Located just minutes from Sandbanks Provincial Park, wineries, restaurants, beaches, and local shops, Hummingbird Cottage offers the perfect balance of quiet waterfront relaxation and easy access to everything Prince Edward County has to offer.

My family and I are the owners of Black River Cottages, and we truly love welcoming guests to Prince Edward County. We enjoy helping families, couples, and friends create meaningful memories together, whether that's spending the day at Sandbanks, paddling on the river, roasting marshmallows around a campfire, or simply slowing down and enjoying time together.

As a family-run resort, we take pride in caring for the property and continually making improvements for our guests. Many of our guests return year after year, and some have become like family over time. We want every guest to feel welcome, relaxed, and at home during their stay.

We love the quiet setting on the Black River, where guests can enjoy kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, fishing, and beautiful sunsets right from the property. At the same time, we're only minutes from Picton's shops and restaurants, local wineries, farm stands, and Sandbanks Provincial Park.

It's a place where guests can spend the day exploring and then return to a quiet cottage by the water in the evening.

Your stay includes access to a heated pool, kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, bikes, a playground, waterfront docks, and a private fire pit and BBQ. We also provide a Sandbanks Provincial Park pass, giving guests free entry to one of Ontario's most famous beaches during their stay.

What many guests appreciate most is the atmosphere. Black River Cottages is a place where families reconnect, children make new friends, couples unwind, and returning guests create traditions that bring them back year after year.
