Filthy Place and a Dishonest Owner
Upon arrival, we immediately noticed dirty stained carpet and large leak stains on the roof. Upon further inspection, we found the residence to be completely filthy.
Below are a few of the conditions we found:
-Every bathroom sink had a lot dark hair (some long and some short, almost like someone had recently shaved)
-Bathroom tub was gross with hair and dirt
-Toilet seat had urine stains on it
-Dead bugs were found in various places throughout the house including one large dead cockroach behind the curtains in guest bedroom.
-A live small cockroach swimming in toilet
-Filthy, thick residue/scum on shower door
-Used bars of soap stuck to shower cutouts
-Used band-aid on the floor of laundry room
-Old fruit left on the counter and food left in the refrigerator and freezer Very dirty refrigerator and freezer ( shelves and floors)
-Filthy floors
-Countertops and tabletops covered in smudges, fingerprints and dust
-The home clearly had not been cleaned per our contract with VRBO and the owner.
We left right away because of the filth and messaged the owner to let him know the condition of the house and told him we would not be staying there.
The next day the owner responded and said that he went to the home and it was clean. He had obviously gone that AM took pictures after he cleaned mentioned areas then sent me a picture of the CLEAN bathroom sinks!
Too bad that we had already taken pictures of the filthy conditions, so we knew we were dealing with a dishonest person who was prepared to lie and keep our money.
At this point, he has still refused a refund, suggesting his house was clean and that we should had let him know sooner (though we messaged him the night of check in) .
This guy is a criminal, and his place was nasty. We are disputing with VRBO. Do not stay here or give this man your business.
