The Award Winning Historic 1893 Reed - Dossey House Bed & Breakfast

When you book your stay here, Our guests will experience the charm of the Historic 1893 Reed-Dossey House Bed & Breakfast located atop a hill with picturesque views of Brownsville, Kentucky. In the past 2 years, this B&B was awarded three Best In Kentucky awards from travel magazines. This cozy B&B is conveniently situated just 5 miles from Mammoth Cave National Park, 10 miles from Nolin Lake State Park, and 25 miles from the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green. With only the one private room with your own bathroom suite, you will be our exclusive guests and you will have access to the stunning bedroom with 12-foot ceilings and an attached private bathroom featuring a jetted bathtub and shower.

Take your pick from the two beautiful porches to unwind during your stay, or head to the game room with board and arcade games for some indoor entertainment.

Please note that the maximum stay is 3 nights, and we only accept bookings from the guest who will be staying on the premises. The minimum age limit for adult renters is 25 years, and we do not allow children or any additional guests.

A highlight of our B&B is the made-to-order gourmet breakfast, which is included in the room rate and served in the elegant dining room. We use only the freshest ingredients to prepare your breakfast of choice, whether it's scrambled or fried eggs, bacon, ham, or sausage, French toast made with specialty breads, toast, mixed fruits, juice, coffee, or tea.

In addition to the dining and bedroom areas, guests have access to most lower-level rooms including the Parlor, Game Room, and Sunroom, as well as both outdoor porches. Please note that the kitchen is off-limits during meal preparation, and the host's bathroom is not available for use.

Last but not least, please be aware that we have a friendly cat named Katie who roams the premises but is never allowed in the guest room.

Sharon met us warmly at the door and opened her home like we were family. The room was beautiful and cozy! The house was amazing! The porch slowed us down and we enjoyed our time there. Tony and Sharon have hosting down to an art form. The food was amazing and fresh. They put a lot of love into what they do. Anyone should take advantage of the meals they prepare because you aren’t going to get the quality and quantity any where else. They have a personalized touch for their meals and that made it more special. We felt like family by the time we left. I wanted to cry because we had to leave.
Breakfast was so delish and we didn’t want to leave a morsel behind.
Homemade focaccia was divine!
The quality here is better than a fancy steak house. The green beans were probably home grown and cooked to perfection.
Fresh breakfast and made with love!

Such a unique and wonderful experience - Tony and Sharon welcomed us into their beautiful home as if we were visiting family. My mother and I were so fortunate to share their company and drink wine into the evenings, learning of their lives and adventures together. The house is lovely and historic, featuring 12-foot ceilings, a massive wrap-around porch, and a scenic view of the town and nearby hills.Don’t bother finding places to eat - given Tony and Sharon’s skills for cooking, culinary preservation and creativity (jams, jellies, sauces, hors d'oeuvres), you’ll regret making any other plans! They go above and beyond to cater to our preferences, serving delicious dinners and delightful breakfasts with exquisite presentation.100% would visit again and will definitely recommend to any and all friends and family planning a visit to the Mammoth Cave region.

This is a beautiful, peaceful property with hosts that are amazing! Every detail is well thought-out, with so many extras. It was the perfect spot to relax after a day at the Corvette Museum and Factory Tour, and just a short (30 minute) drive to our Mammoth Cave tour the next day. Food was fabulous—be sure to have dinner! You will love staying with Tony and Sharon.

We stayed at the Reed-Dossey house for my wife’s and my second anniversary. Tony and Sharon went so far above and beyond to make the occasion special and help us feel welcomed. The property is so beautiful, and everything is immaculate. I cannot recommend the meals highly enough - get a dinner when you stay here! Tony and Sharon put so much effort into making fantastic food. Their hospitality is truly top-notch. This stay was one of the highlights of our year, and we can’t wait to be back again soon!

Our time at the Reed-Dossey House was absolutely wonderful. Evenings playing pinball in the game room were so much fun, and Tony and Sharon went above and beyond by making a cake and singing to my sister for her birthday. Their warm hospitality, delicious breakfasts, and attention to detail made this stay truly special. Highly recommend!

5 Star Hosts, Home and Food!!!

My wife and I stayed here for one night as a surprise for her birthday as we visited Mammoth Cave. It was our first stay at a B&B, and it was a great experience.Tony and Sharon were incredible hosts. The home has amazing character and is very clean. There's also a fun game room with a pinball machine that Tony has had for about 40 years, very cool! Morning coffee on the front porch overlooking Brownsville and their garden was a highlight.The dinner and breakfast that Tony and Sharon made for us was a true delight. Their passion was displayed in the dishes they prepared, and everything tasted so fresh! That's not by accident; they grow a lot of the ingredients they used, and Sharon makes a wide assortment of jam and jelly.As we were leaving, Sharon said "Take care of each other." A slight twist from the usual "take care of yourself". That summarizes the type of hosts Tony and Sharon were during our stay. They went the extra mile and cared about our experience and comfort.

Weekend Getaway

Tony and Sharon were absolutely wonderful hosts! Their home is beautiful, breakfast was awesome, and hospitality was superb. I wish we had reserved a dinner with them! They provide lots of little extras to make you feel welcome. The property is close to Mammoth Caves. and just a short drive to the Lost River Cave and Bowling Green. Would definitely recommend booking s stay here!!

Wonderful Bed and Breakfast!

My husband and I enjoyed our one night stay immensely! I would definitely want to stay there again if I ever return to that area. Tony and Sharon thought of everything! They were very gracious hosts and made us feel very welcome. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. Closet space was available and a little fridge was located in the bathroom that also had goodies in there if we wanted them. The bathroom had a combo jetted tub/shower and a hair dryer available. We also had access to their game room, dining room for the included breakfast, and that beautiful covered porch. We opted to have dinner there and we selected our meal from their menu a few days prior to arriving. It was absolutely delicious! Breakfast the next morning was also wonderful! They were very conscientious about avoiding spicy ingredients because of my digestive issues. Thank you both, again! I am a fairly quiet person and you both made me feel at ease right away. It's a beautiful home located close to Cave City and I recommend it 100%. More importantly, I recommend Tony and Sharon for their outstanding hospitality.

The Best Food Ever

Amazing Experience

Sharon and Tony were incredibly welcoming to my girlfriend and I from the moment we arrived. We loved hearing the stories behind everything in the home—every item seemed to have its own little piece of history. The house itself was beautiful, and we had such a great time hanging out with Sharon and Tony in the game room, playing pinball and Pigs.I'm so glad we stumbled upon their bed and breakfast on our way to Nashville. If we head back that way, we're definitely coming back—and bringing another couple along with us!

Wonderful experience beginning to end!!

Unfortunately, we were only able to stay one night at this B&B. We truly felt so welcomed and cared for-we would have loved another couple of days! Of course, none of our clothes would have fit by then! The food!! Absolutely delicious-soup to nuts! Tony and Sharon really put their hearts into every detail-we felt like royalty the whole time. In addition, we had great conversation and a lot of laughs! Thanks for the highlight of our 10 day vacation! ❤️

Much More Than An Ordinary B&B

Sharon and Tony welcomed my wife and me into their home as though we were long-lost friends. We enjoyed everything about our stay: the comfortable bed, spacious porch overlooking the scenic hillsides (gorgeous in the fall), delightful conversations and, of course, the delicious breakfast with homemade jams, jellies and syrups. If you stay there, sign up for the optional dinners. We had homemade pizza one night and grilled steaks the other, and both were great — and generous enough to enjoy leftovers as lunches the following days.
