WOW! What a great week we had touring Acadia with this lovely home so close by as a base. So comfortable--it had everything we needed. Bobby, our hostess, was amazing from start to finish and responded to any questions we had, including great recommendations. We highly recommend!!!

this property is charming, with beautiful views of the water with Acadia National Park entrance a stone throw from the location. loved being on the "quiet side" of MDI, with and easy drive into bar harbor and the maine park entrance. lots of trails accessible close by. this home was a wonderful, restful "landing place" for us, but also comfortable to just simply enjoy "hanging out" at the start and end of our day, and also on rainy days just relaxing and taking in the views. Bobby was a wonderful host, with prompt communication and genuine care for our comfort during our stay! We look forward to returning in the future!!Thank you!

The location was excellent. Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park are gorgeous. Staying on the quiet side of the island was excellent, away from the higher traffic and population of Bar Harbor but anywhere on the island is basically within 30 minutes drive. Several excellent restaurants in Southwest Harbor just a few minutes away. The house was well kept and very quiet, backing up to the sound. Very dark skies at night and we were able to see the Perseids meteor shower.

Great views

Such a cozy house for our week exploring Acadia National Park. The water views were fantastic. The house was roomy, beds comfortable. We will return!

Quiet Side Gem

We absolutely loved the idyllic setting on the quiet side of MDI. Highly recommended for families that want to enjoy Acadia but not necessarily spend much time in Bar Harbor.We enjoyed a great week of hiking, biking, and sea kayaking, all within easy reach.

Wow what a view!

Such an amazing view, we ended up spending every morning on the deck just looking out and sipping coffee. The house itself has a lot of mid century charm and is very comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and cute and fairly convenient to Southwest harbor. A bit of a drive to bar harbor.

Beautiful!

Beautiful house overlooking Somes Sound! we loved having breakfast on the porch watching boats and birds! convenient location, quiet but 10-20mins to hiking trails, Bar Harbor, 5mins from SW Harbor. Host was very accessible, responsive. This is our 2nd time staying at this place, we'll be back.

Quiet Side of Acadia, ME

Large bright home with plenty of comfortable seating inside and out. Many upgrades to the home, beautiful water view and access to the National Park is very quick. Lots of hiking choices from hard to a stroll.Ocean dips are close or beaches not too far-sand or rock. .

Topsider is glorious

Wonderful property for six people. Very good location with a beautiful water view. Excellent seating inside and outside for everyone to enjoy summer in Acadia. Excellent hiking nearby and rock beaches for easy access to the ocean at all tides. One family member has mobility issues and had no issues getting around indide and out.

Can’t Wait To Return

Our seven night stay was so comfortable and cozy. Beautiful views of Somes Sound from deck, living room, kitchen and master bedroom. All beds were very comfortable. Neighborhood was quiet with deer walking through yard most evenings. Wi-Fi worked and we used our AppleTV brought from home to stream movies. Easy access to Bar Harbor, Acadia and Park Loop. We can’t wait to return!

A Week in Hall Quarry

When you get out of your car, the view just knocks your socks off, and the same view is available from many windows inside. The house is very private and is comfortably furnished and, except for the lack of a dishwasher, has all the modern amenities. The owner is very nice, and accommodating. I would definitely go back again.

Lovely home

Very quiet. Deer munching on apples in the surrounding grass and field. Beautiful view of the water! Home well furnished and included lovely plants-some of which were flowering. Property manager was very helpful. We'll be back!!

Cozy House

The house was very cozy. The view is beautiful. It was close to Acadia and Bar Harbor. There is only one shower available. There is a full bathroom with a double sink and shower. The second bathroom is a half bath with a sink and toilet. We made it work for five adults. You have to go through one of the bedrooms to get to the third bedroom with a daybed and futon bed.

Spring Cleaning

The home is spacious, comfortable and spectacular views from main living areas. Grass had not been mowed and owner said it was due to so much rain. We would have enjoyed using the grill but no propane. There was mouse dirt all throughout the kitchen including inside the oven, on dishes and in cupboards. Obviously no one did spring cleaning. We had to wash everything before using. You need more practical bowls and cookware. To say the kitchen is fully stocked is not a fair representation of what was available to use. T.V. not working on arrival and to say you don't know what to do isn't an answer. Your remotes all needed new batteries. This should be checked before your guest arrives and also not hidden for us to have to look for. Towels and linens very nice. Better warn folks not to use that back deck. When you tell folks there is a grocery store near by please give the name and or address. We went the wrong direction in search of the closest "market." Beautiful area and very quiet.

We had such a wonderful time with my family. The home was so charming and lovely, beds were super comfortable, the view was amazing. It was so nice to sit on the deck and watch the sunrise. So close to everything. Wish we could have stayed longer!Would definitely book again!

Home away from home

This is the first time we stayed in this area - usually stay in Bar Harbor center. This was very central to all locations and hiking and was nice discovering restautrants in Southwest Harbor. the view of the Sound was amazing!

Bobby was very helpful. We had a glitch in our plans and she was very helpful.

We had a great stay. The neighborhood is very interesting. The views amazing and the house was much bigger than we thought. A great family house. Thank you Bobby.

Awful Experience

1. Lights in living room didn’t work 2. TV didn’t work - my husband had to go in the basement to check circuit breakers 3. No hot water 4. Awful communication with property owner 5. Dead mice and feces in basement Property owner expected my husband to be the repairman on our vacation. Not happening. We left to rent a hotel after one night and now are fighting for a refund. Also, you have to DRIVE to a boat yard to kayak, it’s not within walking distance.

These people were rightfully upset because the hot water wasn’t on. They didn’t tell me until the second night they were there, at which time I had a plumber on his way because I was at work. They left before he got there, 2 hours after they told me. It was a quick fix. The Tv works and so do the lights. There is no mice feces in the basement. You can easily walk to the boatyard, but not with your kayak on your back. I think these people just wanted to stay in a hotel in Bar Harbor.
