We had the most incredible week staying in this beautiful home. We stayed as a family of 3 generations, with 8 adults and 6 children, and the house was perfect. We lucked out with the weather so spent a lot of our time enjoying the beautiful garden and making good use of the bbq. Hols was a fantastic host - always quick to respond and nothing was too much bother. I cannot recommend this house enough and we can’t wait to return. Thank you so much Hols!

We enjoyed staying at the house and the communication with Holls was great! It is a good base for exploring Dartmoor and the surrounding area. Only critique was the family photos on the walls which made it feel less of a holiday let and more of a stay in someone’s home. We haven’t experienced this before in any other let.

Thank you for your feedback. We always explain to our guests that we let our main home which we move out of for numerous Months of the year. This is a traditional genuine VRBO. It’s not an empty stripped back holiday let. However we do strip and fully pack the whole house of absolutely everything in the property, so that it feels unique - a beautiful property which our guests love, make memories within and enjoy ‘as their own’ for a few weeks every few months through out the year. . We do leave a few photos up as a means of a little warm touch and introducing ourselves. I think the vast majority of our guests in 9 years of letting have actually embraced the small personal touch of a few photos in two of the 16 rooms. I’m so sorry that you didn’t feel the same way. I’m so pleased you loved the rest of the country house as much as you expressed during your stay and enjoyed bespoke outdoor activity contacts and ‘ideas list’ which we gave you. I loved chatting to you and very pleased to hear you were having a great time. I hope all we did helped you with aided you to really enjoy your stay. Faithfully Holls

A great stay in an ideal location

We came to stay at Chaplains House at the start of the summer holidays and had the most incredible time. From the outset Holly was the most amazing host. Always ready to give us tips and ideas about where to go, nothing was too much trouble. The house itself was perfect for our large family group with a large garden and plenty of equipment for the children to play on. We loved the location which offered easy access to moor walks and provided a central spot from which to explore the delights of Dartmoor and Cornwall. There were numerous sandy beaches, riverside walks, grand houses and a whole host of other places to explore. It was an idyllic trip.

Superb stay in Princetown

We stayed as a large group of varying ages. The house is very well equipped with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The hot tub was definitely a hit! Princetown is located at the top of Dartmoor with good amenities and only 15 minutes drive from the nearest supermarket. We made full use of Devon's beautiful coast visiting Plymouth, Salcombe, Paignton and Totnes. Anyone into their golf should also play at Yelverton where horses and sheep roam the fairways. Holls was an excellent host who answered any questions we had very quickly. Thanks for a great stay!

It was a genuine pleasure to host Jack and his family and friends. They were superb guests and I’d highly recommend them to other accomodation providers. Tidy, respectable and great with communications.
