Looking for the perfect lake view vacation home, Sandy Moose is it! This home is located in Oyster Bay II and is sure to please the whole family! Enjoy a day at the beach then sit back and enjoy the water-views of Mallard Pond from the screened in porch. Newly remodeled with granite counter tops and Pergo flooring. Home has security camera under the house directed towards the pond.

Cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival will receive 100% of refund of all monies minus $ 39 Processing Fee and Any Credit Card Convenience Fees Paid. If less then 30 days: the advanced rent is only refundable subject to the following: The property is re-rented for the same period. Re-rental of less than a full week will be refunded on a pro-rated basis. The Agent will retain a $39.00 processing charge and any convenience fees charged. *Deposits are not refunded for ANY reason (including bad weather).

Wonderful!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our first family trip down to Chincoteague. The house is set up perfectly with a master bedroom suite on one side and 2 bedrooms and a full bath on the other with the kitchen and living room in the middle. The space was very comfortable. Quick drive to anything you need or a nice walk to Maddox street for coffee and donuts in the morning.Lots of wildlife visible from the front porch or screened in back porch. We are planning to make this trip a tradition!

Love this house

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been coming several years in the fall. Have stayed in many homes and Sandy moose, (once you're inside :)) is Is truly a home away from home. Spacious living space and open view to the water Begs for you to linger and listen send. This quiet corner of the island is ripe with wildlife. This year's visit we had deer Fox black squirrel and of course geese.The kitchen is a well equipped dream with many wih small appliances provided.Master suite is also a major highlight.*I love the look, feel,and security of the stilted house, but Have learned to strategize my move in and move out as well as my trips during the day.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our third year renting this house. Overall it is a clean, comfortable property. There were two issues this year that I hope will be addressed for 2023. They dishwasher wouldn't close and couldn't be used. It was not properly installed and has gotten worse each year. Also, the cold water valve in the outdoor shower is frozen and wasn't fixed during our stay. A missing pipe plug was replaced so the water could go through the shower head. We would have preferred that the dishwasher be replaced during our stay but there were issues with contractor.

Only thing to tweak would be the front door, which stuck a lot - needed a major shove to open, or close.

A perfect spot

I fell in love with Chincoteague years ago and always wanted to visit for more than a day so I invited my son and family for a weeks vacation! We relished each tranquil day gathering on the screened in back porch visiting and enjoying the backyard wildlife. It was the perfect spot to entertain my 2.5 year old granddaughter!! Hope to make this an annual event.

Memorial day vacation

Came down and checked in mid week. Was nice to find a property that allowed a Wed-Wed stay, as to avoid holiday traffic. Property was in a great location, quiet neighborhood. Tile flooring could use an overhaul and front door lock needs replacing. Maintenance men showed up to replace air filters and we were not notified. Had I not gone to the door, they were going to come in. They thought our car was the cleaning crew. Lawncare service showed up before 8a on Monday, which was Memorial Day, and woke us up. Communication from the rental company would have been appreciated. Other than that, nice property and would stay there again if we decide to return.

Clean, well stocked, comfortable beds, great game console, plenty of seating, large and well organized kitchen (all the small appliances you needed including 2 coffee makers).The screened porch was beautiful but the patio furniture wasn't very comfortable. The wonderful view of the pond and birds made up for the furniture. The driveway is single laned as we all drove from different states in different cars there was a lot of juggling cars whenever anyone went out. A side parking area or turnaround would have been nice.Great stay would definitely go again.

Wonderful stay

We loved this house and had a wonderful week. The house is very comfortable. I would warn about 2 very minor things: 1. The AC doesn't work great. We were comfortable but needed fans. 2. The king bed was a very hard mattress and I ended up sleeping in the room with the twin beds instead because I have back and neck problems. Neither of these should dissuade anyone from renting but are just things I would have wanted to know ahead of time. Overall we loved the house and would definitely recommend it.

Comfy space for family of 4

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sandy Moose has a well-stocked kitchen and plenty on entertainment in the home for rainy days or after-beach hours. I was pleasantly surprised with the number of kid things in the home and loved that there were a couple of stools available so my little guy could reach the bathroom sinks. The mattresses were really comfortable and we appreciated the ceiling fans throughout the home and on the screened porch. We found that on the really hot days (over 90F) we needed to turn the AC up to around 75F mid-day to prevent it freezing up. Overall, we were really happy to be at Sandy Moose and back in Chincoteague after several years away.

Clean and comfy

Great place. Clean and comfy. Video "console" was a hit with the boys. Screened in porch and our various wildlife neighbors were a treat. Only 2 things I would improve = more adequate lighting in the kitchen for cooking and remove the foil in the bottom of the oven (covering the heating elements and does not allow even and proper cooking).

Vacation Home on a Lagoon

Reviewer Comments: We were pleased with our experience in renting the Sandy Moose, located on a small lagoon that attracted many water birds like egrets, geese, ducks and many more that we looked up in the bird guides under the coffee table. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch in mornings to soak up the early sun from the east. We were pleased to find all the cooking tools needed because we enjoy home cooked meals. There were also plenty of books, videos, and TV's to keep us entertained when we were not in the Assateague Park which is just a five minute ride away. The five days we stayed are not enough to take full advantage of what this house, Chincoteague and Assateague have to offer. I think a full month might be better.

Everything we had hoped for!

We enjoyed our first visit to Chincoteague and having a nice place to stay was a plus. The house had everything you needed. Plenty of kitchen items, books, games and puzzles for the kids, movies, etc. We practically lived on the screened-in porch. My husband, his sister and I were there mainly for birdwatching and nature. This location was perfect for that. So many birds including a pair of great-horned owls who visited the trees in the immediate area. We could hear them vocalizing almost every night and managed to find them a few times. Also had some deer that occasionally stopped by in the backyard. My husband would put birdseed on the deck railing to attract the birds but we also had a raccoon that showed up every night to finish off the seed. We were very happy with our week stay at the Sandy Moose!

A wonderful Chincoteague get away!

My husband and I stayed at Sandy Moose for a week. It’s our first time vacationing at Chincoteague. We enjoyed everything that Sandy Moose had to offer: a quite neighborhood but also a few minutes away from the park and everything else, master suite is ideally located away from other two bedrooms with comfortable king size bed, nice screened deck (the swinging chair is my favorite) for morning coffee and afternoon reading, plenty books and games at the house for everyone to enjoy. This was a worry-free and very relaxing vacation. We rented bikes, beach chairs and umbrella at Bike Depot, convenient location and good service. We enjoyed hiking, biking, relaxing at the beach. Thank you for sharing the Sandy Moose with us. We will definitely come back!
