonderful. The views were outstanding and Emily is such a wonderful host. We had 4 adults and 3 kids ranging from age 8-70 and everyone loved the house and beach. We look forward to renting from Emily again.

Nice place, great location

This is a nice place to stay for sure. There are a few things you might want to know. Things we loved: -Location is fantastic and within walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops but in a quiet area with a beach that isn't that crowded (note we were there off season) -House is nice with a well equipped kitchen -Elevator is perfect for hauling your stuff up to the higher floors as there are a lot of steps -Lovely bathrooms and walk in closets to store your suitcases/clothes/personal items -Two sets of washer/dryers with provided detergent so you can pack light! Things to know -There is only one TV in the house and that is on the main living floor. We were there off season (winter - 7 adults) and were blessed with 70+ degree days so we were able to be outside a lot but if you like to watch TV in your bedroom before bed or just want to get away from everyone, bring a book :) -The living area isn't huge - we all fit in there pretty well but again, we had excellent weather and even the nights were nice enough to be outside around the fire pit so you could spread out a bit -The mattresses are very soft - like squish around you soft and they sleep hot. Even my mother, who is 80 and always cold was hot at night. We are use to more supportive mattresses - that was the only thing we would really change It's a nice place, you won't go wrong choosing to stay here, just a few things I wish we'd known going in, especially for an off season stay. But we were super lucky with the weather and that made the week long stay excellent.

Even Better than Expected!

This has to be one of the best vacation properties we've stayed at. Usually when you get surprised, it's not for the better, but this place was incredible. I didn't realize it, but it has an elevator. It was stocked with Wusthof knives, Smeg tea kettle, two sets of washers and dryers, each suite had a tiled walk-in shower and plenty of space for everyone. All this and located directly on the beach. It was fabulous!

The Home With Everything

From booking to checkout Emily was a warm and welcoming hostess. The property itself was immaculate, incredibly well appointed, and in a perfect location. Emily provided great recommendations for everything from beach chair rental to restaurants and activities. It’s clear that she took her guests into consideration when stocking this wonderful property….from kitchen gadgets to beach towels to the laundry cabinet….just WONDERFUL. Not only would I fully recommend to my friends I will for sure stay again and am already looking forward to it! I LOVED this home.

Perfect Place to Relax!

We came here to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday and just spend time together relaxing, and this was the perfect place to do it. The home itself is beautiful and you can't beat the view and private beach access. Emily was also wonderful and easy to get in touch with if we had any questions. We're already planning our next trip back!

What a great vacation!!! We had such a great time at Flighted Desire this past week!! The condo is incredibly clean, stylish, comfortable and family friendly. The location is perfect with public beach access at a descent distance from the condos private boardwalk access limiting crowd sizes at the beach. Emily was incredibly responsive and attentive! Our kids had an absolute blast and we can’t wait to go back!!

Thanksgiving Paradise

The house was exactly as advertised. It was the most well supplied rental I have ever encountered. Other than no potato peeler and hand mixer, there were no improvements to be made. Watching dolphins while prepping for dinner was delightful. Wonderful location. Will come back again.
