Birding, Biking, Relaxing! You can do all three! You will have FREE BIKE RENTAL with access to two bikes, plus a pair of binoculars. Newnans Lake is 5 miles from downtown Gainesville and 7 miles from UF campus. Newnans Lake is a migratory bird path. A Birder's Paradise! This 1250 sq ft upstairs apartment overlooks our own citrus grove. You feel like you are in a luxury treehouse! Very peaceful and quiet here. You are surrounded by original artwork throughout the apartment. A memorable experience! HIGH SPEED WIFI throughout apartment. Washer and dryer available. Let me know if you require 2 beds. Looking to do some outdoor cooking? We have a grill for you to use, along with utensils for the grill. You just provide the charcoal and lighter fluid.
One hour massages available at $45. All services are on a cash basis.
I do ask that you please not open the windows as the moisture and pollen will affect the paintings. Please keep the outside door locked when not on the property. There is a nice patio with comfortable chairs and swing on the garage patio for fresh air and your enjoyment close to your entrance.
Be sure to watch an amazing sunrise or sunset on Newnans Lake at Palm Point, a nice walk from the apartment.

Greg is a fantastic host and his rental is a really neat retreat not far from downtown Gainesville. The property itself sits on a pond with scenery that is absolutely beautiful. It is a nice, calm reprieve from the chaos of city life. Greg is incredibly welcoming and responsive. I will absolutely be staying here the next time I am in town. Book with confidence. Very quiet place. We saw a rafter of turkeys as well as koi in the small pond. Appliances all worked very well and the shower was excellent. We would stay here again.

Hands down the best host I've had! When you arrive, Greg will give you a tour of the wonderful property. Throughout our stay he was so kind and attentive, while also respecting our privacy. The apartment is very nice and is separate from the main house. Additionally, the property is absolutely beautiful, and we even got to pick fresh figs from tree in the yard! If you're planning to visit Gainesville, stay here, you won't regret it!

Gorgeous property, with stunning grounds, beautiful cottage with everything wonderfully provided. Owner is nearby; and super responsive if needed. Perfect place to just relax, or use a base to explore Gainesville and the surrounding area.

This place was amazing, had everything and more! We were there for 3 nights and it flew by, wishing we had more time to explore all around and enjoy the mornings on the porch watching the wild animals roam so peacfully.

What a lovely place. Clean, spacious, and attractive. The setting is great - lots of bird life, including a gaggle of wild turkeys. The host is very pleasant and very helpful.

My daughter and I stayed here for two nights while we learned about Gainesville and UF. We enjoyed this host and his property! Beautiful, peaceful setting close to town but the feeling of being in the country. Many animals to see. The lake is beautiful. The property was very clean, well stocked, full of historical artifacts and culture! Will stay again!!!!

The place was immaculate, easy to find, close to where i needed to be and just an overall good find. All amenities were available. Check-in and out process was simple.

Calming getaway from the hustle and bustle, yet still a quick drive to the university, downtown and Archer Road area. Apartment is very cozy, peaceful, and we enjoyed the nature including all the birds and even saw a ton of turkeys. Greg was very hospitable and we will definitely be back when we visit Gainesville again.

Greg is an excellent and attentive host. He greeted us when we arrived and gave us the grand tour of the apartment and the grounds. We met the koi and the turkeys and enjoyed fresh oranges from the orchard. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The bikes were a great bonus - we rode down to the lake and hung out with the alligators and the birds. If we're ever in the Gainesville area again, we'll definitely stay here.

10/10! My daughter and I stayed for 4 nights and were both sad to leave! We felt welcomed, and comfortable in the apartment and surroundings. The wildlife and koi pond were delightful as were the artwork and history displayed inside. Very clean, slept well, awesome shower, and the kitchen has everything you could need. This was a great place to relax on the porch watching and listening for birds as well as a jumping off point for walking Paynes Prairie and touring UF. We hope to return!! Thank you, Greg!

Greg was the perfect host throughout our stay. His place is immaculate, bright, and charming as can be. Greeting my daughter and I with some fresh, beautiful, and fragrant gardenias from his garden was such a nice gesture! Learning about the history behind the beautiful pieces of art in his place was very fascinating. The location is serene and peaceful - tucked away in lush nature. Believe him when he says you won’t want to get out of the shower! We’ve never experienced such nice water pressure before! The sofa bed is extremely comfortable. To wrap my review up - if your travels ever bring you to Gainesville and surrounding areas - you should definitely give this place a chance! Thank you so much, Greg!

Semi-retired Air Force Vietnam veteran that enjoys nature and life. Have been a resident of Gainesville for over 40 years and love it here. Very involved in a open and affirming church that is involved in social justice. I'm a free-lance graphic designer/photographer. Very outgoing and love interaction with all people. You will find out that I love history, especially family history that dates back to 1632 as Massachusetts Bay Colonists. I am single and have a grown daughter and grandson that lives out of town. I have a female shetland sheepdogs that are almost 11 years old and a total joy to be with.

Looking for peace and quiet and enjoy what nature has to offer, look no further. This estate is on 1.5 acres located within the Alachua County Conservation Area. If you are a birder, this area is a migratory bird path according to the Audubon Society. You will not only see water birds, but also eagle, osprey, hawks and bard owls. Currently I have a doe with her two fawns that visit daily. Of course I feed them deer corn!
After birding, biking or hiking get a massage from me!

The apartment is filled with artwork produced by my parents who founded the Jacksonville Watercolor Society. The furnishing are first class with historical artifacts throughout. It's almost like a museum.
