Beautiful Lake House within an hour’s drive of the Twin Cities

This peaceful lake home is located only 1 hour out of the Twin Cities! Situated on west side of Little Elk Lake (near Zimmerman, MN) and sits on a 1 acre wooded property with a breathtaking, southeast facing, view of the lake front perfect for spectacular sunrises. A dock for you to fish from and secure your boat or perhaps jet skis.

Recently, the house was beautifully updated with a stunning kitchen to include a wine cooler. Outfitted with new furniture. It’s just simply stated, a perfect place to relax with family and friends, enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning on the patio or perhaps enjoy a glass of wine in the evening as the sun sets. Sleeps up to 16 guests. 1-King bed, 2-Queen beds, 1-Full futon sofa. 4- pull out queen sleeper sofas, and 1- pull out twin sleeper sofa. To top it off, It’s expansive 21’x30’ loft outfitted with a wet bar and under-counter refrigerator is a great place for kids and grandkids to get away and spend time as the adults relax on the lake front.

This year-around conveniently located lake get-away is an amazing way to spend time on a lake in the summer fishing and boating, enjoying spectacular fall colors, and in the winter ice fishing and snowmobiling. Extremely convenient access to the boat launch area in the summer and the Minnesota snowmobile trail system in the winter.

Great place on the lake

We enjoyed our winter weekend stay very much! We were a group of 14 ages 17-70. We had fisherman in the group and brought our own fishhouse, which helped with sleeping (4 slept on the lake in fish house), the other 10 slept in the house, and I think you'd be hard pressed to actually sleep 16 as advertised, unless you have smaller kids who can sleep anywhere, as the majority of the beds were sleeper sofas, which our group did not find very comfortable. The loft room is awesome with huge TV, there is also limited seating for larger groups at meal time, but none the less, we had a great time and would recommend this rental, but maybe pack some air mattresses or alternative sleep options if you have fussy sleepers! Host had great communication and the home was very clean!

Cousin Time

The house worked great for our family gathering. The kids especially liked having the loft area as their “hangout”. Lots of space for different activities. The nice big kitchen worked well with multiple cooks.

Great Stay

This was my second time staying here and it was just as good as the first time. House is very clean and completely stocked with everything you could need. Kitchen is well appointed. Beds and furniture are very comfortable. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Yard is beautifully manicured. Joan is a great host. I can't wait to go back again!

Perfect cabin getaway!

We hosted a girls weekend and had an absolute blast. It was perfectly located just an hour away from the cities and was big enough to give everyone their space yet had a cozy vibe to spend meaningful time with your favorite people! We used their dock to store our rented boat, which worked great. And spent most of our time sitting on their patio taking in the beautiful view. Joan was very communicative and helpful throughout the process. Would definitely return!

Family vacation

We had the absolute best time! This house was perfect for our entire family including our two toddlers. The house was clean, family friendly, and absolutely beautiful. The dock was excellent for little ones to play by. Having the additional kayaks available was also a huge plus! This vacation was memorable to say the least. We are already looking forward to our next vacation in Zimmerman!

Great Place for Family Gathering!!

We loved this property for our summer weekend with our kids and grandkids! The home is large enough to accommodate all of us, it's well kept, very clean and well stocked. The grand kids loved the large movie/tv room which they designated as "their space" when they were inside. The home sits on a beautiful piece of lakefront property with ample space on both a patio and a deck. We enjoyed fishing off the dock plus tubing and swimming in the lake. We will definitely stay here again!!

Perfect property for our family vacation!

We were super impressed with this vacation rental- the property was beautiful and clean, and well stocked with all the necessities! We loved cooking on the island range, the deck and porch were perfect outdoor spaces, and the dock was the nicest we’ve seen with built-in seating and shade umbrellas! The loft area was great for our teen daughter and her two friends- we didn’t even hear them from the other side of the house. Already booked again for next year!

Great cabin for large groups!

Clean, beautiful home with lots to do! Accommodates large group and has everything you need! Bonus space above garage was great for all of us to hang out together. Water toys and lake area were perfect! Host was very helpful and responsive. Would definitely stay here again!

Family Fun

This property has plenty of room for lots of family fun. The house is inviting with a good size kitchen, living room that looks out to the lake and a huge loft for really spreading out, watching a movie on the big screen or for playing games. There is a great yard and fire pit for making s'mores and just enjoying a fire. I would definitely recommend this property to family and friends!

Excellent Family Gathering Place

This place is perfect for a family gatherings. The kitchen was large and held everything you needed. The beds are very comfortable and there is space for everyone. The large bonus room was fantastic! We were able to move around and never felt crowded. We even had the chance to watch a movie on the projection TV. It felt like you were in a movie theater. The views of the lake were excellent. Thank you for the perfect venue for our daughter's 40th birthday celebration.

A great weekend stay

Our family had a great time here over a long October weekend. The upstairs loft was a great place for the kids and the outdoor spaces were great for enjoying the fall scenery and weather. A very pleasant experience all around.

Great king Labor Day weekend!

Wonderful property for our whole family. Kids and grandkids alike. Sandpit was loved by the toddlers, older kids enjoyed swimming and fishing. Property was very clean and beds were comfortable. Extra towels were appreciated and the bonus room was perfect for our large group. Three extra beds up there and a great video game/movie room. We all had space to spread out. Great weather (hot) but when it was time to rest, we loved the air conditioned house. Laundry was a bonus. Thanks for a great stay!

Second stay and just as we remembered ♥️

Joan is just such a joy to have as an owner, great communication, easy peasy check in and it truly feels like home. The backyard is more gorgeous than the photos can show, the dock with the built in chairs and umbrellas, the use of the kayaks, tubes, life jackets, and a gorgeous fire pit, you almost feel guilty staying inside but there is room for everyone to relax and the kids are over the moon with the bonus room. The beds are so comfortable and we loved all the extra pillows and blankets along with enough towels for a large group and beach towels. The kitchen is perfect for cooking for a large group and is very well stocked. We knew from last year so we brought our own shampoo, body wash and extra paper towels and toilet paper. She starts you off with the basics but the store is only 5 minutes away. We just chose to bring extra along. Lawn games, board games, plenty of tvs and steaming , good wifi ( we had one working from a laptop and teens on devices and no issues ) . This is the perfect spot for families with kids of all ages. The water at the shoreline is shallow enough for even toddlers to swim. Highly recommend and we look forward to booking our next trip!

We have been in search of a lake house property as we so thoroughly enjoy the lake life. Both of us grew up with a lake cabin, its those memories that have motivated us to find this place.

As a kid, I remember getting stuck inside the cabin when it rained the entire weekend. When I saw the large loft with a theater, I was immediately envious as I understood that if kids encountered the same rainy weekend, they could still enjoy the cabin and its fabulous game room.
