Tranquil old Devonshire country house in stunning position next to Dartmoor

We were very glad that you enjoyed staying at our house. We were sorry to hear the Wi-Fi was only working downstairs it was easily fixed and is now back to running throughout the house at around 30-40 mbps. We do indeed have 6 baths and 1 shower and that should be clear from the VRBO house information but I will try to see if we can make it clearer. We do have a tv in the kitchen which, as we explained before you arrived, is currently not working. As it is only a small kitchen tv we have never said that we have a tv at all in the house so if we can get it working it will be a bonus for anyone staying here. Thank you for the lovely message you left - you were good guests.

Irene and her other guests were lovely and I’m glad they enjoyed their stay. They were very unlucky with the AGA. It was the first time it has been any sort of trouble and we did what we could to solve it while they were with us (fortunately there is also a electric cooker with hobs, oven & grill as well as a microwave). We’ve since had an expert in and the problem is now fixed. We do try to describe the bathrooms as accurately as possible in the blurb but we’ll have a review to try and remove any ambiguity. Many local garages and shops sells sacks of wood and so if the wood we’ve left out isn’t sufficient it is pretty easy get hold of more. The local farm shop will deliver wood and kindling.

We're very glad you and your family had a lovely time and that you were happy and comfortable here. We were sorry though that you had had some problems while staying here - and that you didn't raise them during the friendly conversations we had while you were here. The house was cleaned and aired before you arrived but because of Covid we wanted to reduce the number of different cleaners in the house and so one cleaner came several days running. She was especially careful about disinfecting all the touchpoints, but this might have allowed for cobwebs in other places. You were unlucky to be here when the weather meant the cluster flies wanted to come in and hibernate. You did mention this to me but turned down my offer to hoover them up. The dishwasher is now sorted. I'm sorry it became a problem and hope that the other (second) dishwasher was enough for the six of you. As you arrived earlier than we had arranged, and were already settling in before I was aware that you were here, I was not able to do the last minute checks and tweaks that I usually do. I hope you will come back again.

I’m glad you had a good time and found the house both well placed for a walking holiday and easy for socialising. I’m sorry you had some problems with the WiFi. You were unlucky and it has been much better in the last few weeks. We’re anticipating that BT will continue to upgrade the lines. We have installed more boosters in the house and that does seem to help eke out what comes in to the house. We enjoyed having you here . Come again soon! Jane
