Lovely two bedroom / two bathroom, totally remodeled vacation rental with three screened lanais to enjoy beautiful water views of the Gulf of America and Bay. Lanais are off both bedrooms and living room.

Condo 221 is a Gulf View condo rental located on the second floor. The primary bedroom has a king-size bed, guest room has two twin beds, and the living room has a sleeper sofa. Both bedrooms and living room have a flat screen TV. This condo can comfortably sleep up to six people. Condo rates are based on 4 people but can sleep up to 6 with additional fee per person, per week.

Other condo features include a fully equipped kitchen, spacious living and dining room, ceiling fans in living room, both bedrooms, primary bath and kitchen, full-size washer and dryer and two full bathrooms. The primary bathroom has a standard walkin shower, and the guest bathroom provides tub/shower combo. All linens are provided, including beach towels!

Beautiful Condo

The condo unit was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable for 4 adult people. Also very well equipped with everything needed for a relaxing vacation. The distance from the unit to the water was quite the trek. Although the Condo is considered beach front, it is quite a walk to get to the water.

Nice condo, unwelcoming property for families

The condo was decent. Well equipped, not really lacking anything, just dated without much of a view (to be expected for a 2nd floor unit). New security gate right outside unit slams shut constantly and it's very loud. Can't express enough how much this was a problem, especially early in the morning. We have visited the Island Winds for at least 25 years at Thanksgiving and have always enjoyed our experience. Unfortunately, they have had a management change and it has been felt. No pool toys allowed at all...no noodles, balls, diving sticks, etc. Don't even pretend to be having a good time or security will kick you out of the pool, absolutely incredible. They have also installed so many security gates it's impossible to move around freely. Every family I encountered said they were already looking elsewhere for next year. They should just change this to a 55 and older property, because Scrooge is in charge. Such a shame, it was great for many years. By the way, I never write reviews, but felt families that are about to spend their hard earned money deserve to know. Not a reflection of the condo itself and I apologize to the owner, but the property is so unwelcoming to families now that it's shocking. Hope this helps!

Quite a Place

Everything was wonderful with island winds condo 5 stars all around

Condo # 221 was a beautiful well put together place with everything we needed and then some. Quiet , clean, the staff was hospitable and they were hard workers keeping the property clean and a joy to use . Pool n hot tub were clean and well taken care of . Everyone was so very nice and helpful. Definitely would love to stay at island winds condo again. We look forward to our return

Beautiful Property, Excellent Location

We really enjoyed our stay. The condo was clean and had everything we needed. The views were amazing. The property was well managed, and the guests were all quiet and respectable.

Memorable Beach Experience

Aside from navigating poor-lit grounds without clear signs in locating our condo keys kept in a deposit lock box from a long flight, our stay was superb. I called Lisa, the manager listed on-call at 11:00 pm to help but it was frustrating trying to understand her explanation of their entry protocol. No guests will ever have the same level of familiarity as personnel do! Even with written instructions it was intimidating and overwhelming finding the right locations and punching in the right codes for the right gates. We ended up being able to figure it out after a good fifteen minutes or so while lugging luggage around and had to help another large family locate their condo since they too arrived late and were just as confused as we were since we were all so tired and hungry on Day One. Once in the condo, we were relieved to walk into a very nice and well-decorated place, complete with a well-equipped kitchen provided with many appliances and spices from previous guests. Ordered pizza and walked a mile to pick it up since delivery hours were over. We then noticed that some spices expired way back in 2012 that were still kept in cabinets, which was shocking! Dishwashing and laundry detergent was low, so we bought some for our one week stay. Bath towels and bedsheets were abundant and clean. The balcony view was amazing, but the elevators are VERY slow and congested. We took the stairs when families were in queue. My family really enjoyed the July 4th fireworks display on the beach which lasted hours! Estero Boulevard, its main and two-way street was always almost congested so Instacart was a good option for us especially during Elsa. Their trolley and tram system did not run on time due to bad traffic, so walking to the pricey CVS one mile southbound was our second best option for necessities and food. We used Lyft to visit further points of interest. Driving around Estero Beach makes for more vacation days spent in traffic jams and scarce parking at shopping locales. Took us 40 minutes for a 4 mile trip one day! Post Elsa, we had lots of fun beach days. Michelle’s coastal-themed condo had plenty of beach supplies left from prior guests, including beach towels. No need to rent expensive beach chairs or umbrellas from the company Island Winds recommended. My daughter and her friends enjoyed building sandcastles and spent lots of hours swimming. High 3-star rating overall. Fixes are simple, and will return if issues handled!

Family Beach Vacation

Everything was great! The unit was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. Loved the location and the views; the proximity to the beach was fantastic. We had plenty of room for our family of five.

The property was wonderful. All necessities were provided. Ocean front condo with 3 balconies. Visited Maraco Island, Sanibel Island, Naples, Sarasota & Bradenton. Great 2 week vacation.

Great vacation

This was the ideal location for us. Property was well-maintained, and was as shown in pictures. Really appreciated that the kitchen was well stocked with essentials, and that there were even some beach towels and beach toys left by previous visitors, I assume. Loved that we could see the beautiful sunsets from the balcony. Would definitely rent this unit again!

Fort Meyers Beach

We spent three weeks at this property from the end of February into March. The weather was divine!!! The location was excellent for beach access and also mainland access. Many restaurants were within walking distance. There was road construction the entire length of our stay which was problematic, but this will be temporary!! The property manager Michelle gets ten stars for her friendliness and prompt attention to any questions we had. Island Winds is lucky to have her!!! I have no reservations recommending this property.

Deserves Five Stars

The property deserves five stars and the only reason our overall review falls short in any category is due to timing. We really enjoyed our stay. The pool and hot tub were terrific, particularly the temperature of the pool. The grounds were kept as well as could be while renovation was going on. The unit itself was one of the nicest--and definitely the most spacious-- we've stayed in. The photos are accurate; what you see is what you get including the updated kitchen. We loved the view. The only thing that took away from our experience was the cleaning and re-painting of the building. That is just a matter of timing. There was a lot of noise and a lot of dirt flying around, having the windows open was not an option. Of course, it was easily avoided by going to the beach! I should also add it did not affect the pool area while we were there. If shelling is your thing, this is a great place to do it. We also had multiple dolphin sightings. The sunsets were spectacular and different every evening. We thought the location was ideal as well. Though further down the beach, this gave us better access to an activity we really enjoyed: Everglades airboat rides. Wherever we went was a pretty easy drive, but the location gave us as good of access to Fort Myers as to Bonita Springs. My family and I thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Great, Quiet spot at the beach

Nice condo unit. Very spacious for 4 people. Beds comfortable. Plenty of kitchen stuff, though we just ate breakfast & lunch there. Awesome views from the living room balcony. This area of the beach is very nice and wide with soft, white sand. Plenty of families - but not a rowdy area. Away from the traffic congestion of the north part of the island. Family loved it and would return without hesitation.
