2023 Vacation in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

We have stayed at the Ocean Garden Villas condo facility for 13 years and rented from another condo owner, but unfortunately she passed away late last year, hence for this year, 2023, contacting VRBO to book an available condo in OGV. We enjoyed our 1 week stay as usual and was impressed how clean we found the condo.

Nice place

The place was clean and well kept. Maybe recently updated? A few steps to the pool or beach. Basic kitchen but fine for a short stay. I certainly consider going back.

Fun times…

Second floor no elevator…The proximity to the POOL and BEACH were PERFECT. You MUST KNOW if you stay here that the master mattress is on a bed frame and is EXTREMELY hard. The headboard isn’t connected to the wall NOR the frame. The other beds were soft and comfortable per the other family members. There is ZERO WATER PRESSURE in the showers… ZERO …. We found the laundry room it’s on the first floor in the last door before you exit to the pool. They are quarter machines 4.00 per load… It’s a quaint old time beach condo…Exterminator came and is regular which is awesome. Tiny ants in the kitchen but taken care of by safe spray I left under the sink. Bring your stock or know to shop for ALL paper products, spices and sheet pans … beach is extremely busy but overall a SWEET place AND lots of family FUN! Lots to do NEAR the condo. First stay at North Myrtle in 20 years..

We really liked the decor of the unit. A couple things that would make this a five star unit are, one the kitchen utensils and cookware could be better. There were no baking sheets. Two, the living room TV is shot and needs replaced. It takes about a minute for it to warm up and the screen to come on. Three, there is no in unit washer/dryer. There are 3 coin operated washers and dryers one floor down. Fourth, the water pressure is awful. These are minor inconveniences but become bigger as the week progresses. On a positive note the unit is clean, the view/location was great and we had a good time. If those items are fixed it would be an A rental.

Since your departure, we have replaced the television, added baking sheets and speaking to the owner with regards to updating the kitchenware. In addition, the owner has contracted a vendor to assess the possibility of installing a stackable washer/dry. We take your suggestion to heart and would love to host you again in the near future.

Stayed just over a week during end of July 2026. Unit was clean and well kept. New countertops and fixtures were very nice. Kitchen sink does not get very cold. Water pressure was fine even though we read some older reviews stating is was lacking. Very small ants at master windows and sliding door later in the stay. The unit does have some minor issues. We cook meals and booked this condo since it had a kitchen. We had to buy kitchen linens, hot mitts, dish/hand soap, cutting board, etc... There pots/pans are badly warped, some had loose handles. No soap or TP in bathrooms. Master bathroom shower valve whines during use, had to fiddle with the valve to try and quiet it. The hot/cold valve is also adjusted incorrectly. The blinds in the master are broken, open/close rod is missing. Master bed feels like a firm springboard and is the most uncomfortable mattress I've ever had to sleep on. The headboard is not attached to the bed frame or the wall. Adjusting my pillow while sleeping caused it to bang the wall... had to place a blanket behind it. Master bath flooring comes up if you step where the floor dips underneath (floating floor) and you can catch your foot on the sharp corner. Hopefully these issues can be addressed for future visitors.

Older unit that was fairly priced. Right on the beach.

Had a very good time. Right on the beach. Unit is older and lacked kitchen supplies but we were not planning on cooking anyway. The was very low water pressure for hot water but I realized that there was a double valve on the hot water side. One valve was broken in the closed position. Opened it up some and it helped, but that is a plumbing no no. Needs a few light bulbs too. Overall, good value.

Summer vacation 2021

Have stayed at this property many times this unit was poorly equipped in the kitchen no baking pan, the pots and pans the handles were about to fall off, all dishes were dirty along with silverware no mixing bowls. The baseboards were filthy. Under the beds looked as if they had never been cleaned. This unit L2 needs some upgrades, but we will probobly stay at this site again because we like location and that it is not so crowded .
