Cozy "River Retreat" situated directly on the Cuchara River. Cozy furniture, beds, bedding. Rustic decor. New and modern kitchen appliances. Nearby hiking trails, fishing, lakes, rivers. Quaint downtown area with seasonal events. The Cuchara Valley is a stunning representation of Colorado. Snow peaked mountains, colorful Aspen trees and abundant wildlife. While house is rented we will not be there. We are available by phone if anything needs attention. The downtown area features The Dog Bar, Cuchara Yacht Club, Timbers Steak and Spirits.    General store, miniature golf and rec center. 12 miles to historic town of La Veta. Surrounded by mountain trails!  The newly reopened Cuchara Mountain Park has farmers market, local bites and seasonal lift for cross country skiing and sledding.  

New fiber internet service!  Work remote with high speed internet.

This was our second stay at this beautiful place! Nice to hear the river from behind the cabin. Host was very friendly and accommodating! We hope to return again !

Love the location in the heart of Cuchara Valley, right on the Cuchara River. Just beautiful.

This cabin is great and had everything we needed!! The deck in the morning and in the evening were probably our favorite part of the entire cabin!! We brought a hummingbird feeder with us and saw some incredible hummingbirds! We also brought some nuts and some beautiful birds and chipmunks came to visit us every morning! The chairs by the creek were a little difficult to get to but sitting by the creek was so peaceful!! At night, you can see so many stars and even the Milky Way is visible from the deck!! The sleeper sofa in the game room was very comfortable and so were all of the other beds! I would suggest bringing some fans because the rooms in the summer are pretty stuffy and hot, even with the windows open at night. The bathroom upstairs is incredibly small and tight so showering and getting ready in there was not easy. We would definitely stay here again though!! The location is great and the cabin is wonderful!!

Beautiful mountain valley cabin

Modern cabin by the river had all the conveniences of home. Viewed and heard the river from the deck of the cabin. Quiet neighborhood.

Absolutely Wonderful

What a gem of a cabin! We slept so well hearing the sound from the river! It’s a great place to relax, catch up on your reading and look at the stars. I would highly recommend it!

Cozy Cabin by the Creek

The sights and sounds of the river is so relaxing. Since the bedrooms are upstairs, you feel like you are in a tree house! It was our second time to stay in Cuchara and we hope we can stay again since we got married in the Cuchara Chapel 44 years ago.

Second time and it’s great.

My son and father in law have stayed here two years in a row. It’s perfect for our needs. Great location outside of Cuchara and right on a beautiful, rushing stream. 15 minutes or so to North Lake or LaVeta.

Peaceful surroundings

Very clean. Its a, beautiful sitting in back along the river. I thought it was going to be a little more isolated, but it was quiet and peaceful.

Retreat by the river

We had a wonderful time. In the river by the house we saw fish in the evening. Deer passed through the open space beside the house one morning. The stars were amazing! Great place for a weekend getaway.

Laid-back Texan

My family and I genuinely enjoyed our stay in Colorado. The cabin had beautiful views and the sound of the creek was a delight and calming. We had the pleaaure of seeing our first snow fall in Colorado and the view that morning was spectacular. We will definitely go back.

Nice small cabin on the river

The property worked very well for us. Right on the water. Nice location. House is clean and has the appropriate amenities. We did not have any issues.

Peaceful Long Weekend

The property is at a beautiful location right on the creek. The house is cozy. We went up during the winter. The property is very close to Cuchara Mountain Park. We went there and did some cross/country skiing. Not much going on around the area in the winter, but a great place to get away for some peace and quiet.
