This was a good location with privacy and quiet. This property had nice size bedrooms, kitchen and living room. We liked having clocks in 2 of the rooms. The property was clean and well kept. We would love to stay here again.

Echo Pines Cottage was the perfect location for our party, and the accommodations were excellent. We were all very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed the property.

Great cottage to relax in. The kitchen is well appointed with gear and basics. The Weber grill worked well. Everything about the house feels welcoming as a guest! Highly recommend swinging by Echo Lake Beach after every hike which is a short drive from the house.

We could hear the loons on Echo Lake! So this was a plus! We loved sitting on the back patio to look at the lake! This was a great place from which we could explore all of Mount Desert Island. We don't like crowds so much, so did not go into Bar Harbor too much, but loved the proximity to Southwest Harbor and is on offer there. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped, the house was clean. Having a washer and dryer on premises was a plus. We were not wanting at all. The little IGA store just a few minutes away was sufficient for all our grocery needs. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. We loved Common Good in Southwest Harbor that has live music (including a 25 piece ukulele band on Sundays) and free popovers! Pets are welcome!

We enjoyed our time at Echo Pines and would stay here again. The coffee station was great! Kitchen was well equipped and included a nice array of spices too. The two bedrooms are upstairs. The stairs are pretty steep. So, if you have children or a small dog (like we do) you may want to block the stairs. The beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms were well stocked and very clean.The basket of maps and information about the area was helpful. Ellen even provides binoculars! Be sure to take them along on your morning walks to spot the loons on the lake.We liked the proximity to trails on the quiet side. Hiked Acadia Mountain, St Sauveur, Flying Mountain, Valley Peak, and around Echo Lake. Wonderland and Ship Harbor are more gentle trails with beautiful views. We also had tickets for afternoon and sunrise at Cadillac Mountain. If you can, go in the afternoon BEFORE so you can enjoy the views and scout out the location you are comfortable with for the sunrise. We really enjoyed walking the Bar Island Trail during low tide at sunset. We got some great pictures. Followed by dinner downtown in Bar Harbor. Enjoyed our trip! And loved staying at Echo Pines.

Location was great! Very clean, comfy beds, everything worked, kitchen supplies were fantastic and overall the cottage was very homey! 5 adults were quite comfortable in the space.

Very nice house in a secluded area of MDI. About 15-30 minute drive to most places, which was perfect for us. Comfortable rooms. Great kitchen and amenities. Very good communication with the host.
